Flarie paces back and forth in the kitchen. She had made herself some tea...and made somewhat of a mess...People should really start chaining up the door to the kitchen, to keep her away from it. After a few minutes of her constant walking back and forth, she finally gets some paper towels and goes about cleaning up her mess on the countertop, making more noise than was needed at the moment...
Too bloody early in the morning to be up and about...and yet, for some reason, he couldn't sleep. Not a bloody wink. Wasn't worth trying at all... So, instead, he had tossed on a nice fuzzy black robe that fit (Thank gods. He was sick of things not fitting. Blasted male body.) before padding down the stairs towards the kitchen to make a cup of tea.
But, he found the kitched oddly occupied. He shook his head with a little smirk, watching her for a moment before clearing his throat to announce his presence.
She squawked with surprise, and dropped the paper towels on the countertop, whirling around to see who was there. She had forgotten for a moment what exactly had happened to Skye, and was utterly surprised for a few seconds. "I...um...Good morning?"
"Bah..." He grumbled, padding towards the cupboard where he pulled down a tea cup which was quickly filled with water and stuffed into the microwave. Clumsy fingers prodded at the buttons until the machine started to make it's 'magick'. "Nothing good about anything at ten 'til three in the morning..."
He looked over to her, raising an eyebrow. "Having troubles with the kitchen again?"
"No...Yes! Yes that's it. The kitchen...compelled me to come down here and make tea. It's evil. Yep," she said, finishing cleaning up before plopping down on her chair at the table.
When the microwave beeped he pulled the cup from it, grapping a teabag from one of the various canisters and setting it to steep. He then snatched a spoon from the drying wrack and padded over to the table, flopping down across from Flarie.
"Why are you awake, dear woman?"
She frowned, and looked down at her tea. She didn't really want it anymore...
"When do you ever see me sleep?...Besides the other day," she added, blushing a bit at the last part. It was true, she rarely did sleep soundly for more than an hour...
"I've seen you sleep a bit off and on..." He smiled softly, lifting his cup to his lips to take a sip. Gah! Too hot! He quickly put it back down, looking over to her. "And if that's what it takes to get you to actually sleep..." He smirked. "You are going to have to find someone else."
She stuck out her tongue. "Like I'd do that again with you anyway." She folded her arms over her chest and leaned back in the chair, looking at the nice floral print on her pajama bottoms. Wow...these were some nice pants...Damn! Short attention span..
"You might..." He grinned teasingly. "If I gave you another kiss... Which I won't." He said quickly after, sipping his tea once more before finally letting his eyes rest on her. "You seem more distracted than usual. Everything alright?"
Her eyes finally wandered up to his, and she growled, sitting back up in the chair and leaning over the table slightly. "That doesn't work on me more than once...And I'm fine. I guess I'm just...tired is all."
"Well... Maybe I should try just to prove you wrong anyways." He smirked teasingly before giving way to a bit of a concerned look. "If you're tired you should go up to bed, Flarie..."
"No! No...I'm not that tired. Just...Uhhh.." She tried hard to think of an excuse...And her mind drew a blank. Great time to die on me, brain.
"C'mon... I'll see you as far as the second floor..." He stood up, downing the rest of his tea before heading towards the sink, looking back towards her. "Upstairs... Let's go."
Flarie gave a heavy sigh, and sat there. "No, you go ahead, I'll go up to bed in a few minutes. Really!"
"Wrong answer..." He sighed, padding back towards her only to stare down at her soon after. "Either tell me what's going on... Go up to bed... Or I'm going to carry you up to your own room myself." That tone of voice... He almost sounded like he was talking to one of the children.
"And if I opt for none of the above? What're you gonna do? Ground me? I'm not one of the children you know.."
"I could pick you up anyways." He grinned, reaching a hand out to run gently alongside her face. "I know you're not one of the kids... But I can worry about you. You live in this house just as much as anything else does."
She rolled her eyes. "A lot of things live in this house. You can worry about them, I'm fine. Go to bed now. Or I'll carry you up there."
He sighed and in that one sound echoed all of the displeasure that anyone could offer to the world... Such drama... So obvious he was a woman beneath all of that manly guise.
"Fine."
With that, he dropped his hand from the side of her face, padding slowly towards the hallway that lead on to the stairs.
With a sigh of relief, she got to her feet and took her stuff to the sink. After she'd set it down, she stood there for a moment, looking down at her reflection in the tea. She knew she couldn't hide things from Skye forever...But it was still so soon...She'd have lots of time to tell him...Later.
She gave one last look at her own reflection, and shuffled off to the stairs, shaking her head. "I am such a horrid person.."

Skye's Thoughts ~ February 20th...
I can't sleep. At all. I went downstairs for tea. Normal enough, yes? No. Flarie was there...and there's something wrong with her but she won't tell me a bloody thing. She gets upset that I won't tell her things but the moment she won't tell me something it's fine.
No.
Things do not work that way. Perhaps someone should tell our little lady that before she destroys my kitchen!
This month couldn't be over soon enough... First Valentine's Day addles the brains of everyone and then that whole experiment in the lab gone wrong. Mind you, I haven't found much disappointment in my time spent as a male. I've made new friends and I've connected with a part of my life that I thought was missing forever. (Not the male half. Another part.)
I will, on the other hand, be glad to get back to my old self... Maybe then Flarie will fix whatever's wrong with her and we can go back to living like perfect strangers in the same house.

Flarie quietly slips into Skye's room in the early hours of the morning, while everyone was still asleep. She still couldn't sleep herself...Nope. Just wasn't gonna happen. She stood there for a minute and frowned...Trying to remember why exactly she'd come in here in the first place...
After a moment she just sighed, and sat at the end of the bed, waiting for him to wake up..
Usually quite the heavy sleeper, it must've been quite the suprise that he actually opened one eye to look at Flarie when she flopped onto the edge of his bed. As his eyes opened further a soft light flooded the room from one of the bedside lamps... It was a wonderful enchantment and if he ever saw that sorcerer again he would thank him for teaching it.
