"Oh, Triton, I didn't mean..." She hadn't meant that this wolf should join her right away! "I was just suggesting that, if you were looking for a new pack, then maybe you would come and visit me in Acropolis! Of course I wouldn't pressure you into Acropolis though...it was...it was just a suggestion," All the while in her explanation, she was backing up, tail between her legs and ears completely flattened. What was wrong with her? She was three years old! She never did this! She didn't have to be so nervous just because of this wolf... But at the same time, everything inside of her screamed: 'APOLOGIZE' and 'STUPID GIRL'. "Yes, maybe settling down with the pack would be best though...But, maybe I could escape sometimes..." She half-heartedly laughed. Oh, what this wolf did to her...

"Hey..hey now.."
Triton spoke softly, trotting towards Elayi who was clearly in distress over either his answer or her words - he couldn't quite tell, females were complex creatures after all - but Triton hated - really hated - to see them in distress. chuffing softly at her he bumped her under the chin with his muzzle.
"..no need to tail pinning and the like...of course I'll come and visit you - although you might have to give me a few directions I've never heard of this Acropolis Pack before now"
He continued with a slight laugh as his own expense for not knowing this pack - a clear attempt to cheer her up some.

Elayi calmed down. She over-analyzed too much. "Heh," She sat down again, and bit at an itchy spot on her leg. "Then when I'm allowed in I'll come look for you sometimes. Old Hepheastus doesn't like roaming around his lands. He's a bit protective..." The femme looked back up at Triton, and slid her muzzle under his too, returning the favor. Maybe she needed to just...settle down. She could do it, as long as she wasn't alone. She hated being alone. Having to sleep in a cold den by yourself at night. Especially for a wolf who was going to throw herself at Triton and stick to him like glue... She made herself sick.

Triton considered her words for a few moments.
"Over protective is he? ah well - that can be a good thing I reckon"
He finally commented - of course it could also translate into 'cranky old coot' but as he'd never met the beast before or heard anything about him until now Triton decided to reserve judgement for the moment.
"What type of Pack are they? large? lots of members?"

"I wouldn't say large, they have five or six. Most of it is family. But they accept wolves in need of a home...heh," Elayi lifted herself up and started to rub against some of the large rocks by the river. Wiping off the water and absorbing the heat. The brown femme stretched and whined, then lept up onto the same boulders, scouting the area. "So what about you, Triton? A bit of a wanderer yourself? Or do you prefer to stick to this area?" She pushed herself up onto a higher boulder, cringing for a moment when her paw slipped. That wouldn't be good. But the view from the rocks were nice.

"four or five is a pretty decent number"
Triton answered as she stood to climb up onto the boulders, having retired to a lay on the beach and sun himself the burly male lifted his head in slight concern as she slipped for a second.
"Me eh..I haven't really decided yet, seems like a nice enough place but I think I'd like to see some more of the land before truly finding a place to settle, was the whole point you see - of leaving home to begin with"

"Yes, I guess so..." Inspecting a dead lizard, she pushed it away and perched precariously on the rock. The noon sun was rising now, lifting the clouds with it. Though it seemed beautiful, it also caused her fur to get hotter. Ick. Leaning over the side, she looked down at Triton, sprawled out down by the river. She lifted her paw in a slight wave, a wag of her tail. "So, how do you like the river?" She asked casually, yawning.

Triton was considering moving off closer to the treeline - and taking advantage of the shade provided by the towering tree's when Elayi asked him about the rive. casting his gaze over it he stood and stretched.
"It seems like a fine enough place, waters clear - lots of game roaming about. Why do you ask?"

"Oh, just curious," She smiled at him again. Was he as tired as she was? Or maybe she just wasn't used to waking up early in the morning. She was laying her head down now, watching some birds in distant trees. They were raising some baby birds, and one was taking flight for the first time. How...nice. She felt her eyes close for a little while. Maybe...oh, screw it. Life was full of maybes'. She should just shut up once in a while.

As Elayi closed her eyes and seemed to fall asleep Triton rose to his feet and stretched, wandering off into the woods. Elayi had turned out to be a good friend and he was fairly certain they would see each other again, but for now he found himself rather hungry again - the rabbit earlier had not been much of a meal and rather then disturb his friend merely trotted off to see to the problem himself.
((and that probably wraps it up ))
