The next time his eyes opened, he wished they hadn't. The man had come in multiple times, and each time had done the same thing again and again. Cuts and bruises adorned his wife and child as if they were trophies, while the red and blue splashed their bodies as if it was warpaint. Nothing more than Ted's wrist had become hurt, more like raw and bloody, because the man left him to struggle in the presence of the beatings.

Right now wanting nothing more than to die, he felt a twinge in his consciousness, but after it quickly disappeared, he ignored it for the time being. Then a noise brought his attention back to the matter at hand. Instead of just one man coming in, four did, and they all carried vicious looking knives and daggers. While not knowing what they were for, Ted just knew they couldn't be for anything good. When they didn't come for Ted, but instead went for the two women, Ted just knew that they were in trouble.

Struggling even more, he managed to bloody up his arm more than ever, which gave him some maneuverability in getting out, and he almost made it when they looked at him. Smiles displayed across their faces, they all plunged their knives into the scared women's bodies, earning loud scream of pain, not just from them, but Ted as well. "KYOKO! AYAME! NO!"

The men continued stabbing the bodies until no more movement and sound was admitted. Then, turning back around, the purposefully licked the blood off the blades, and walked towards Ted. One of them, the one that normally came in, spoke in an amused voice. "This is what you get, you little freak. We tried to tell you a long time ago that we all hated you, but you never listened. Now you won't listen ever again, if ya catch my drift." Unfortunately for them, Ted hadn't, and something inside of his snapped. That was when Hell broke out on Earth.

Samuel flinched at the strength of the question.

He stepped forward and explained the loss of Kayla was her decision, since she had judged herself incapable of going on after the injury she had received, and he had been incapable of carrying three. She had been weak. He then elucidated that all he knew of the lost Demoniac was what Gurul had told him of the remnants, a class seven demon and other, smaller demons of a number equaling three, the likes of which had been made truly free upon Earth by the actions of the Demoniac, who Gurul deemed foolhardy. With that, he bowed to indicate his report was finished, and stood there to wait for Legion's response.

Legion sighed and stood up. He paced for two minutes of burning silence, then looked at them again, and asked, simply:

"Who among you think we should attempt to retrieve her, assuming she is not already dead?"

His pacing had allowed a brief (very brief) drop in the concealment. Someone new was one the scene, and had needed to be allowed knowledge of his location.

Aurelie pulled her deep purple motorcycle up at a curve on the wide streets of LA, placeing both feet on the ground as she glanced around. Her shields were up, letting knowledge in but masking her output of power, thanks to the amulet around her neck that she had crafted with the help of her new teacher, Apolline.

Aurelie glanced up from the tiny map she held, no longer pretending to read it to appear inspicuous. Behind her half helmet she closed her eyes and listened. Then she turned her head towards the heart of the city with a grimly excited smile. She couldn't wait to meet the all powerful Legion that she had been told so much about.

Aurelie picked up her feet and revved her motor, the cycle shooting out into traffic and towards the heart of the city as she bent low over her bike, passing cars and laughing out loud from the excitement, getting herself the impression of Apolline rolling her eyes.

"I...uh..." she looked a little embarased. "I have a voice in my head. Of a warlock. From the original cabal. Making their deaths insignificant. Vassily doesn't remember you, by the way, and he says some doubtlessly well-intentioned but unfortunately antagonistic things that I'd rather not repeat."

Joe raised his hand, looking Legion fully in the eyes. "I think we need to get her back. Our merry band is rapidly shrinking...and I don't like it." He was masking his pain and fatigue well, hoping that Legion wouldn't pick up on his momentary weakness.

Erik joined Joe. "She's too valuable to leave there. One, she has information regarding us and our activities, and two, she has the rare talent of summoning demons into herself which, from what I've seen, has the potential to be an immensely powerful asset on the battlefield."

