Sokato looks away from the building and yawns. He did that on purpose as a way of saying the building does not excite him. "Three more, one should come by himself, and the last two should come in a pair." Thats figuring that Yue would get here after Reaper and Hrisskar, and that those two would come together. "Either that or they well end up here one by one..." Thats figuring that Anima will teleport ahead of everyone else leaving the old man by himself in the forest...

"Fine then. You go on in and see the boss. Tell the ones waiting inside, they'll give you the directions to him. But be warned one wrong move an' the guards won't hesitate. The other's will wait for you here, as you will if you get finished before they get here."
Turning and leaving, the guard began to walk back to the gates. He seemed to be a bit unnerved.

((I'm still here. Just, the entire squad went AWOL right after my first post. I'm sad. crying BUT! exclaim The game goes on!))

Joel was slightly miffed at the lack of response to his query, but he pushed the matter aside. There were more important things than the emergencies of a foreign security team. He could, for example, get his carving set back. He set off for one of the city guard towers. One rough thief-frisking later, and a beautifully engraved and polished box sat on a desk in front of him. Joel opened it. Everything was there; all the knives, sandpaper, matches, and miscellaneous utensils were in their places. Relieved, Joel closed the box. It had been a present from his staff six months ago, back when he had a staff. They might have been alive still, but he doubted it; most of his home city had been drowned, stomped by monsters, and irradiated, in that order. Joel put down the box so he could arrange a pouch for it.

WHAM.

He was in a library of some sort. The aisle was easily twenty feet wide and the same high, so it had to be a main aisle, but he didn't see an exit. Just rows and rows of books. There was no sign of how he had arrived here, and no sign of his carving set. A small book lay on the floor in front of him, lying with its pages open and one page ripped. Someone yelled behind him, but the yell was cut short by a crash. Joel turned around. Three people in robes were trying to pin down a giant scorpion, which was larger than all of them put together. A fourth had just been thrown into a book case, knocking a couple of large books off.

Joel tackled the scorpion, yelling "flip it over!" He tried to lift one of the legs. The two librarians who had been holding the legs let go. The scorpion hopped around to face Joel. He grabbed the mandibles before they could crush him, and the scorpion pushed him back to bookshelf. The librarian who had been thrown joined his fellow holding the tail; the other two carefully picked up the books that had been knocked down. "No, no, forget the books, get the scorpion first!" Joel yelled, climbing the bookshelves. The scorpion lifted its front end up on the lower shelves, jaws snapping as it tried to follow him. The two librarians finished picking up the books and came back to holding the legs. The scorpion was forced down to the ground. Joel took the opportunity to jump on to its back. Unfortunately, he knocked a book down when he jumped. The librarians holding the tail went to pick it up. The tail smashed down. It missed only because Joel's jump had landed him at the base of the tail, where the stinger was too long to reach. "What's wrong with you people?" he shouted. He tried to hold on to the stinger. With a flick of its tail, the scorpion threw him down the aisle, where he skidded to a stop somewhere past the open book that had been by him when he arrived. Noticing the book, all four librarians made a beeline for it, releasing the scorpion in the process. The scorpion charged straight for him. He retreated hastily, looking for something to stop the monster. He didn't find one, but one of its legs brushed the torn page. With a soft shlooping sound, the scorpion was sucked into the book.

Moments later, the librarians were sorting books on the shelves exactly as if nothing had happened, except for one who was carefully gluing the torn book back together. Cautiously, Joel walked to the one librarian. "Did we win?" he asked.

"Ssh." The librarian hushed him. It - the librarian could have been anything under those robes - put away a tube labeled Plot Sealant.

"Where is this place?" Joel asked, more quietly.

"Quiet in the library." The librarian shelved the book, which was named City of Urkal, written by an unknown author.

"Okay, which way is the exit?"

"Hush."

"Um, right." Joel backed away slowly. The librarian wasn't going to help him. He walked off down the aisle looking for the exit. After all, it couldn't be too far away, right?

((Sorry, I found Rappelz DX))

Sokato did not say another word to that guard, and walked into the manor, inside the twisting corridors of the manor, Ace simply showed the guards the letter, and they pointed the way, not wanting to speak much with Ace.

((Sorry for the sorry sad sack of a post. Its late, and I am tired.))

((Okay, I need to clarify something. Is there a specific mission we're doing here, or is everyone pretty much off on their own thing?))
PostPosted: Thu Apr 03, 2008 5:35 am

))As far as I know:

- Me, Sotako, Anima, and Magiking (Yue?) are off hunting dragons or something. (Actually, what ARE we doing?)
- Xinny, Paradigm, Frogtaur and Rapier are all in Urkhal I think. Might have missed off one or two people there. Anyway, they're off catching thieves.
- And the squad that Matt Lutz is in, as far as I know, they're still in the VR room, stood around after Eva's death. I forget who else was in that squad.))

((Thanks. Anyways...))

Riku sat in the lab, a USB cord running from the computer into the back of his neck. He was using the main computer to analyze the data he had obtained. Mike sat next to him, munching on a sandwich.

"So, you downloaded all this from the computer in the base?" Mike asked between a bite.

"Yea. But this isn't all of the information. It looks like it's just technical layouts on the REQUIEM. So far, it looks like something out of a Schwarzenegger movie. But this is what I don't understand," he pulls up a small window on the monitor. "It looks like a file was supposed to be here, but it was deleted before I hacked in. The strange thing is, it was deleted TEN MINUTES before I arrived. It's like they knew I was coming."

"That's pretty wierd," Mike says. "You know, they might have set you up. They could have leaked that info about the base on purpose, so you would go there."

"It's not likely," Riku said. "Anyways, I'm gonna go clean Amaterasu."

"Amaterasu?"

"The Saleen," Riku said as he walked away.

Oh Lord, now he's named it, Mike thought to himself.

"Meh, It was okay."

Anima said blandly while standing up.
He turned toward the direction where he saw some high walls.
And started seeing if he could pick out where the guards were from this distance.

"Nope."

He thought to Himself.
He then turned back to Hrisskar and smiled.

"How about you, old man?"

[[im back for a short time, i will continue my individual mission]]

A man entered the bar, and no on payed any extra attention to him. He walked straight up to the bar and sat next to the stranger. "Are you the one requested?" the man asked the stranger in a hushed tone.

Shadow gave no responce. Instead, he stood up and left the bar. The man that had spoken to him followed without a word to anyone else. Once outside, he looked around for the stranger but couldn't find him. Then he heard a low, calm voice behind him. "Don't turn. I am the man requested. My name is Shadow Dragon. I am going to leave here, and I will show up at your house tonight. Nod if you understand." The man nodded, and turned when there was no responce to his nod. The stranger, named Shadow, wasn't there.