"Thought you weren't ever coming in here again..." He propped himself up on his elbow, blanket falling away enough to reveal a nicely toned torso. There should've been laws against things like that...
She looked down at her nails...Yes, that was a fine distraction...She'd have to remember to murder Skye later...When she felt like it. "I couldn't sleep. And it was boring, sitting in my room all night.."
"So you decided to wake me up?" He raised an eyebrow, a sly grin slipping over his lips. Hell, it wasn't like he'd been sleeping for long anyways...
"Going to finally tell me what was on your mind or are you going to lie down and we'll both get a bit of shut-eye?" One track mind... Silly male mind. Of course, at least the 'one track' wasn't that. It was obviously either sleeping, which he seemed to do too much but never enough of... Or whatever was wrong with Flarie.
Her reply was just a grumble, and she made no move to do anything. She thought about her problem...and started to feel physically sick. Ergh..Not now. She tried to push the feeling aside, and finally looked up at him. "I'd like to sleep, but I don't think that's going to happen."
"It can happen..." He grinned. "Anything can happen." With one fluid motion he snatched her into his arms, pulling her back down against the bed with him. "Lullaby and goodnight... Go to sleep little Flarie..." He sang softly in a teasing tone.
She laughed and looked over at him, poking out her tongue. "I'm not a child, I doubt that'd work on me!" This wasn't so bad...But why did she still feel so sick?..Ergh..
"Seriously, sweetie... You should sleep. Maybe that's why you've been so off lately..." He continued to hold her in one arm, reaching down to pull an extra blanket up over her with the other.
Uck..That feeling...Was horrid. She jumped up off the bed and quickly made her way to the door. "No..No it's not that...I've got to go, I don't feel so good.."
He sat up, keeping his blanket draped over his lower half as he looked after her. "Flarie... Maybe you should see a doctor." He seemed genuinely worried. "You haven't been yourself for a while now..."
She opened the door, and made her way into the hallway quickly, only replying with "Will do it later!" before she sut the door and ran off.
He stared off after her before flopping back onto the bed, pulling a pillow over his face. A scream soon followed, muffled greatly by the fluffy barrier. Damn women anyways...

Much of the day passed, and Flarie was gone for quite a while. She finally came back to the house sometime around the evening hours, still looking very sick, but much more pale than before. She stood outside the door to the house for a few moments...Did she want to go in?... Why not? If she went straight to her room, she couldn't be bothered. That was a good plan. She opened the door slowly, and shut it behind her as quietly as possible, before making her way to her room and locking the door behind her there too. She plopped down at the desk, her head in her hands, and she thought...And thought...Until her head started to hurt. Ergh...Must write down these thoughts so she wouldn't have to think about them anymore. She opened a drawer and reached inside, pulling out a pen and a small notebook. Quote: 2-21-05So...Skye was right. I have been a little off lately. I'm just nervous about...everything. I couldn't sleep at all last night. There was just no way of getting comfortable. So...I went down to Skye's room to see what she...He was up to. Granted, it was early, and I knew he would be asleep...But what else was I gonna do? Sit and stare at the ceiling all night? Things went pretty well, until I started to feel sick. And boy did I feel sick....It just hit me so fast...I had no idea what was going on. I ended up running out on Skye. He suggested I see a doctor. I figured it wouldn't be a bad idea. I'd thought maybe I'd gotten food poisoning or something.. I was off. Way off on that. I went to see a doctor...And she told me I'm pregnant. Yep...Very...Pregnant. I must remember to kill Skye after I'm done being sick...Ergh.. Now how the hell do I tell him this?

He hadn't slept most of the night. He was miserable. Irritated that Flarie wouldn't tell him what was wrong and suffering from some sort of moody insomnia he had locked himself away in his tower not long after she had left his room.
A soft glow eminated from beneath the door, flickering from time to time. Something was going on up there...and most of the household had decided to avoid it for a reason. She stood outside the door, looking down at the light coming from beneath it. She was unsure as to if she wanted to go in...Her daughter Laire had told her that Skye had spent most of the day in there. Was he angry with her? Did he know already?..No, he couldn't possibly know, or he'd have asked about it. She reached out for the knob...then withdrew her hand, and started to walk away, then stopped herself. "Grrr...Stop being so stupid..." Suddenly, the door slipped open and one of the two white housecats, Cloud, came streaking out, ducking into the library where she would continue to hide for the next hour or so. That cat rarely left the tower when Skye was up there... But now the door was left open...
Music drifted down the stairwell... Something that sounded like an odd combination of classical music mixed in with a driving gothic rock beat. So that was where Irvyn had gotten his taste in music... She squeaked and nearly fell over as the cats ran past her. Damn animals..Always running rampant through the house. She looked up at the open door...The music caught her interest. It was certainly different from anything she normally heard. Then again, Lana has taken to singing, and Laire listens to that bubblegum pop s**t. She slowly crept back towards the door and peeked inside.. She would see a dark stairwell that was lit with glittering wall sconces. As modern as the rest of the house was this definately had the 'old world' sort of feel to it. The light continued to flicker from the upstairs area...and the music seemed to drift louder. With a heavy sigh, she moved towards the stairs, and slowly started to climb. Stupid nauseous feeling still clung with her, and seemed to get worse as she climbed. It was probably from the nerves now though, moreso than anything else. The closer she got to the top of the tower the louder the music became... From the last couple of stairs she would see what looked to be a 'typical' laboratory set up with various test tubes and vials along with everything else that wasn't 'typical'. Rows and rows of books lined the walls along with strange talismans and jars of various ingrediants.
And where was Skye amongst it all? He wasn't working on a potion... Instead, he was... Dancing? Yes. Eyes closed, he was waltzing with an invisible partner, loosing himself completely to the tempo of the music. The elven girl slowly slipped into the room, leaning against a wall and watching for a few minutes, her head tilted to the side. This certainly was a funny sight. She only wished she had a video camera on her.
