WitchyBoy and im still stuck using a friggin shoebox. For a long time I only had a drawer and I'd say you don't have a friggin' shoebox, but a sacred shoebox If you want to try and set up a psudo/mini altar take a spot on a bookshelf/dresser and put a candle there and perhaps a statue that you like. - if you get asked about say that's where I wanted to put my candle and I'm displaying my statue (or any other items you can explain in a different light) -Rowena

Weasley Twins Girl I have yet to set up my alter, but it would have to be on the floor of my closet. Can you use a butter knife as an athame until you can get a better one? Because my parents would kill me if they found out I was a new Wiccan. You can smile I don't even own one myself. I have my wand though

I don't really have an altar. I keep all of my magical things in a drawer in my closet, but because I live in a dorm, I'm not allowed to even have candles (let alone light them). = (

My favorite piece on your altar Ame argentee would have to be your athame. Its very good and a pretty decent size as well. You too have a Bast statue? I do too, but mine is more the focus of my altar even though she isn't my patron Goddess I have no other religious statuary. Its very nice and I like it. You've outdone yourself.

I don't have a digital camera, but maybe I could describe my altar?
Firstly, the top tier is a t.v. tray, which use to have legs; it now sits on top of my second tier, which a wooden side table.
On the top tier, I have a blue candle in a large stained-glass blue bowl in the top two corners. Next to the one on the left, I have a pyramid, for putting my stones in. Next, I have a wooden statue of a stag to represent the Horned God. Then there is another candle in the centre at the top, which is white. Next is the Goddess statue, which is green, like grass (it's grainy too) with flowers, butterflies, insects, and small mammals on it. Her arms curve up (a lot of goddess statues look like this) but her hands become a bowl at the top. Next to her is a black vase, (I think made of wood) with yellow swirls up it. Then the other candle.
I usually keep my tarot book (which holds the tarot cards inside in two packs) in the bottom left corner. I put my athame on it (sheathed, when not in use). It's a dark wooden handle, trimmed with a gold colour at the tops and bottoms of the hilt. Sitting just beneath my Goddess statue and vase is my mini-cauldron, which I think is brass. I put my salt water in this.
I have a libation glass (small) under the God statue and pyramid.
I have a doily (spelling?) in the centre of the altar. It's simple, white, with some flower patterns on its edges. I'm still hoping for an altar cloth.
I usually put my stones down on this doily. I also have four clam shells (well, they came from two clams) that I put on the altar, but when I don't feel like using them, they sit on the bottom tier.
The bottom tier holds my incense, (stick) my incense holders, extra candles, my older Book of Shadows, maches, lighters, and some poetry, both for ritual, and stuff from long ago that I wrote. There are also some loose pages filled with certain formulae.
If I ever get a picture of it on a digital cam, I'll show it to you.

I don't know how to use the stupid digital camera we have, which is so cheap you can barely see the pictures from it anyway, it doubles as a horrible quality webcam. But I can describe my makeshift altar, although it is put-up, take-down.
I'll try to take a picture of it later, after I dye my hair, after my dad shows me how to work it.
