Luci continued to look up at him with her bright, innocent eyes, "...She isn't your favorite? You spend a lot of time with her, and she makes you smile the most." She let a smile of her own play on her lips at the thought, thinking it an endearing sight to see as she remembered watching Lavi and Sil interact one day.

[[ Hey all~! ]]
After being away for quite a long while, Michiyo was glad to find on her return that she was just in time for Liv's birthday bash, not knowing before some random bits of conversation in the hallways informed her that it was actually around this time of year. Desperate for a last-minute gift, she had decided to bake up some spice cookies, figuring sweets and snacks were always a safe bet as a present. After slipping into a dress dug up out of her wardrobe - she could not recall ever buying it though - she hurried downstairs to the ballroom, clutching a small white box decorated with a golden bow to her chest.
Inside, loads of scientists and staff were already wandering about, chatting cheerfully with eachother, enjoying the - she was glad to see Jerry's hand in all this - obviously delicious snacks and generally having a good time. With a swift scan of the room, she located the birthday girl, hanging out with Kiah. Michiyo quickly made her way over, grinning as the infectious party mood took hold of her.
"Liv!" she exclaimed once she got close, "Happy birthday! This place looks amazing! As do you~" She gave the girl's dress a quick once-over, before thrusting out her present. "It's not much, but I hope you enjoy them. Hey Kiah!" She ended her gushing with a cheerful wave at Kiah.

((Liv: Haha, well I just didn't want to interrupter when you guys already had your own thing going on-plus, Star's not the type to approach a group of people, she'd feel too out of place. Karri however... Haha, well she'd probably be more than willing to go up and start chatting away and possibly glomp Liv the instant she realized she was the birthday girl if it didn't seem too awkward ^_^"

"She does?" He asked innocently, though proving her point by being unable to suppress the smile stretching his lips thinking about her. "Well, we have been friends for a long time... you're very observant, though. Watch out, the old Panda might try to recruit you." He pulled a scary face, though she probably wouldn't understand what he meant.

(( @Star: I realize some people have shy characters, but at some point they're gonna have to interact, or else you'll never get to RP with anyone. ))
Luci was easily distracted at the mention of what she assumed was a bulbous, fuzzy bear, "The old Panda...?" her eyes lit up a bit at the thought of the animal.
Liv made a small start as Michi called her name, not expecting to see the young woman there. It had been such a long time, and she hadn't heard of her return, but it was a welcome surprise, "Michi~! Thank you! You look lovely, yourself~" she laughed as a present was thrust into her hands. She opened the box and peeked in, seeing what looked like terribly delicious cookies.
"Oh, thank you! The perfect gift, because I don't have to worry about finding a place to keep them," she set them on the table with Lavi and Kiah's gifts before turning back, "I'm so glad you could make it, really," she pulled the other woman in for a hug.

Star blinked at Sim for a moment before allowing a small smile to come to her lips.
"Buongiorno," She said, allowing her smile to widen slightly as the word rolled of her tongue, "Enjoying the party, I presume?"

He was relieved his comment had apparently distracted her from the subject of Sil, rather avoiding it altogether than having to lie to the little girl. Lavi chuckled at her reaction. "It's not as exciting as you think. Have you seen the old, short man I'm around a lot? Don't you think he looks like a panda?" His tone was slightly hopeful, as if wanting to find someone who'd agree with him.
"Yes, very much so." Sim smiled broadly, twirling his pasta around his fork. "It's like a big family gathering. I always like it when we do things like this, instead of, you know..." A frown pulled on his face for a second, but he shrugged it off and lifted the swirl of pasta into his mouth.

Luci hopped down from Lavi's feet and folded her arms over her chest, one hand moving to her chin in a thoughtful manner. Now that she thought about it, she did remember the man Lavi was talking about. He seemed very strict to her, and she wrinkled her nose, "I remember him...he does look like a Panda! But a gross, old, wrinkly one!"

"That's one way to look at it," Star laughed quietly, looking around and taking in the decorations once more, "I can see why, it's certainly a welcome change from the day to day around here... not that there really is a day to day around here."

Lavi threw his head back in a bark of a laugh at Luci's description of Bookman, then quickly glanced around him to check he wasn't actually standing right behind him or anything. Not that Bookman enjoyed large gatherings like this. "You're right. Don't let him hear you say that, though." His hand automatically raised to rub a spot on his head, still sore from the last time he'd used the nickname in the old man's presence.

Luci nodded, "Okay! It'll be our secret~" she smiled and jumped on him, throwing her arms around his middle in another hug, "Uncle Laviii..? Will you give me a piggyback riiide~? Please~?"