"Where did you learn to dance?" Thinking he had been alone to his thoughts and musings, the sound of a voice caught him completely offguard. He turned quickly to face Flarie, tripping over feet that were still far too large compared to what he had been previously used to, and tumbling to the floor.
From the polished wooden boards that made up the floor of his lab he looked up to her sheepishly. "Why is it that I can never seem to stay on my feet when you are around?" "Because I'm just that beautiful?" she replied with a giggle. "What're you doing up here all alone?" "Perhaps..." He grinned as he helped himself to his feet, dusting off his pants as he did so. "I come up here to think...to sort through my thoughts and clear my mind." "I see," she said. Her thoughts returned to why she was up here in the first place, and another wave of nausea washed over her. She slowly slid down the wall, until she was sitting on the floor. "What is it you need to think about? Doesn't seem like you have very many problems...You're a guy now. Guys don't have problems!" She snickered and looked around the tower. This place wasn't that bad. Seemed like a nice escape from the rest of the house. "What's this? I stand up and you sit down on the ground?" He raised an eyebrow at her before shaking his head, pulling his body up onto his workbench, legs dangling nicely down over the edge.
He pondered her words for a moment before responding. "Sweet Flarie, male in body does not always mean male in mind... What you see before you... That is just an exterior. On the inside I am still the same person I always was... You've just gotten to know me a bit better." He nodded.
The tower was his favorite escape... His workroom for experiments and his hideaway from life. Of course, many of the other various creatures seemed to like it as well. All were missing at the moment though... Yeah...gotten to know you better. "I think getting to know you better was the problem," she said, looking down at the floor. "And I can sit down here if I wanna, I still don't feel good." "Well... Would you prefer that we were still nothing more than two strangers residing within the same house?" He continued looking down at her, unable to keep from feeling a bit hurt for some reason. She felt bad. Maybe she shouldn't have said that exactly. "Well, no...I just..." She stopped, and sighed, looking up at him. "I'm pregnant." His brain stopped working. It had to have. For a moment he could've sworn that his ears had heard Flarie say that she was pregnant. When it started working again things began to click into place... Moodiness... Not feeling well... Yes, it all made sense.
"Congradulations, Flarie." He grinned. "Who's is it?" Men.. "It's yours," she squeaked, looking back down at the floor, pretending to find interest in something there. She so very much just wanted to disappear at the moment...To crawl away and hide. His grin slowly faded from his face and then, before anything could be done otherwise, he feinted dead away, slumping across the work bench and knocking various vials over in the process. Luckily, they were all empty and only one or two rolled to the floor to shatter. With a frightened squeak, Flarie jumped to her feet and rushed over to Skye, checking to see if he was ok. She shook him some and looked around for something that might wake him up. "Come on..Get up...You're a grown...man. Don't do this!" He was breathing... That was a good enough sign. Of course, he was still out cold. Around the room she'd find various vials and bottles of things...a few of them with a strong enough odor to wake the dead, let alone a many who had just passed out cold. She growled slightly and got to her feet, looking through the stuff around everywhere. She opened a few of the vials and sniffed them, finally coming across one she was sure would wake Skye. She held it out as far away from herself as she could, holding her nose shut and sticking out her tongue as she moved back over to Skye and held it under his nose.. His nose wrinkled and he began a series of coughs and sputters that ended with him sitting up, looking dazedly around the room. "I had the oddest dream... For a moment I could've sworn that you said you were having my baby..." She frowned and replaced the cork in the bottle, and put it as far away from herself as possible. "I'm afraid it wasn't a dream Skye.." "But... You can't be... I mean, you can be... But it can't be mine." Denial. "Maybe it was that guy from town that you were hanging around last month... You know... That one who owns that shop with the shoes?" Good job... Keep going on like that and he was likely to get something thrown at him... In his own lab, none the less. For a moment, she looked as if she wanted to cry. "Fine..You don't have to believe me, it's alright," she said moving for the door and sniffling. Wait... She was crying? No. She wasn't supposed to be crying... He hopped down from the table, quickly padding after her and gently taking her by the arm. "I..." He had no idea what to say, but he had the feeling that he should say something. "I'll do whatever I can to help you raise our baby." She turned and looked up at him for a moment...Then hugged him and left, still sniffling. She needed time to think about this...LOTS of time...Dear god...How would they tell the kids?...

Skye's Thoughts ~ Feburary 21st...
Flarie's pregnant. That's the only thing running through my mind right now. Flarie is pregnant. She says that the baby is mine...
Does that make me a daddy? When I finally rever to my former self will I be a mommy?
Taking Irvyn in was one thing...and Ash was another. He had the mind of a teenager to begin with and she? Well... She's a ghost girl! Yes, they need taken care of... But they're not wee little babies.
I... I don't know if I can be a parent. I probably shouldn't be a parent. I don't have anything to offer a new little life. I can't talk my own 'son' into coming out of his tower long enough to have dinner with everyone else!
Flarie deserves someone better to be the father of her baby... Or the other mother... Whichever way we're going to look at this...
How on earth are we going to tell the kids?

She was nothing but a lump on the bathroom floor....Laying there and staring out the window at the partially clouded night sky. She felt horrid..Why'd they call it morning sickness? It lasted all the time. She knew this was only the beginning as well..There was much much more she still had to go through...And at then end of all of it she'd get...A screaming baby? Her mind wandered back to when Lana was still a baby, and at the time she'd found herself lusting after a child of her own. One of her flesh and blood...But Raising Lana was fine...And then came Emmy and Laire...They were all easy to deal with...
But how would a real baby be??
She moved to her knees, and slowly stood up. She finally was starting to feel well enough to go back to bed. Her eyes fell on her reflection in the mirror as she made her way to the door...God did she look like s**t. Maybe this is why she decided not to have a mirror in her room. She shuffled back down the hallway and curled up on her bed, trying to find that sleepiness she was feeling before she'd gotten sick...
