User Image Still breathing uneasily from her angry tirade, Annabel was attempting to calm herself down, looking Simon straight in the eyes. Well, s**t. She hadn't meant to scare him that badly. Sitting down on the edge of his bunk, Annabel reached out and put a gentle paw on his shoulder, unable to muster a reassuring smile. She simply sat for a moment- giving a soft squeeze on the shoulder in an attempt to convey something- and looked away.

"...I'm the one who put them there, Simon." She barely whispered, loud enough that only he could hear. Still, she couldn't bring herself to make eye contact- she'd vowed to protect him, and here he was, stung to hell as a result of her anger issues. No other word could describe her physical demeanor but wilted- ears and tail drooping, she shook her head.

"God, I am so, so sorry. Is there anything I can do...?" Annabel asked, finally managing to look him in the eyes. Christ, he just looked so... beaten, was the only way to put it. Still keeping her distance, she shifted a little more towards him, finally removing her paw.

"I am so, so sorry.."

Annabel had put them there?!

Simon's form stiffened noticeably the moment those words reached his ears. A bitter sea of thoughts ran through his head, potential responses, questions - the most prominent one being why the hell did you put a BEE'S NEST in the CONFESSIONAL? - but he couldn't work up the nerve to say anything on the subject, knowing that Annabel already felt terrible about it and he wasn't about to make things even worse. So he stayed quiet, and... well, saying he relaxed again probably wasn't the best way to put it. It would be more accurate to say he sagged.

Really, the deal with the bees was only half of why he looked so sad at the moment. He had ultimately been unable to properly vent about his run-in with Chris that night, and the whole ordeal was still flashbulb-fresh in his mind... and with the way that it had ended, with the host laughing after him, he had a feeling that wouldn't be the end of it.

Not by a long shot.

He sighed, and offering his weakest smile yet at his teammate, suggested, "You don't suppose there's a way we could beg some ice off of that crazy chef, do you?"

User Image She nodded in slight agreement to the question of begging Chef for ice- if not on that, she'd go to Chris about it, if she had to. Simon didn't seem like the type of guy he'd hate- hopefully, he'd stop being an egotistical p***k for two seconds and understand. Thinking only a flash on the host, thought, Annabel attempted to put some of grace back into her actions. Slowly standing, as to avoid the bunk above her, Annabel simply stared at Simon a moment. Christ, she'd never make up the trust to him that she'd just lost... moving toward the changing station, she quickly nabbed the bowl of water and cloth, scurrying back toward Simon.

"We'll get you some ice, easily," she cooed gently, trying to keep her anger as in-check as possible. Sitting on the edge of the bunk once more, she wet the cloth, looking up to Simon questioningly.

"For now, we can wet it. That'll help. And if we can't get any ice, I can probably nab you some baking soda. That gets rid of the swelling." Annabel gave a sheepish smile at this.

"Or, it did when I was a kid. Unless the laws of science have changed in the last few years, and I missed the damn memo, we should still be good." And, hopefully, that one would be easier to get. She'd personally go to Chef for it, if she had to- if not, to Chris. Groveling to the rat b*****d wasn't something she particularly wanted to do, but if it was for Simon- to make up for this- her dignity could be damned for a day.

Still absently wetting the cloth in the bowl, her smile faded.

"I.. I didn't mean it for you. I didn't mean it for anyone in our cabin- that's why I put the warning out there last night. I just get... angry. A lot. And I'd thought... I don't know, someone else being miserable would make me feel better." At this, a sad smile.

"Guess I'm no better than the Rat b*****d, huh."

Bleary-eyed, she set Edward and Bella under her pillow and turned to survey the room. "W-What's going on?" she said, seeing Annabel and...Simon? Yes, that was his name, right? She was too sleepy to remember if she had introduced herself to him yet.

"W-who was voted off..?"

He didn't protest at the suggestion of the wet cloth approach - really, anything that was even cool sounded like it would be heavenly right now. Ice would be wonderful, sure, but he'd accept anything he could get his paws on here if it meant a bit of relief in a place that promoted so much misery.

"Oh, hi," he smiled at Helena, giving a small wave. "You mustn't have stayed to the end of the ceremony, huh? It ended up being Cotton."

He turned back to Annabel, mustering up a reassuring look and tone, saying, "Oh, please. You're way better than that guy - I bet he wouldn't ever apologize or admit he's wrong to anyone, even with a bazooka pointed at his head."

"C-Cotton?" she said quietly. The first girl to talk to her at camp. Not to mention, her very first friend...she may never see her again.

"I...didn't even..get t-to get her number...." she sniffled. It was true, she had a phone. But only her parents, servants, and tutors were in her phonebook..

Pulling the sheets over her head, she held her breath and squeezed her eyes shut, trying not to cry.

User Image Still intently staring at Simon, at this point moving the rag to begin cleaning his face, Annabel flicked her ears at the other girl's entrance. She made no move to say hello, focused on the task at hand- tenderly, but still with enough firmness to get the job done, she was applying cool water to all of the swollen areas. Tail swishing quietly as she worked, a sad sort of smile took her face.

"I'm sorry to sound like a harsh b***h here, Helena," She said quietly, bringing the cloth to the bowl once more, and resuming, "But somebody had to go home. And Cotton didn't make the jump," Annabel continued, as if that justified the entire thing. Pursing her lips slightly as she resumed work, she cast a glance over her shoulder to the lace-ridden girl.

"And... I can give you mine, if you want it, any time. You never know who's going home next, so I'd enjoy your friends while you have 'em."

She paused, then.

"Or we could use this to learn- next time, we're not getting our assess kicked." Her focus was entirely back on Simon, now.

