"Y-you-!" Shino jumped in surprise and immediately his head met with the underside of a tiny table he was crouched under, causing him to wail out in pain and clutch his head. "Y-You b*****d, I'm just as good as you! I ain't no D-class! I'm A-class as in I'll kick you a**! Nggnnghh..." Stupid Abel surprised him.. didn't expect him to notice Shino so quickly.
Shino followed Abel but avoided sitting on the floor and instead chose the loveseat, having gotten disgusted of the feeling of cold, hard, concrete. "I'm not a boy! I'm a man! I'm 19, you idiot!! Stop treating me like a child!" He shouted as he slapped the plate of food from Abel's hands. "And I told you to stop smoking! I'll die from secondhand if you keep up that rate!"

Abel jumped and managed to catch his food with his other hand. "First I heard of that. You're still a brat to me. I'm..." he paused to think. "25. And you're D-class. I'm elite. S-class, higher than A-class, kid." he snubbed out his cigarette. "Sorry but don't loiter if you don't like it. Smoking is a stress reliever for me." he admitted.
"So....what do you watch on tv, Shino?" he asked starting to flip channels. The news had nothing good and he wasn't getting work from the gang he needed something to do.

Shino laughed, "25, eh?! You're so old, you old fart! Older by 6 years and I'm still a hassle to you~!" He was proud of himself. At least he was a good enough to be a nuisance to the assassin. "And screw S-class~! I don't give a damn~! I'll still kill you! I'm set on it!"
Shino leaned back against the couch. It seemed pretty worn and dusty but it felt like clouds compared to the floor. "..I like.. .. boxing matches..wrestling..cartoons.." Shino yawned. Wait. What was he doing?! He shouldn't be getting relaxed aroudn this killer! Yet...he couldn't help it. Exhaustion ached throughout his every bone. Shino looked half-groggily at Abel. "You must have a lot of stress," he snickered. "I hope you get lung cancer or have to breathe through a hole in your neck.."

The chanel stopped on cartoons as soon as it popped up on the screen. Abel began to eat once more and glance back at Shino. "Well whatever. It's the fact I'm in deep s**t I guess... no way a kid could bother me so much... Or maybe I'm just stress because I've not been out in a while... Not like random killings help me any..." he sighed heavily and light up yet again.
Yeah, he hated killing most everyone he was sent to. Most of the time it was random to him and mostly innocent seeming people. Gods he still had nightmares on this one couple too. But in his world it was kill or be killed; and he was trained to kill.
Scratching his neck he finished his food and got a bottle of water to drink. Coming back he sat by the kid on the old love seat of his. All his furniture was second hand and bought with cash, much like all his things.
Blowing the smoke away from Shino he spoke up once more. "What else... Keep talking, Shino." he quietly bid to the other.

Shino instinctively scooted far on the opposite end of the loveseat when Abel came around and even went so far as to crawl and sit on the arm of the seat. Eventually though, he slid off the narrow arm to rest a lot more comfortably in the love seat again. "Who said you could sit by me?" he growled, but he no longer held vigor in his voice. He was too tired.
"And I'll talk if I damn want to talk! Not if YOU want me to!" He sighed after that however, knowing he couldn't keep himself from not talking. "******** your stress man.. you don't know stress.. you get paid assloads I assume and get to live a nice and comfy life and all you have to do is kill a few people you don't know. Not to mention you're trained for it to.. "
Abel disgusted Shino. He would've had Abel long under the ground already if he could've. "Do you even think about the people you kill? Their families? Ha!" SHino laughed but it was obivous he didn't find it funny in the slightest bit. "No..no you don't..I'm glad you're in deep s**t..deserve it.."