But it wouldn't come...And she ended up spending most of the night staring out the window and thinking about the future...And what she had to look forward to.

Laire wandered into the kitchen, and stopped near the table. Lana was already there, and seemed to be waiting for something...
"Hey! They lied to me! They told me there'd be cookies!" She grumbled and plopped down at the table.
The Fa'e just rolled her eyes, "They obviously have something important to say if they want us down here...and had to lie to get you here. Maybe we're moving again or something."
He padded down the stairs and into the kitchen, the little ghost girl held gently in his arms. They had been practicing music when word had made it through the house that there was to be a meeting in the kitchen so it seemed only fit that he should bring her down with him.
He raised an eyebrow when he saw both Lana and Laire alread seated at the table. "You two are here as well?" He sounded a bit confused as he gently set Ash down onto one of the chairs, chosing to remain standing for the moment himself. He didn't want to say half of the things that were running through his mind... 'Great, who died?' 'Who did someone kill now?' 'Is Flarie kicking us all out of the house?' No... Those would all just worry little Ash.
"This is going to be interesting..."
"Ok, this rulles out the moving theory...Since 'Vyn and Ash are here too," she said, setting back and folding her arms over her chest.
"Interesting indeed...Maybe there's a new pet then?...Then again, I don't remember them calling us all to a meeting for a pet before.."
At this moment, Flarie entered the kitchen, looking very much as if she'd just woken up. In all actuality, she'd been up for hours, and was extremely tired. She plopped down at the table, and layed her head on it with a 'thunk'. "Skye should be here momentarily...I think..."
"Nope... Not a new pet. Skye brings those home at the blink of an eye." He chuckled, laughing a bit harder at the glare he recieved from Ash. "No, sweetling... I don't loop you into that bunch."
He was dreading this... Had been dreading this for the entire day. He hadn't slept and, when he made his way into the kitchen wearing the same clothes as yesterday, it showed. His face was shadowed with the beginings of stubble that hadn't been taken care of and his hair was a wild mass of various reds.
"Wonderful! The whole family is here! Now tell us...And give me the the cookies you said would be here."
Lana kicked Laire hard, obviously getting annoyed. Ever since that girl had grown up..she'd been a real b***h.
"Great," Flarie said, hearing Skye come in. "Skye's gonna tell you everything...I'm gonna sleep on the table.." She giggled slightly, knowing Skye would not go for this at all..
"I didn't promise you any cookies..." He made his way across the room, standing behind Flarie, hands going to her shoulders to rub gently. His eyes were darker than usual... Even an angry usual.
He caught the difference in Skye's eyes instantly. Just because his mother was now masquerading about as a man didn't mean that the eyes were any less a window into the soul.
"What's going on?" He looked up to the man who had been his 'mother' with questioning eyes.
Her ears flopped over with disappointment, and she just sighed. "Ok...I just wanted cookies...Can I have them anyway?"
Flarie looks up around the room, shifting the the chair slightly. Shoulder rubs were nice..Especially with all the back pain, from laying on the bathroom floor half the night. "There's...Going to be a new addition.."
The first thing he thought when he head 'new addition' was an add-on to the house. Of course, that wouldn't make much sense at all. There was already so much to the house with enough extra rooms that just seemed to appear here or there as needed. That wouldn't make sense at all...
He looked across the table to Ash who had a big grin on her face, eyes sparkling happily as she mouthed the word 'baby' questioningly in Skye's direction. He then quickly looked in Skye's direction for confirmation.
Skye nodded slowly, fingers tightening on Flarie's shoulders. "It wasn't intended... But the new addition will be loved very much... And we thought we should tell you all as it will effect you as well."
Laire jumped out of the chair, knocking it back a feww feet, and bent over, placing her hands on the table. "Flarie can BREED?!"
"New addition...As in...Baby?! What is wrong with you?? You saw how Laire turned out!" Lana replied, almost jumping out of her chair as well. She looked at Flarie though, and sighed, starting to feel bad...Maybe she should be..Happy for them?
She grumbled at Laire's remark, and said something about her being grounded for a week, which left the little bunny girl in shock once more. "Yes..We didn't really plan on it...But hey, no stopping it now, right? Besides...Babies are fun..." Yeah, You keep telling yourself that when you're laying on that cold linolium floor again later. Shut up brain
He stood there staring for a moment before slipping into a chair. "But... You can't be. Skye's a..." He looked up then looked down quickly, his softly spoken words nearly forgotten about. Something was still very wrong about this. Very very wrong.
He heard the two girls yelling and quickly removed his hands from Flarie's shoulders before his grip became something more than friendly... Something borderline dangerous. "Listen! This baby is coming if the two of you like it or not!" He nearly snarled, voice taking on a tone that seemed almost doubled... Like there were two seperate tones trying to come through at once. "If you don't remember... Laire belong to someone else before coming into Flarie's care, just as 'Vyn did..."
She just stood there glaring at them for a few moments, before stalking off back to her room. It didn't make sense to her...Why'd everyone hafta be so damn moody?..
Lana just leaned back in the chair and sighed, looking down. Skye was right, Laire had belonged to someone else before..But that couldn't have influenced her behavior much. She wondered if having a new baby around the house was a bad idea...But didn't feel much like voicing her opinion..
Flarie layed he head back on the table. The kids would get over themselves in time. They just needed to process the idea...Like she had. Yes, that was it. She snickered at Irvyn's remark, and replied with, "If you havn't noticed, at the moment, Skye is a man.."
"I've noticed..." He blinked before looking up to Flarie. "Congradulations... I guess." He then looked back down at the table, brain trying rather hard to function as he knew it should be.
She stood up quickly and ran over to give Flarie a hug, smiling brightly. This was great! They were going to be a real family... With a mommy and a...mommy and a baby!
He sighed softly as he watched Laire leave, the corner of his eye twitching slightly as he felt a headache begin to creep up on him.
"Well...If that's all...I'm going to go back to my room now, and write about this in my journal." She stood up and walked to the door, only stopping for a moment to say "Congratulations," before walking off to the stairs.