"Not hurting you, am I?"

Or at least Annabel was getting to the swollen places she could see. There were certain other areas of his anatomy that had been stung, but since expecting her to deal with those would be a very awkward and uncomfortable experience for the both of them, Simon planned to try and take care of those by himself later on. He didn't add anything to the conversation about Cotton getting voted off, just listening and sitting still for the moment so Annabel could work more easily.

He had to admit, it felt pretty nice.

"N-no, y-y-you're fine!" Simon stammered. He'd managed to let his mind drift off to somewhere pleasant for a while - but now he was snapped back into reality.

Calming down a bit, he sheepishly continued, "I-I mean, even if you were, I don't think you could hurt me as much as those bees did. So you're fine."

Ratchet was having a really interesting dream. One of the better ones she'd ever had, about a sapient T. Rex that only listened to her and was running around an amusement park. It was probably her subconscious's way of making up to her for having to vote somebody off last night. She and the dinosaur were having fun together. But the T. Rex was gettin' all loud and stompy- too loud and stompy for her! The commotion woke her up to see that there was not, in fact, a loud and stompy T. Rex coming down on the cabin, but a swollen Simon, an angry Annabel, and Helena making sniffly sounds above her. "W... wu? What's goin' on?" she said with a yawn. "What happened?" Rolling out from under the blanket, Ratchet shook her head to clear it. She'd apparently slept through the wake-up call, and she was confused.

User Image When Ratchet started speaking, Annabel's ears flicked. Turning to look at the mechanic once more, there was no sympathetic smile- she was out of those for the day, it seemed.

"Simon got stung by bees, and we're talking about the voting last night. Cotton's gone, and Helena's upset." She said simply, not bothering to elaborate with the details she'd given the nerdy boy. Returning her efforts to Simon once more, she dabbed the rag back in the water, going in for a second attack at the particularly bad spots. Working just under they eye, her mouth fixed as she worked, Annabel was silent for a moment.

"...You think so?" She asked quietly, again only on tone for Simon to here. Pulling the rag back from his face, she looked him over once, frowning slightly. They couldn't have only gotten his face, right?

"...Do you have anything, uh. Above the belt," she said, a hint of a blush playing at her cheeks, "that you'd let me get for you?"

...Wait, s**t. That sounded bad. Backpedal, backpedal!

"I mean. It's the least I can do, after setting the whole thing up.."

User Image - Blocked by "Display Image" Settings. Click to show.Helena sniffled and mumbled something about Cotton being too shy to jump..They did have to vote someone off..she just hoped it didn't have to be someone she had already met.

Hearing Annabel's offer she nodded under the sheets, but realized the movement probably wasn't visible, being hidden and up high. So she told her a simple "Okay." and turned around in her bed, holding Edward and Bella close.

Cotton. The girl who didn't jump. Ratchet remembered her. She was a sweet girl... but... well, she didn't jump, and she was the only one on the team who didn't. Shaking her head, she peeked around Annabel only to see a very, very swollen Simon. "Holy crap that does not look good. Need me to run and get something? Ice? Think that bowl of aloe would help any? We never poured it into a water bottle, and it's still under my bed."

Simon removed his glasses when he noticed Annabel started focusin more on his face, so she wouldn't to jostle and adjust them every ten seconds. He idly wiped away some smudges on them with his shirt while Ratchet got a concise summary of what happened, and added, "One of the Sharks lost a team member, too. It was... another girl, Laura or something like that." And Chris had looked pretty happy to see that one leave...

"We might try and get ice later, but..." His ears perked a bit. "Aloe? I guess it's worth a try..."

Simon tensed up and turned momentarily red at Annabel's suggestion, but quickly shook it off. After all, it's not like he had much to hide or show off, and it wasn't anything that she wouldn't see in his swimming gear anyway. "Ummm... I guess?"

Momentarily scooting away, he gingerly peeled off his shirt and set it off to the side. There were indeed plenty more nasty stings here, trailing down his back well past the waistline of his pants.

The sight of Simon had snapped her awake, which meant that Ratchet was able to grab the bowl and bring it swiftly back up to Simon and Annabel without any trouble. The green goo smelled a little funny, but it would hopefully get the job done. She didn't have much experience with stings, but the tube of aloe they had at home said it was good for scrapes, stings, and burns. So maybe this stuff would help.

((According to the internet, aloe is good for bee stings. It'd make the pain go down, but not the swelling.))

User Image "Aloe would help the pain, and soothe the skin," she agreed, ignoring the comments on a lost team member. Call her unsympathetic, but what was done was done; they wouldn't be getting her back any time soon. It was for the best not to dwell, and simply move on. That way, less time would be spent being unproductive and mourning the lost.

Or maybe it was just because she hadn't met Cotton; were Simon or Ratchet to go, Annabel would likely hit a funk- and by funk, she meant attacking the nearest tree as much as possible. Would they miss her, though? She'd been plenty of a b***h to warrant some hatred on her part- honestly, she was shocked the cabin was getting on so well with her. Maybe it was because she could at least fake an apology for the worst of it.

At the sight of his swollen body, Annabel visibly winced and hissed slightly, turning the other way. Good GOD, the bees had gotten the boy once more. Taking the bowl of Aloe from Ratchet with a thank you, Annabel resumed her work on Simon once more.

Constantly, she was switching between wetting the spots, then applying Aloe. It was taking a while- and she was definitely trying not to let it fluster her (How many guys' chests was she going to have to take care of here?!), but it was just what she had to do. She'd set all of this up, after all.

"s**t, Tiger. They got you bad."
