It probably doesn't help that the "innovative" feature didn't work.

Well, obviously. Like I said, unless you have the budget of Halo or Final Fantasy, or you work directly for Nintendo, you're probably not gonna be able to pull off these innovations. But if you don't bother with them, then your game is gonna get dismissed as another generic title which brings nothing new to the genre. Who cares!? You know, I'd pay $60 right now, for a PS3 game, which is a generic 3rd person horror game with generic, slow moving zombies, and a generic zombie virus storyline.

Well, it's not PS3... But I just got my wish. I picked up this PS1 game called "Martian Gothic: Unification", which was rated as an okay addition to PS1's library of Survival Horror games. And it's just what the doctor prescribed. Pre-Rendered backgrounds. Tank controls. Zombies... On Mars, mind you, but Zombies non the less. I've only played like 10 minutes of it, but so far so creepy. The voice acting is obviously not amazing, but the script is actually pretty good, so far. I'm looking forward to getting through this one. Seems like a worthy title, I'm glad I discovered it. Perhaps it can fulfill the void that was left by the fact that I didn't really like Dead Space. You know, zombies in space.

Well, today, I got Siren for PS2, from a trading site. And I gotta say, the 7 minutes of it that I played so far are pretty impressive. I like the artistic style and how they approached facial animations, it's really original. And hey, this might just be the first and only over-the-shoulder horror game that actually scares me.

I've always wanted to play Siren. It looks like a nice game.