Flarie just shook her head at Lana, and blinked as she was hugged by the small girl. She laughed and hugged her back. "Well, glad to see at least one of the children doesn't mind." She turned to look up at Skye. "How are you feeling?"
She grinned up to Flarie before bounding out of the room at the mention of 'journal'... It was probably a good idea to write all of these new wonderful things down.
"Shouldn't I be asking you that?" He raised an eyebrow as he looked over to Flarie. "I'm not the one with a baby growing inside of me..."
And that was all that he needed to wake him out of his daze and send him out of the room. No no no... Didn't need to stick around when they were going to talk about female s**t.
"Oh I'm just great. I never want to eat again, for the sheer fact it won't stay down anyway..I can't sleep..And my kids hate me. This has been an all around wonderful time. Yep. You know you look like hell? Maybe you should go to bed.."
"Your kids don't hate you... Laire's just confused and Lana..." He sighed softly. "I don't know what she is..." He seemed to have given up at that moment, slipping down along the counter to the floor. "At least Ash seems happy about this... She's the one I was worried about the most."
She giggled and shook her head. "Amazing how the youngest one seemed to take so well to it...Normally the older ones don't care, and the younger ones feel as if they're being replaced.."
"Ash likes family... The bigger the better, it seems." He found himself laughing softly as he eased back to rest his head against the cabinet door. "The others will come along eventually... Maybe it will give them more of a desire to leave the house."
"I'm not letting Lana leave until she's a youth...Then she can have our old house," she said, resting her head on her hands. "Laire on the other hand, seems to have a while with us it seems. She's not nearly mature enough to leave...And you really should go to bed...Don't make me drag you."
"Laire's stuck here one way or another..." He laughed as he looked up to Flarie, mischief dancing through his eyes. "I don't think you could drag me upstairs if you wanted to."
She frowned, knowing he was right...Stupid men.."Well, maybe I can persuade you then? If all else fails, I can tie you up and have the kids help me take you up there."
"Persuade me, eh? Maybe if you go up to bed too...and actually sleep." He crossed his arms over his chest, letting his eyes fall closed for a moment.
Flarie sat there considering this..."Well, I can go back to my room and lay down...I can't promise sleep though. Doesn't seem to come that easily anymore.."
"Maybe I should make you some tea... I have a few things up in my cupboard that are good for relaxation..." He spoke slowly and softly as if nearly asleep himself. For some reason, the floor just seemed so comfrotable...
"No Skye, You need to go to bed...I'm not even sure you could stand up yourself at the moment." She got off the chair and yawned, stretching a bit and going over to lean down in front of him. She ran her hand down the side of his cheek and sighed softly, "Come on, let's go, off to bed.."
A soft smile spread across his lips as Flarie's fingers touched his cheek, eyes opening just enough to look up at her. "I can stand just fine..." He chuckled, gently taking her hand in his own as he stood up. "Are you going to sleep too, sweet fairy?"
She grinned, and stood up with him. "Maybe on your floor, so I know you actually do. Can't have you playing like one of the kids. You know how they are. 'Ok I will,' and never do it.."
"No... You're pregnant... If you insist on staying in my room you'll be on the bed and I'll be on the floor..." He smirked, giving her hand a gentle squeeze before releasing it. "Unless you'd rather I stay in my bed as well. If that's the case, I can guarantee that I'll wear pajamas and keep on my side of the blankets."
"It is your room, I'd hate to see you on the floor...You're sure you'd keep your pajamas on?" She laughed, leaning back against the counter.
"Not that it would matter if I didn't..." He chuckled as he turned towards the hallway. "But yes. As much as it pains me to do so, I will keep my pajamas on."
"You never told me where you got all your current clothes...I know you didn't have any as a woman that would fit you now," she said, following him into the hallway. "Unless you wore clothes that were just that big...But I remember you being a lot shorter.."
"Do you remember when I told you about that woman I met the night I turned into a man?" He really hoped bringing her up wouldn't upset Flarie as he happened to like the woman a great deal friendship wise as well. It was a pity that the two hadn't met properly at the ball. "She used to be a man... We swapped a bit of clothing and then I bought a few things of my own." He chuckled.
"Used to be a man?!" Flarie blinked...Jeebus.."What's with everyone changing sex lately? Is it a new fad or something? Am I missing out on anything?"
"Aye..." He chuckled. "Actually, I prefer that the term for the lovely ivory rose is androgynous... She is neither male nor female, but choses which she would like to be..." He turned towards the stairs, slowly taking them one at a time so as not to topple back downwards. "I changed as an accident. He changed because he wanted to."
"Did I ever tell you about the day that Irvyn turned himself into a female?" He laughed as he remembered that, stopping just outside of his bedroom door before turning back towards her. "He left a bit of that gender potion around the lab and the vial broke."
She giggled, shaking her head. "Dangerous stuff...And 'Vyn as a girl? Was he any moodier than he is now?"
"He was with that dragon..." He snorted, turning towards his door and swining it open. "Of course he was more moody." He shook his head as he padded into the room, making a beeline for the closet. He slipped into it, disappearing for a moment or two before reappearing in a pair of silky black pajama pants and a matching shirt.
"Ah yes, Liv's child...I can't believe she just ran out on Lana and me..." she said, crawling onto the bed and hiding under a blanket, so she looked like just another lump on the bed. "What a b***h," she said, muffled beneath the blanket.
"I'd believe anything about those two, really..." He shook his head with a sigh as he slipped beneath one of the covers...but remained on top of one in order to keep himself seperated from Flarie as promised. "You needn't worry though... I'm not going anywhere. You're in my house."
"I'd think there was a real problem if you'd leave your own house to get away from me," she said, moving over and hugging him tight. She liked his warmth...And the way he smelled. Guys always smelled good for some reason.
"Well... I did let you kick me out of my own house." He chuckled, wrapping an arm gently around her in return. "Don't get used to this, Flarie... I won't be a man forever."
