History: Though he's been 'reborn' into the guise of a lion, the demon Tora (or Lord Nagatobimaru as he was once known) has prowled the Earth for over 2,000 years. Of course, he spent 500 of those sealed in a basement of a temple thanks to a certain mystical spear, created for the sole purpose of slaying monsters. The Beast Spear. He eventually conned his way to freedom at the hands of Ushio, a 15 year old boy and son of the temple's current caretaker.

But much to the demon's chagrin, it turned out Ushio was just as capable of wielding the spear as his ancestor was, one of the few things Tora had honestly come to fear in his long lifetime. The two ended up forming an uneasy alliance (though they constantly swore they were going to kill each other), and over the course of time and hardships, even an odd sort of friendship.

The two eventually came to battle, and overcome a terror that threatened to drag Japan to the depths of the ocean and the world to its knees. But it was a bittersweet victory for the boy -- in order to keep the monster from seeing the spear and killing both Ushio and Tora in one fell swoop, the only way was to embed the spear into Tora's back and attack through him. He died not long after the beast, fading away into nothing with a smile...

What he wasn't expecting was a 'second chance', so to speak... much less anything like this!

Personality: Raphael is a ticking time bomb just waiting to go off, and he's got a damn short fuse to boot. He's fast to angry, even faster to throw himself into battle. He hates being cornered, he hates being patronized, he hates being bossed around -- if this guy doesn't like something, trust me, he'll let you know. Loud and effin' clear. Even when he's not pissed off, he's often blunt, sarcastic, always quick to give his two cents worth on something, forever playing the role of macho tough guy in the crowd. (Really. Between him and Casey, the testosterone can get overwhelming sometimes.) That said, though, if one can stomach all the pigheaded arrogance, mood swings, all the lovely perks that come with his package... he's also extremely caring, devoted, and passionate. There's just as much good coming with him as there is bad, if not more; his family will be the first to tell you that, and they've seen the best and worst Raphael has to offer. He's worth it.

History: Many years ago, in the sewers of Manhattan, a rat and four baby turtles found themselves flung together as they, and their lives, were forever changed by a stray canister of mutagenic goo. Alone in the world, the rat (Splinter), old and wise, became a father figure to the young turtles and raised them as best he could. He named each of them for great artists of the Renaissance and taught them the art of ninjitsu. As time passed, they grew bolder and began to venture into the world above more and more often. They made friends (April, Casey), they made enemies (Shredder), and even if they would never really be accepted, they found a sort of place in the world keeping their city safe. Some better than others.

Raphael could never really be content with the life he'd been shunted into. He hated that he'd never really be able to live a normal life, accepted, like everyone else. And over the years, that hated simmered into bitter rage that threatened to lash out at any given time. To top it off, the more Leonardo grew into his role of leader, the most frustrated and angry Raphael became; even if he'd never admit it outright, he was jealous. Now thanks a clash with Shredder's lackeys and a malfunctioning hunk of metal gone awry (not helped in the slightest by the sai a certain turtle stuck in it), he's trapped far from home, away from all he knows, and even stranger than before. (Needless to say, this really ain't going to help his attitude problem any...)