Abel's face grew dark and more deep lines set in. He wasn't heartless! He did think of the people he killed. Hell he light insence for them and everything! Damn brat didn't know nothing. Frowning he sucked back more water then blew smoke right at th kid. "Can't blame me. It's the way I was raised." he said simply.
"And you better pray I have a real long life," Abel said sighing out a cloud of smoke from his lips. "Because as soon as I die, you'll not be far behind... Thank your lucky stars I got to you first, brat. If not you'd be aped, tortured, and maybe killed if not left for dead so they could do it all over again... Hell they'd have me on the rack for this!" He barked out another laugh. "s**t I really must be loosing it...." he rubbed his eyes and leaned back.
Looking back over to Shino coldly he shrugged. "But I do have a shitload of money... None of it seems enough though... Not for killing it's not..." He looked over to his little insence burner in the room. "Which reminds me... Hey, light up three of those for me..." He said handing the lighter to Shino. "Not two, not four, but THREE exactly.... I need them burning..."

Shino coughed and held his chest as Abel blew a cloud of smoke right at him. The dirty... ...was that really the only answer he could muster?! It was short..simple..and cold to Shino..he wanted to punch him in the face for it. So, he didn't want to be blamed? Maybe Abel did have guilt somewhere in his heart. Still, in Shino's eyes, Abel had a choice. He didn't have to choose to kill.
Taking the lighter Abel gave him Shino desperately wanted to just light Abel on fire..but the little lighter would never accomplish anything so, with a sigh he set down to work lighting the incense. "What the hell is this s**t even for..?" he grumbled as he lit one up.
As he lit up a second he thought back to what Abel said before he ordered him to light these stupid things. It confused him. "Why do you keep talking like you're my savior or something?! Like you're risking your life or something for ME? Getting me food and clothes and s**t.. you think I'd really die without you?! " Shino lit up a third one and stopped as instructed. "It confuses me.." he admitted as he started to light a fourth in his distraction.

Abel smiled sadly as he watched the fire flicker to nothing but a dim glow, and eventually that glow would snuff out just like the lives he took. Coughing he finished his cigarette. "I keep forgetting you're the only one who doesn't know..." he said stretching out. "You have a price on your head, Shino. Someone, namely my boss, wants you dead... So I kind of picked you up and stuffed you in here. I do my homework, you're not bad or have done anything wrong. Besides you're just a kid... Kids don't need to die in a war like this..." he sighed closing his eyes.
"One for each life I take...." he murmured tiredly. "It's a superficial omage to the dead.... Japanese... I think. I don't know. I wasn't taught that kind of stuff.... Um, I think you light them for the dead...." he said unsurely. He started it maybe seven years back.
Yawning he looked at the kid. "I'm tired. Be a good boy and go to bed alright... You know where your room is right? That or just sleep here. Wander all you like, this is your only paradise." Abel said getting up and brushing his dark hair out of his eyes.

Shino immediately whipped around to stare at Abel wide-eyed as the other revealed quite simply that Shino had a price on his head. He...was a target..? "M-me..?" he stuttered. He would've slapped himself for stuttering under normal circumstances but this was a shock and scare to him. His parents died from a hit.. he saw it.. it was the most terrifying thing he had ever seen..he parents had ran..and ran...but they were caught in the end and terminated.
Terminated by him. The man sitting in front of him talking about Japanese omages or something, talking about respect for the dead and compassion! It ignited a fire in him once more and he pinned his eyes, glowing in anger, onto the assassin who murdered his parents.
Before he allowed Abel to escape Shino leapt off the loveseat and grabbed Abel's wrist. "WHAT MAKES YOU THINK LIGHTING ******** SCENTED STICKS WILL EVER MAKE UP FOR WHAT YOU'VE DONE?!" He screamed at the older male, teethed bared and eyes shining wildly, his grip on his wrist growing tighter and tighter. "And what makes you think I want to be trapped in this lonely hole here with YOU?! WHY are you SO compassionate to a hit all of a sudden?! What makes ME so special?!" Panting heavily there was more he wanted to say and shout but his ribs hurt and his throat ached too much.