"I don't care if you won't," she yawned, laying her head on his chest. "I'll still luff you anyways. You're my best friend."
He ran his fingers slowly through Flarie's hair, gently pressing his lips to the top of her head. "Such a sweet little fae..." His voice was soft...and getting sleepier by the moment. "All things happen for a reason... Maybe this baby will be good for both of us."
She yawned once more and closed her eyes, finally drifting off to sleep for the first time in 2 days. She was content with the way things were right now..And content with the fact that Skye would change back soon. Maybe the baby would bring them closer together..and they wouldn't have to return to being strangers afterall..
He followed her into the land of dreams, fingers still idly stroking her hair before falling still. It felt good to sleep...

Her eyes fluttered open sometime later in the night, and she sighed. Stupid sick feeling keeps waking her up...Well, at least she'd gotten a good while of sleep.. She looked up at Skye and noticed he was still asleep, so she slowly slipped out of bed and out the door, shutting it as quietly as she could behind her. "Sleeping with Skye again? Isn't that what got you knocked up the first time?" A voice said from the end of the stairway."Shh! You'll wake him up! And we were NOT doing that this time," she hissed in reply to the bunny girl sitting on the stairs. "Whatever you say...I'm going back to bed." And with that remark, she walked off, leaving Flarie alone in the hallway. She just shook her head and grumbled, going back up to her room and sitting down at her desk, whipping out her notebook once more. Quote: 2-23-04Skye and I told the children that we're having a baby....And well, things didn't go so well. Seems that the only one that was actually happy for us was Ash...She seemed overly excited in fact. Laire made a rude comment and left, Lana seemed displeased, 'Vyn just seemed...Shocked. Well, I can't blame him, I was too when I found out. Skye looked like hell. I hate to say that..but...Well, he did. Apparently he hasn't been sleeping well either. But we finally got some sleep after we told the kids...I found it easy to fall asleep next to him for some strange reason. It's very comforting..Though I'm pretty sure when he changes back to a female, he probably wouldn't want me in there anymore... So I have to get back to sleeping on my own somehow. Morning sickness is being a b***h. I practically live in the bathroom. Seems the toilet is my best friend now. How long is this supposed to last? Ugh, I must remember to go out in the morning and get one of those books about pregnancy.. She dropped the pen and shoved the book back in her desk, and wandered back over to her bed, falling face first onto it, and miraculously, falling right back to sleep..

Making some changes...
From all of the racket going on throughout the entire second floor it seemed like the house was falling down around itself... Starting with the room that had once been Irvyn's.
Skye had a long talk with the boy earlier and it was proclaimed 'for the better' for him to move out of the room that had been his since he came to life... Up into the tower where he spent most of his time anyways. 'Vyn hadn't seemed to mind half as much as Skye thought he would. That was a begining...
His things had been packed away nicely and transported upstairs... Everything including his bed and all of his clothing... Of course, that didn't stop the process... There was something else going on in that room...
Flarie's eyes fluttered open, and she groaned...What the hell was all that noise?! Damn kids probably trying to blow up the house or something..
She crawled out of bed and mad her way to the 2nd floor, standing at the inside of the doorway to what used to be Irvyn's room. She yawned, blinked, and looked around. "What's going on here?...I miss a party?"
She would instantly see Skye hunched over various pieces of wood and springs alongside a pile of screws and a large, spread out set of instructions that didn't seem to be getting him anywhere. "Blasted piece of furniture... Who in blazes would think it was this bloody complicated to build a crib?!"
She blinked once again, shuffling into the room and standing behind Skye, looking over the instructions herself. "Did you try actually reading these things? Or has the male brain gotten to you?"
"Go ahead... Make jokes." He grumbled, holding the paper out to Flarie as he flopped onto the floor, dropping the pieces that he held within his hands. "You build it."
With a giggle, she sat down next to him, looking over the instructions. "This doesn't look all that hard...Where did you get this anyway?" She layed the instructions down, and starting to sort through the various pieces on the floor around her.
"Went and did some shopping today...while 'Vyn moved his things up to his tower." He glanced over the instructions once more, finding two pieces that looked like they belonged together. "Bought some paint and a crib...and other little things to turn this into a room for the baby." He really sounded like he was completely into this idea... That they really were going to have a baby...
"I see," she said, watching him try to put things together. "Was I really asleep that long? What time is it?...And you didn't make Irvyn move out of here did you? I'd feel really bad if you did.."
"You've been asleep for the better part of the day..." He chuckled softly. "We all thought you should probably wake up and eat something but none of the kids would go anywhere near your room."
Success! He finally found a piece that fit into another piece! He would triumph over this blasted bit of furniture one way or another...
"I didn't make him move. We sat down and had a talk while you were napping and he agreed that it would probably be best for the baby to have a room downstairs. The room's even big enough for you to stay in there too until the little one's older...and I'll be right across the hall." He nodded slowly, smiling up to her.
"I...Wel....Wow," she said, scratching her head and looking around the room. "You've really thought this through.."
She giggled at the comment about the kids, "Yes, I know..I think Lana has tried waking me before...Didn't go so well. I remember something about her saying she never wanted to do it again...Maybe she warned the others.."
"You have to think things like this through..." He turned a soft smile towards her after locking another piece into place. "Strange s**t happens around Gaia all of the time... We don't know if you're going to be pregnant for nine months or nine days." He shook his head. "I want everything to be ready for the baby...and I want you to know that I'm alright with this like I said I was."
"Nine days?! Please...Please don't scare me like that." She reached over and grabbed some pieces as well, starting to put them together as per the instructions. Maybe this would distract her from the oncoming nausea..."I'm glad...That you're getting used to the idea...At least you havn't fainted again." She laughed, remembering when she told him about it the other day. The thought of a grown man fainting...was just funny!
He laughed, looking over at her pieces... Ignoring her comment about fainting. That wasn't something that he wanted to remember. He couldn't remember fainting before... Even as a female. "Looks like these pieces will go together... Maybe this isn't that hard afterall."
