Green eyes flashed and nostrils flared in response to the jab. He was trying to be nice and not a total a** but clearly the other dude didn't appreciate his efforts.

The first time, that had got under his skin, maybe. The second time, it had annoyed him, made him flush. Today, cradling his coconut and tipping his chin up a bit to consider Zane, he looked surprisingly chill about the joke. He lingered for just one moment, eyes narrowed, and then grabbed another coconut to make his way off. Taking the best of the spoils with him.

"Congrats, you're the third person to crack that lame joke this week."

He didn't look back over his shoulder.

"And at least I don't sound like a stripper."

"Darn," Zane said dryly, snapping his fingers for effect as the weapon on his arm retreated to it's reseting totem state. He wasn't here for a physical fight, even if it was tempting. "At least I don't have a name that sounds like something used to lube one up."

He had gone from relatively laid back to on edge and defensive. Maybe it was the time on the island, maybe it was the monotony and the fact all he did was sleep or wander, but it didn't matter.

He was already there.

More retorts were on his mouth but they were pointless, Vasily already turned his back on him and was stalking off with a bunch of coconuts. Whatever, he didn't need the guy anyway.