Once again Abel let the boy yell at him. If it were anybody else he'd have ripped their vocal cords out and shoved them into another oraphis. But Shino got the special treatment of bad mouthing him to his face. Tossing a grim look at the younger man he shrugged. "Not a damned thing. But it's a great ******** example of what happens in life... One after another everyone burns out." he said.
Then reaching out his free hand he gave a strange smile. "I just told you didn't I? I can't kill you...." he twisted his arm away and rubbed his wrist looking away from the boy's adorably angry face. "It just don't sit right. You did nothing but follow me around like a cying cat.... I just can't..." he hissed and ran a now irratated hand throgh his hair.
"Whatever, just go to bed. I'm tired from blood loss and s**t. And you ain't a hit, Shino. You're a god-damned person like the rest of them!" he bit out before stomping off. When did he get so mushy and start explaining things to people, let alone a kid who didn't know any better?
Abel stomped off to his own room. Simple like the rest of the place but his bed was large and fluffy. The only strange thing he owned. Everything else was cold and metal but the bed was delicate wood, with sheets as deep red as blood. He hated the color but it really suited him. He would never see the blood stains on it.

For some reason...those words hit Shino deep and echoed and ached...echoed and ached...never before had he ever considered Abel capable of a heart or feelings but those words and that grim look he gave Shino..it sent shivers down his spine. "Th-then..why..?"
Everything Abel said just made Shino more and more confused and it was almost a huge relief to see Abel storm out of here. He needed to be alone. He really needed to be alone. Curling up on the loveseat with his head buried in his knees he started to sniffle and then started to cry. So.. if he ever left this place..he was going to die..? He'd be forced to stay here forever..and Abel was going to make sure of that..but that meant Abel had to stay in here forever too..and he was okay with that..? Why..?
"You're a god-damned person like the rest of them!"
Abel refused to let him die or kill him. Did Abel.. really regret everything he had done these years? The candles..those words.. Shino almost felt...pity. "NO!;;" he suddenly jumped up and shouted at the air, panting. '..he killed my parents...he killed them...' That's right...that fact didn't change.. it didn't matter how sorry that old man was.. he killed his parents..
With a heart full of conflicting feelings, he cried himself slowly to sleep.

Abel sighed flopping into the bed in his shorts with a gun under his pillow and a knife on his leg. Curled up in the sheets he fell asleep with a blank mind like usual.
Time Skip
The next morning he woke up early like he usually did and was tempted to go back to his warm bed. BUT, he had a pet to take care of. Frowning he grumpled and got up. Checking his wounds he redressed them and left his knife on.
Leaving his room he stalked back to the kitchen to start on a breakfast for his crying kitten. Once he got back in he noticed the kid was still on that couch....

Shino tossed and turned all night, but not once did he wake up. He merely had a restless, restless sleep. Not having a blanket or soemthing didn't help either.. it was rather dank and cold and all night he had goosebumps. Where his lay has damp from his tears the eventually stopped flowing.
Stretching and then letting out a shaky breath, the boy slowly blinked his eyes open. ... "Abel." Shino stated simply as he gazed drearily upon the older male. It was so early..he couldn't tell exactly what time it was without a window or a clock or something, but it just felt..early. So, he was too tired to really know what he was doing or saying. He'd probably drift back to sleep and forget all of this.
"Go back to ******** sleep.. " He groaned as he plopped his head back against the couch. "...damn wet.. couch..dirty..smelly thing..."

Abel smirked. "Not if I'm making you breakfast I'm not..." he said walking over and then lighting up a cigarette and puffing on it a moment. "If you want I'll take you back to your room... So you can sleep on a damn bed." he said with a sigh of smoke. "Then I'll bring you breakfast... What you want, Shino?" he asked scratching his head and yawning. Going back to bed was sounding good right now.

Shino lazily waved his hand around in the air. "Fine..fine.. whatever.." he yawned, sitting up and stretching his arms. "This couch sucks.. it's a total piece of s**t.. " he growled as he stood up and kicked it. "..tch. You'd think someone like you could afford better.." He yawned again. God, he was tired. "Breakfast in bed sounds nice..show me the way and I'll follow.." Shino was so sick of himself right now.. being so friendly to this guy. He kept forgetting his objective.