She handed him the pieces she had stuck together herself, and stood up shakily. "See, I told you it wasn't that bad. You just have to actually read the instructions. Now, I'm going to go..for a bit. I don't feel so well."
She turned and walked out of the room, and after making it out the door and into the hallways, the feeling got worse, and she ended up running the rest of the way to the bathroom. This was going to take some getting used to.

Skye's Thoughts ~ February 24th...
I've been working on this bloody crib for hours... Still not finished... Stupid hands can't find the right pieces... Stupid brain can't comprehend the instructions. There's just too much of it.
I'm not going to sleep until I finish this damned thing... Can't be much more, eh? Just needed a little break to write... I think I see that piece I've been looking for.
Sometime later he finished the crib... Far too tired to make his way back to his own room he simply collapsed onto the floor, curling up to sleep beneath his beautiful piece of work.

Early morning came, and Flarie cames walking through the door with a few bags in hand. She didn't care how early it was and who was asleep, she was dead tired after staying out most of the night.
She made her way up the stairs, stopping occasionally to catch her breath. Stupid stairs...Until she made it to the 2nd floor, and stopped off at 'Vyn's old room to see if Skye had actually managed to put the rest of the crib together himself..She was rather surprised by what seemed a much smaller version of Skye laying on the floor...Hrm..It had to be him, the clothes were the same as yesterday..
She set her bags at the door and walked in slowly, peering over and nudging Skye with her foot. "Morning sunshine?"
The nudge to the foot accompanied by the words sent Skye springing up into what would have been a sitting position had she not been sleeping beneath the crib. A loud 'thunk' was heard followed by a trail of curses that was anything but lady-like. The voice was no longer deep and velvety... It was, instead, soft and a bit melodical... The female Skye had returned.
She stood there giggling and peering under the crib, looking the newly changed Skye over. "I see that stuff finally wore off..You're pretty again!" She stuck out her tongue, "Sorry I woke you up."
She dropped to hands and knees, crawling out from beneath the crib before plopping back onto her backside. "And I wasn't pretty before?" She chuckled, running her hands back through her hair... Eyes widening when she felt something that wasn't there before. "Er... Do me a favor? Check my head for a bump... I don't want to be going crazy...er... But I could swear to the goddess that there's something there."
Flarie blinked...Skye was right, there was something that wasn't there before.."One sec," she said, running out of the room, and returning a minute later with a mirror, handing it over. "Maybe it's better if you see for yourself..."
She looked into the mirror, one eye going wider than the other. A slender hand gently moved to prod at what looked like...a horn? "Well I'll be... I must have hit my head harder than I thought..." She poked at it a bit before pricking herself off of the tip. "Ouch!"
"Did that potion have some kind of...odd effect?" she said, sitting on the floor next to her. Skye with horns? This would take some getting used to...If it wasn't the potion...Would the baby have them too??
"It shouldn't have... I mean there wasn't any ingrediant coming from anything that had ho--" Her voice trailed off as she lowered the mirror to her lap. "Oh my... This does make things interesting..."
"What? If it didn't come from the potion what did it come from??" She wasn't exactly worried, just..confused as hell at the moment. She didn't just gain appendages randomly..
"I had a great aunt... Or grandmother... Or something like that. She was a strange woman... Well... The family always said that she was part dragon..." She laughed it off, waving her hand through the air. "All a bunch of foolishness, really... I me--." She sighed, calling a particular memory from within the past month to mind; cheeks flushing a vibrant red.
"What?...Continue! I hate it when people just stop in mid-sentence...They seem to be doing that a lot lately."
"It seems that I have awoken the dragon." She chuckled nervously, flopping back against the floor and staring up at the ceiling. It was far too dull... She'd have to do something about that... "I was warned that too much magick entering one's system could be known to have interesting consiquences... And, now that we're sitting her talking... I do recall using a bit of magick that I don't normally have as a man."
"So...The baby is going to be...part dragon? That'll certainly be different..I've never..had to deal with anything like that before..Please tell me it won't be like Jia!" She was frightened..Who'd want their kid to end up like THAT?!
"No, no... Hell no." She shook her head, locks of hair flying here and there as she did so. "Jia was fire oriented and more of an oriental type... My family are all from the Celtic Isles... No oriental fire beasts there..." She snorted. "Child won't make it to their teens if it's like that..."
She giggled and climbed to her feet, looking down at Skye, "Well, I've got some clothes and stuff I need to put away...And many books to read..I think I should go get a head start on that..."
"Alright." She grinned. "I'm going to head downstairs and grab something to eat before coming back here... Gotta get this room painted." She leaned over, giving Flarie a peck on the cheek before ducking out into the hall and off towards the stairs.

Flarie blinked, and stood there for a moment, and shook her head. She headed back out into the hallway and grabbed her bags, going off to her own room, and putting her new clothes away. She had begun to wonder what color Skye was going to paint that room, if they didn't even know what the baby was yet. She wondered if she should be worried...and the room wouldn end up..yellow or something. Yellow was blinding.. She plopped down on the soft seat at her desk, and slipped some of her new books into a drawer, before reaching into another and pulling out her notebook. Quote: 2-24-05Well, the potion finally wore off, and Skye is female again. I think I scared her, when I went in there and woke her up. Seemed like she hit her head pretty hard...It was funny though. I just can't tell her that. She has horns now. It was...odd to see to say in the least. She told me she's part dragon..That's news to me. Does that mean the baby will have horns too?...Dear god, that'd make giving birth VERY painful... She got the crib together, and it looks really nice! It's hard to believe that soon there will be a baby to put in that crib..It scares me slightly..I havn't taken care of a baby since Lana.. Well..anyway..Now she's going to paint the room. God forbid we end up with yellow or orange..

The baby's room...
For the past two days she had slaved away in what was going to be the baby's room... Leaving only to visit her friend, WinK for a couple hours as well as to grab a few more things from various stores before returning to what was quickly becoming her new 'dungeon'. The room held her as tightly as any cage would a wild bird... She wanted to be free of it and yet, she still held on to her perch... Only too happy to sit there and sing as she worked her magic with the walls as well as everything else.
