Jaryx swam in a small circle around her, watching her closely once she managed to get all four paws off of the ground. She was a little unsteady but so far she was doing alright; especially for not knowing.

"There you go, though you have to keep breathing. Slowly in and out with your nose." he commented as he came back around to her side. "Once you're comfortable with floating, I'll show you something else."

Ru'yah attempted a nod as she floated on the water. She also started breathing through her nose again. Calm, she just needed to be calm. The lioness continued floating around for a few more mintues before she made up her mind. "Alright," she said, "let's try something new."

When Ru'yah gave her permission to continue with the lesson, Jaryx nodded once again.

"Alright, watch me," he told her and started to move his paws in the water, first the right paws then the left paws. "When you start moving your paws like that, it'll keep you above water and you can move around."

The lioness nodded her head. She moved her right front paw, then her left one; as to get comfortable with the movements. Then she took a gulp of air and started kicking her back feet. They were mostly underwater, but Jaryx was still likely to feel the splashes of water hitting his face.

Even so, Ru'yah truly felt she was doing well. Though she was clearly at least a little wrong with that judgment.

Despite the splashing she was doing, he thought Ru'yah was doing well for not knowing how to swim when they started. He watched her for a few moments before speaking again, "Alright, now that you have the movements down, see if you can follow me," he told her and slowly started to swim towards the other side of the watering hole.

"Alright." She said, and attempted to follow the cheetah. This however was the big downfall to Ru'yah's swimming knowledge. Indeed, it appeared she had a basic gasp of how to keep afloat; however her ability to swim in itself was in desperate need of improvement. She could only paddle herself a whole five feet before her hind legs kicked more and more above water and not under like they should be. This infulenced another almost-drowning spell, she splashed and kicked until she latched onto soild ground again.

As the cheetah kept up his slow swimming pace, he paid close attention to the sound of the splashing to make sure Ru'yah was still keeping up with him. When he got almost across the watering hole, he heard the frantic splashing coming from behind him. He turned himself around and watched as the lioness panicked and tried to find solid ground. He swam back over to where she had managed to get to where she could safely stand.

"It'll take practice, but you'll get there eventually," he told her, "Are you alright?"

Ru'yah spit out water and flattened her ears against her head. This was going to be harder than she orignally thought it would. "I'm fine." She muttered. Her ears perked up again, she had noticed she had forgotten to say something. "Oh, thanks for teaching me to swim." She said. "It's kind of silly to not know, isn't it?" The lioness laughed slightly. She shifted her feet under the water, she liked swimming, it made her feel like she was hovering around in the sky. And it cooled her down, she, having a black pelt, was one to desperately need that. "How long will it take to learn?" She asked. She wanted to learn as quickly as possible. What if there was an unexpected flood, and she still didn't know how to swim! That wouldn't be good, at least if she knew to swim, she could try and swim to higher ground during a flood.

Jaryx stepped out of the water, onto the solid ground himself and shook out his pelt. He didn't really have any intention of getting back in the water after getting a drink and getting cooled down. With his white pelt, if a breeze came along while he was still wet, he would have to find somewhere out of the wind to wait to dry off. He would prefer to dry off ahead of time and not have to worry about that possibility.

"Not a problem," he waved off her thanks, "It's not really silly, especially if you didn't grow up near water."

He shook around once more in an attempt to get whatever water didn't come off the the first time, off of his pelt.

"It depends on how much you practice," he stated, "Though I'd suggest not practicing on your own just in case."

"Alright." She might completely ignore that suggestion later. In the mean time she rolled over, completely out of the water as well. "Are you leaving?" She asked. If Jaryx had intentions of leaving, she'd follow him. She wouldn't dare admit to it at the moment, but having this cheetah as company was starting to make her feel more lonely when she wasn't near him. Even if he told her to go away, she might ignore that too. Because for once in Ru'yah's life, she was starting to feel the impact of not having any friends to talk to. To be more persise, she was starting to feel more lonely than she had before. Not many strangers bothered to talk to her, and in return she didn't talk to them. This all led up to the fact that Jaryx was the lioness's new B.F.F, if one could call it that. Well, at least she was happy, and in reality that was all that really mattered. "Wherever your going, I'm coming. Because..." She struggled for a reason. Then she shrugged and said the first thing that popped into her head. "I'm Bo~red."

Jaryx nodded in response to her question. He had contemplated leaving; he wanted to get to a new area before the sun set. Hopefully the new area he found would be suitable for settling down. Without anyone else out here traveling with him, the rogue lands weren't so enjoyable anymore. Maybe he should find a pride and settle down.

"I don't really have a direction in mind but if that's what you want," he could slightly understand her urge to stick with someone out here. Having a companion made traveling so much easier sometimes.

Ru'yah smiled. Good, he didn't mind! Ah, that mean't she could relax. Well, somewhat. If the duo were going to start travelling now that would mean more walking for the lioness. Oh well. She'd just shrug it off and follow Jaryx. Easy, and simple. She good never stress enough how much she liked the word simple. "I still need to learn to swim." She pointed out the obvious. "So lets find somewhere with water." She considered rolling around in the grass more, but instead stood up and shook the excess water off her coat. She could relax later though, because soon it would be night. And she really didn't think Jaryx would walk all night after this exiciting day... Would he?

Jaryx grinned slightly when she smiled at him. He wondered how long this lioness would follow him; how long would it be before she tired of him and his company? For now, however, he would enjoy her company and revel in the joy that came with not having to hunt alone.

"That's right," he agreed, "I'm sure we'll eventually find another pool or a river to teach you in."

As soon as Ru'yah got to her feet, he nodded at her to follow him and began walking towards the horizon, curious about what they would find next.