"Indeed, I agree... Sort of. Gurul definitely does not, however, and I somewhat agree with him as well. If she does not have the strength to escape on her own, or even to go on with a single injury in a semi-vital area, I, for one, would not wish her to be at my side. I do, however, agree that as a uniquely talented demoniac, she may be very useful in the future. If anything, we must either eliminate her before information is spilled or retrieve her before the same." Samuel's voice was grim in its inflection as he gazed at the others. "Safety of our location and purpose must always be held first, no matter who gets in the way, be it comrade or enemy."

Joe shivered and stepped away from Samuel. He was glad that he was taking his side, but...was he really on his side? He sounded like one of those self-preservist guys that managed to serve just themselves.
Roland, I don't really like him. At all.

Apolline seemed to take a deep breath and hold it, making Aurelie roll her eyes. She pulled her motorcycle up onto the sidewalk with a dull roar, cutting it off and looking up at the mansion. As she tugged her helmet off she raised an inquisitive eyebrow.

Excitement made Aurelie want to hurry. But instead she set her helmet down and shook out her hair, then moved up the steps, glancing back at her cycle once before stopping at the door. She tugged her ribbed black tank top back down, fixing her elbow length black gloves that she and Apolline had wrote incantations all over the inside of earlier, and tugged at her jeans, then stomped her boots.
Apolline laughed.

Auelie raised her hand on rapped on the door, flinching when the knock echoed and resounded loudly enough for her to hear, then stepped back and clasped her hands behind her back, waiting.

Gathering strength he didn't even know he had, or even cared that he had it at the moment, he ripped off his bindings, screaming bloody murder at the group in front of him. He jumped at them, swinging wildly. If he was in a right state of mind, he would have noticed the flames lacing along his arms, but he didn't, and all he cared about was the revenge he was about to extract on the men in front of him.

As they scattered, he thought of freezing them in place, and they became encased in ice, allowing him the time to catch them all. Throwing lances of earth. and sending out shoots of metal, Ted watched in fascination as every single one of the men were consumed by his fury. Then, with one last shout at the heavens, he unleashed a fiery rage so strong, it blew up the compound around him, incinerating anything that was organic. He only saw black again as his mind gave out under the stress.

Alan chuckled at Kayla. Resisting he urge to ask if she was sure she wasn't schizophrenic, he moved on to the next best option.

"Of course he wouldn't know me," Alan commented with a vague sneer. "Why should he? I'm just another Forsaken to be slaughtered in the course of Legion's combat testing. Do you know why Forsaken never work with you outside of the combat training and never show mercy? It's because he wants Forsaken and Warlocks to hate each other, so each gains the most from their combat tests. As for the Resurrection, Legion sold a ******** of innocent people's souls to arrange for certain of his favorites to make it to today."

He leaned forward, smirking now.

"How does it feel to know... Vassily was one of them. Your very existence and state, Kayla, came at the cost of hundreds of souls of people whose only fault was proximity and convenience to Legion."

~~

A burst of energy had Aurelie feeling vaguely nauseous at the sensation of the mansion sliding towards her, as though she were suspended in space and the rest of the universe was moving.

"Well, looks like we hit par," Legion commented derisively. "Are you combat ready?" he asked without anything leading up to the question.

Apolline advised.

((and please, dara_kitten, make use of commas. They're lovely things. Magnavar, please speed this up a little and get to the rest of the people, please....))

Without thinking, Kayla punched Alan in the face, as hard as she could. She was suddenly furious, and the emotion was only half hers. She could feel Vassily's enraged screams in the back of her mind, so basic he didn't even bother articulating them into any recognizable English. She had to make a concious effort to loosen her jaw before she could speak, and even so through gritted ******** off, dead man. My state of being has jack s**t to do with Legion. You think I volunteered for this? You think Vassily volunteered for this? He's not here for himself, he lived long enough as it was. He wouldn't even have tried if not for her!" She was about to go on when she realized that she hadn't intended to say those last few words. In fact, she didin't have the remotest idea who "her" might have been.