The walls had been painted a beautiful shade of midnight blue and, with the help of her star charts, various constellations had been painted on them in silver...enchanted to give off a soft glow when the lights were turned down low. Curtains now shaded the windows, held back by matching suns and moons that had been painted just as carefully as everything else.
Above the crib dangled a mobile of stars that would play a tender lullaby as it spun above the baby's bed. Another bed had been set up in the room for Flarie...or whoever would sleep with the baby... Maybe they would alternate...
Other pieces of furniture had been ordered... A hand-made toybox with an intricately carved top along with a large amoire that would be made to match... This babe would want for nothing and she would see to it. Heavens only knew that this could be her last chance to have a child. Afterall, it had been so many years already and nothing. It wasn't as if she hadn't been trying... Maybe she was barren as a woman.
She sighed as she stood there, looking around and admiring her work. It didn't matter now... She would have her baby...and it would be Flarie's too.
Flarie wandered down the stairs, still dressed in her pajamas...Even though it was around midday. She didn't really care how she looked anymore, as after reading those books, she found out she'd be looking like s**t for a while at least...
She was walking past the room, when she stopped, backed up, and stood in the doorway, behind Skye. "Wow...It's really pretty in there...Did you do it all yourself?" She stared at the room in awe...The baby had such a nice place to stay now!!
She simply nodded as she stood there, breathing so softly that there was a chance that she may have been asleep. Of course, her eyes were wide open...and she hadn't fallen over yet... So it was up to anyone's guess that she was indeed still awake.
Her eyes were currently fixed on the mobile, watching as the stars danced throughout the air. In her mind she almost heard a gurgling giggle... "I know it's early... But... Do you think you'll be having a girl or a boy?"
She pondered this for a moment, wondering which she'd rather have. Either would be fine really.."Well, there have been an abundance of girls this year from what I've heard...But, you can never be too sure."
"I don't remember the last time I've actually been around a baby... Both 'Vyn and Ash were children when they came under my care..." She shook her head slowly, tearing her eyes away from the spinning stars long enough to look towards Flarie. "Too late to be wondering if I even should be a parent, eh?"
She giggled in reply, and slipped her arms around Skye, hugging her tight. "I'm sure you'll do fine. I've never dealt with a..human baby. I raised Lana from a baby...But things were different. She could hardly cry as a child."
She stiffened within Flarie's embrace at first before relaxing, wrapping one of her arms around the other woman in return. "I've been around this place for more years than I care to count... But at least you had some sort of baby handling experience with Lana... Even if she wasn't a normal baby. You've still got a one up on me." She chuckled.
"The kid's going to hate this room..."
"I don't see why anyone would hate this room. Hell, I don't even think Lea could hate it. And from what I hear, he doesn't like anything." She let go and looked around the room once more. "Where did you get all this stuff?..I'm just...Simply amazed at how well you did with this. And why didn't I get to help?!"
"Stare at one thing for a long enough period of time and you will..." She chuckled softly, hand moving in order to let fingers run back through her hair. "I had some of the paint sitting around... But, for the most part, I had to go out and get some more. I stopped in town on my way home from visiting with WinK..."
She closed her eyes for a moment, hoping that she wasn't going to end up touching on a tender spot every time the mentioned the angel's name. She really hoped that one day Flarie and WinK could be friends... "You didn't get to help because you were sleeping... None of the kids were allowed in the room either."
She acted as if she didn't hear half of the conversation, and walked around the room, looking at things. "Well, maybe if you'd asked, I would've come down and helped," she said, sticking out her tongue at her, before leaning over the crib to look at the mobile. "And I can understand not bringing the kids in..I think Laire may still be pissed at me.."
"Irvyn's disappeared into his own world again...and Ash wanted to help so I told her to go and draw some pictures of her own." She shook her head slowly. "You're going to have to have a talk with Laire soon, you know. It won't be good for either of you to continue arguing once the baby's here."
"Yes yes, I know. I'll talk with her later tonight or tomorrow. Irvyn disappearing again eh? He hasn't been down to Lana's party has he?..I let her have one, since her birthday was a few days ago..Not quite sure how it went...But I trust her."
"I don't believe he has..." She ran her fingers through her hair once more. A party in her own house and she hadn't even noticed. Hell... She had been off in her own world, hadn't she? "He needs more male interaction. It can't be easy living in a house full of females..."
She giggled and moved back to the doorway. "Then for his sake, I hope we're having a boy. We could use more males in this house, I think."
"Dunno... I wouldn't mind having another girl..." Her soft chuckle gave way to a yawn as she flopped down against the bed, muttering a few more things that couldn't be understood before passing out.
Flarie stood at the door for another few moments, before moving in to cover Skye with a blanket. She stood over her for a minute, looking down. Skye had spent so much time putting such a wonderful room together for their baby..She'd have to do something nice in return. She quietly slipped out of the room, shutting the door behind her, so none of the kids could disturb her.

Skye's Thoughts ~ February 27th...
The house has been far too quiet lately. It's a bit unsettling. Irvyn has holed himself up in his new room... Rearranging things and making the necissary changes to make that tower 'his.'
Ash has been spending more and more time with her phoenix, Altair. I suppose that I am to blame for that. I have given her hope that just as her bird is reborn, that perhaps she too can be 'reborn' in a sense... That maybe, just maybe, she can right what was wronged in that fire and regain her voice. She has such high hopes... I couldn't crush them.
I should get back to work... Go and spend some time at the Living Stone. Everything there has gone forgotten about... I don't want to lose intrest in things so easily. I haven't lost intrest in my humble little shop... My mind has just been elsewhere.
If I distract this easily now... What will happen when the baby comes?
I shouldn't be a parent... But it's a little to late for that, isn't it? I won't back out on Flarie now. I told her I'd be there for her and I will.
