Letter from the author.
shameless bump for lack of update still waiting on Follin but don't want anyone to forget I am working on a nice and interesting story for all of us to experience from beginning to end. It will involve lots of character you may or may not have heard of. It will have a running back story for anyone to catch up on anything they missed and don't forget I still update the trivia quiz every once in awhile and will do so with more frequency once the RP actually starts(I don't want to ask a new question until it actually starts if you're wondering why I haven't updated yet.). I'm looking forward to a fun and fulfilling time with you all. I just hope we can get everything in order so you can Enjoy the RP as much as possible soon.
if you are impatient as I know most of you aren't, since no one has started yelling at me yet, please refrain from yelling at Follin. He's taking his time to make sure his story is as good and comprehensible as it possibly can be. and since his story plays a big part in the beginning of the RP it's difficult to get everything in order for it to begin before he finishes.
there is no set ending for the RP it will only finish when: the main adversary loses the will to fight, is destroyed, or all the character die, or go home unsuccessful. The route to the end is not set in stone there is no one way or right way to make it. there are restrictions however you must stay together unless absolutely necessary to split up. where you'll be able to go in the galaxy will be limited to a set number of planets and regions. you won't be go everywhere the RP isn't big enough and it would take much too long for that, however you will have choices of where you can go. and you don't have to do everything. but the plot must be furthered by your actions in some way. you can visit any planet that has it's own subforum however traveling to a planet that has no plot device may resolve a plot device on another planet preventing you from gaining that insight into the story. The GM will be able to keep you on point with plot devices giving you information about what's happening on certain planets. so that you can pick and choose which plot device sounds more important. the same plot device can be resolved in multiple ways.
say for example that you'll learn something important about the main adversary when you defeat a minion of his, and you have three different planets where you can fight one of his minions through out the game. they will probably be at very different points in the game and either be using the planet event to distract from what they are up to or the cause of the event, which will have seemingly nothing to do with the main adversary until the minion is defeated, where by, he will reveal what the main adversary was up to on that planet.
all the while you'll have other plot devices going on the the background on other planets. depending on the length of time it takes to resolve a plot device and the length of time given before a plot device resolves.
for example the main adversary issues you a challenge on X planet if you don't go meet him there immediately he'll leave and the plot device will resolve unable to be redone unless he issues another challenge, which may or may not happen(Don't count on it.)
however in a case such as this(Mandatory plot devices.) all other plot devices(events) will have their time suspended if they are either A) the last way to learn that piece of info about the story, or B) the only place that plot device can be found(most these will be never-ending, or long-lasting. for this reason, excluding mandatory plot devices which if not resolved right away will never be able to be resolved again(by right away I don't mean a few minutes after posting it I mean time passing in the game I may suspend the game for a few days during a mandatory plot device to work out the dialogue and the event so that it is as fun and insightful as I want it to be).)
that may not make alot of sens mostly because I've got it all jumbled in my head and only most of it on paper and it's hard for me to explain but after your first few events and plot devices you'll get the hang of it I swear, if you don't understand me already, so don't worry about it.
so until my next update,
bye bye
Raziel.
P.S. post in my general thread if you have questions.
P.P.S. the one in the star wars subforum.
