I'll see.

That last time I played Gears I wasn't real thrilled with it.

I'll try it though. 3nodding

I'm willing to try anything. wink
Go give Insomniac some mouth love razz

This whole thread has taken a violent turn for the weird.
That tends to happen when I post.

Im inclined to believe that Part Time Viking is a subsidiary of the Tango Cooperation, or a Web Ghost created by Tango.

Kudos if you can get my specific relation.

and the Wak Corporation will buy out the Tango Corp. and Part-Time Viking through that. xD
Suddenly I'm an important asset.

I'm not going to say it.
I'm not oing to say it.
I think I've maxed out my randomness quota for tonight. I'll maybe come by to make that joke later.
Know that the Wak cooperation cannot afford my superior singlely-owned Tango corp.

To tell you the truth, when I played it, I was amazed at how good it is. I was like "I thought this was supposed to be a launch title?" xd
Insomniac is a fantastic developer, one of these days I'm going to really push for getting my copy of Resistance back because I need to do some more online play in preparation for Resistance 2...

You see, Raunzel, what you're experiencing here is the gradual (but inevitable) progression of complete superiority of PS3 titles over 360 titles. While the 360 will always be able to output impressive graphics, they will be unable to keep up with the sheer depth and potential of PS3 titles. Mass Effect could benefit on the PS3 by having a better, more challenging AI. Gears could benefit by being longer, with a broader color palette. Halo 3 could benefit by looking like a next-gen game. Oblivion has already benefited by having more content on one disc, as well as having a larger field of vision and better framerate. This is just the tip of the iceberg when it comes to the PS3's technical superiority.
*wicked grin* twisted

Oh man, that felt good. I haven't let that out in a long time.

Yes, but Tango corp. has certain...... privelages that you can't even imagine. *recieves a suitcase from the mafia*
Fact: when Tango corp merges, it is always quick and hard, and Tango corp is always on top.

You're telling me I was GONE for this? Omg, I'm in an all-out WAR on Youtube with this Gears of War fanbitch.

I love both games. I think they're both great fun to play.

Resistance: Fall of Man is my choice, it was one of the most deciding factors in my choosing a Ps3 over 360.

Gears of War's visuals, while exemplary for its kind of game, really goes overboard at some times. The gore, blood, and mutiliation of the game is completely unreal and a lot of times ridiculous and pointless. That's my main thing with the headshots in the game - you expect to tell me that shooting a little bullet in someone's temple will knock off their heads, necks, collarbones, and trapezoids? In Resistance, while there is blood, it's not the main focus of the game. This way you can spend more time focusing on killing the guy and getting the best score instead of eviscerating someone in the most drawn-out way possible. Don't get me wrong, a lot of things like chainsaws are a hell of a lot of fun to do (and imitate in real life), but in the end, I find it to be pointless.

I think Resistance is put together a lot better. After all the time Gears of War has been in development, it is PACKED AND WEIGHED DOWN WITH GLITCHES. Go on Youtube. You'll find: Girly Carmine. Wild West Carmine. Chainsawing someone from two feet away. Shooting someone in the chest with a sniper and getting a headshot. It's way too much. In Resistance, I've not found one glitch and never lagged once.

Resitsance's multiplayer is INTENSE. 40 goddamn players. 40 super-skilled players. 20 on 20 or 1 against 39. In Resistance, it's 8 players. 4 on 4 or 1 on 7. While I'm not saying 8 players isn't intense; I've played some great games and had intense fun with only 8 players, but 40...damn.

I prefer Resistance's weapons. Gears of War's weapons seem to be based on "how can I agonize my enemy the most?" And while there is great variety, and I commend Epic for being creative with it, eventually the gore ends up being uncalled for. Resistance's weapons I prefer, because the combination of its primary and secondary fire makes you think "what's the most strategic way I can kill my enemy? Should I make a shield and block his fire while I shoot him through a wall by using the Auger? Should I tag him with a Bullseye tag so all my Bullseye shots attract to my enemy? Should I use the grenade launcher in the Carbine to get him with one shot, and when he gets up attack him with the automatic fire?" There's a lot of different options that you can use to make your gameplay strategies work for you.

The campaign...Gears of War's campaign I played a lot through co-op with my friend. Granted, it was intense. Dark...horrifying...killing Locusts...but the story seemed to be nonexistant. All I seemed to be doing was running around killing the Locusts just because I could. In Resistance, you're killing the Chimera for two reasons: 1. To find out what the hell is going on and what I should do 2. To survive. Also the story seems to progress better.

My choice is Resistance, simply because I think it raises the enjoyment of the game without raising the crudeness of the game. It's horror--not slasher. It's like movies. The line between scary and slasher movies is ever blurring. Resistance seems to maintain its position as a horror game, while Gears seems to just be a "rip him to shreds and cut his heart in half" game. And while that's probably what Epic was going for...it doesn't do it for me as much as Resistance did.
