Kianga sat up as she heard applause and another cougar's voice. She smiled and waved to her. She then got up and followed the cougar's advice, and tried about 3 times, turning up to be near perfect on the last one, but toppled over close to the end of her cart wheel. She then sat down for a second and then jogged over to the huntress. "hello!"

"Good effort." said Naketa approvingly as the kitten finished the three new attempts. She enjoyed seeing determination and energy in the kittens, they were the future of the clan after all. As the other cougar came up, Naketa nodded to her in greeting. "Hello. Who might you be?" she asked in her slightly brisk and sharp voice. "I'm Naketa."

"I'm Kianga."She sat down criscrossed. "I like trying all of these differant jumps and exercises, they're so much fun!" Kianga seemed to always have the energy to do anything. She looked over to Naketa's bow. "Wow, is that yours?" Kianga looked at the bow curiously, amazed by how tall it was.

"A pleasure to meet you, Kianga." said Naketa. She nodded. "Yes, and they help strengthen your body too." she said seriously. Looking at the bow, Naketa picked it up. "Oh, yes. I got this bow when I became a huntress." Looking at Kianga, she asked "Would you like me to show you how it works?"

"That would be great, sure!" Kianga had always wondered how the huntress' of her tribe hunted or used their weapons, but she never got to see the huntresses leave for a hunt or practice. Her mother was a huntress and had told her to stay away from the practice area so she wouldn't get hurt, or to always stay home while she was out hunting.

Naketa nodded. "All right then." Getting up, she picked up the huge bow, drawing an arrow from its quiver. Getting her body into the correct stance, she affixed the arrow to the bow and shot it into the sky, watching it arch through the air and then descend down to earth, htiting the ground with a thwack. She went over to pick it up and returned it to the quiver. "Shooting a target is a bit trickier." she said. "But it's an excellent weapon."

"Wow, that is a cool weapon. I wonder if I'll ever be able to learn how to use a bow." Now Kianga saw why her mother never let her anywhere near the practice area. What if one cougar acidentally released the bow at the wrong target? that could be dangerous...

Naketa sat down again. "You might one day. Hunters must learn to use at least one weapon." She pushed a bang away from her eyes. "It's hard work to become a huntress but to me it's a satisfying job." She changed the subject. "So what do you like to do, Kianga?" the huntress queried.

"Hmm.....Theres quite a lot." Kianga started to think about most of the things that she liked to do."Well I love being outside a lot, trying to practice stealthy crouching and to also be agile, and well, trying to do jumps and such." Now that she thought of it, maybe she could try to be one of the best huntresses, she would just need practice.

Naketa nodded. "Excellent hobbies to have. It looks like you could have a bright future as a huntress if you tried." Not that she was being pushy or anything, but a little advertising of her job was never bad. "The outdoors is nice. It's never the same, different every day." It also provided any number of hiding places for prey, which could be frustrating. But on the bright side it provided any number of hiding places for a huntress. "Are you good at your hobbies?" she asked curiously.

"Well...not all of them. Whenever my mom sees me practicing she makes me go to the cooking fire to be watched over by the homemakers, or to see if they might need some help while cooking." Kianga didn't understand how her mother, a huntress, could make her work with homemakers. Didn't she want her own daughter become a huntress?

Homemakers? Naketa, not knowing what position Kianga's mother held, assumed she too was a homemaker and wanted the position to stay in the family. "Well homemakers have..." Homemakers... She was no good at being encouraging about them since she herself didn't know how they had the patience to do their jobs. Naketa itched to move, the Homemakers were forever doing chores. "They're very patient." stated the Head Huntress firmly. "But you should do what you want to do. Ending up in a position you dislike is a terrible thing."

Kianga nodded. "Well sure, they are patient. But their errands are so boring. I would like errands that would have to do with moving or catching something...even a mouse would be ok." She agreed with Naketa, ending up in aposition you dislike is a terrible thing. She would never imagine herself as a homemaker.

((I wasn't confused, but Naketa doesn't know who her mother is. :3))
Naketa couldn't argue with the kitten and tempting as it was, she didn't think she should say that out loud. So she excused herself. "I must go now. It was mice meeting you, Kianga. Maybe our paths will cross again soon." The huntress stretched and nodded towards the kitten politely before leaving.

Kianga waved goodbye to Naketa. She really enjoyed talking to a huntress who wasn't for once her mother. She bristled at the thought of being able to hunt one day...whether if her mother wanted het to or not.
