Ling looked up at Nola and smiled. This cub had allways been able to do that. He nodded and lightly patted her on the head. "Thank you Nola...I respect you as you respect me...I just wish everyone else understood how much I put into this pride."

Shaitani wanted to break up all of this fuss, and at the same time wanted to cut into Xia's throat for hurting his queen. Muscles tight he watched everything going on around him, then made a motion ot follow Kun Yi. Stopping as he noticed Xao there, however, the dark lion turned to follow Ling, standing above his now-laying form.
His voice was cool, even though he was deeply troubled, "You dislike this as much as I. However, I have nothing against you or your pride. I respect you greatly, and always have. Moreso than I had respected my own father." He paused a moment, sitting himself down, "If there were anything I could do to avoid this fight, I would be more than happy to oblige. I cannot expect Kun Yi to do the same, and I never had. She is strong-willed and will stand up for her rights and beliefs. I only wish I could do the same..." He wished he could bring himself lower than the king to show his submission to his rule, however, he could not, so he leveled himself, "I have no wish to bring chaos here, and wish only that this could be settled peacefully, leaving Kun Yi out of it. I love her, but I cannot expect her to back down from her beliefs. Please..." He closed his eyes, "If there is anyhting that I can do to settle this peacefully, tell me... Even if it would cost me my pride."
He rose, gently shaking the irt from his stomach, "And please, let Xia cause no more trouble for Kun Yi. While I respect the fact that she is the queen of this pride, she should also respect the members of her pride, no matter what the circumstances. If any more trouble pursues, I cannot expect myself to stand by and let my queen be insulted." With that he turned from his king and left, letting out a sigh as his heavy figure slinked back into the moonlight.
((By pride I mean, like, his honor, by the way.))

Ling listened intently to the other male speak. He nodded and smiled as the male continued on. He respected Shaitani for this act, but he could think of nothing that would save him from having to fight.
It was only when the male turned his back on him without waiting for a response that the king's eyes flared. "Insult me..." He lashed out with one paw at Shaitani's hind legs. "Was it an answer you wanted form me Shaitani or did you only wish to speak?" He had risen to a sitting possition now, his dark eyes on the male. Shaitani has disrespected him. Not only had he not waited for an answer, he had turned his back to him.

(( Xia never hurt her, neither physically or emotionally. She was only stating a fact and Kun yi got mad at her for doing so. sweatdrop ))
Xia smiled at how cute Nola was being and the adult couldn't help it, she leaned forward to lick at the small cub's head lovingly. "It's allright, Ling, they shouldn't be afraid anyways because you're not the one being mad, that Kun yi's job."
Turning her head as Shiatani moved finally over to Ling and looked down at him, she protected the cubs by moving in front of them, not wanting them to get caught in the fight should one arise and she saw Ling retaliate.
"I never even said anything bad to her, I was mearly stating a fact that it was nice here, though I don't know why she'd take it as being mean.." Ling's queen stated to Shiatani, but she didn't think that the scary black and red lion would listen to her, Kun yi certainly didn't.

Shaitani tumbled to the ground with a loud thud. Confused, he waited a moment, trying to decide what would be best for him to do - get up or stay down? Respond or stay quiet?
A compromise with himself.
He stayed on the ground, stopping the swell of his instincts to retalliate, "I meant no disrespect. I just did not expect an answer right away, nor did I want to pressure you for one at any time."
He then turned his attention to Xia with only a shift of his eyes, "Despite what you think may or may not have gotten across, it was taken badly."

Ling sighed and looked over to his queen. She was protecting the cubs, good. He looked back to Shaitani. "Xia is my queen, Shaitani...Her thoughts are my own, and she is my voice when I am not here. She deserves the same respect that I do, and even you have to admit that your mate has shone me very little to done at all." He sighed and looked to Xia from the corner of his eye. She calmed him slightly, enough for him to be reasonable.
"Shaitani, your mate needs to be knocked from her pedestal. She needs to learn that the world does not revolve around her and her loved ones. If she is to have a pride of her own, she will have to love her pride as a family...I want to let you go, but my pride ((As in his pride not the pride))...wants to see Kun Yi knocked down."

Nuri positioned himself near the cave mouth and lay down. Though his watch would be the third and last of the night, he doubted he would get much, if any sleep. And even that would be very light, as he kept an ear cocked for the sounds of upheaval. Even now, as he looked out over the lands he could see from the cave's entrance, he could only hear the loudest sounds emanating from the back of the cave. Those sounds that echoed about him were mostly the sounds of stress before the battle to come. He sighed and glanced back at Ling and Xia. While he was glad that they had finally come together as King and Queen, with this latest development with Shaitani and Kun Yi, it came at a bad time.
He glanced around at the other dwellers of the cave and smiled at any whose eye he caught. To the newcomers, he nodded his head with a friendly grin. But his tail twitched nervously as the tension continued to permeate their living space. His ears rotated with every sound, flakes shivering slightly with every ear movement.

Watching him tumble to the ground with a thud, she was thankful that that wasn't Ling and instead Shaitani. He admirably stayed on the ground beneath him. She nodded to the black and red lion's words, understatement, she didn't do anything wrong last time she checked. The queen sighed and then flicked her eyes back over to her mate and smiled at him, hoping that would help calm him. Then she turned to check on the cubs and where they had gotten off to.
Pastel padded down the allready worn path to the cave as she heard yelling and crying coming from that part and wondered what it was. Seeing Nuri in a big heap near the cave entrance she couldn't help but smile at him because it was so cute. Pausing in front of the cave where the purple and green male was laying, the pastel colored lioness snuck up on him using the side he wasn't paying attention to and gathered him in a lion version of a hug, purring softly. "Guess who?" She giggled as she said it, hoping the male didn't guess.

Already nervous, Nuri tried to jump out of his skin when Pastel got a hold of him. "'Wha...who?" he exclaimed, trying not to yelp or roar. But that lovely voice and the purring in his ear meant it could only be one lioness. Rolling onto his back he swatted up at her playfully with a velvet paw, claws safely sheathed, then got back to his feet, chuckling and nuzzling her warmly. "Hello, Pastel."

Adelle has seen the other lioness approach but her tension eased a little when Nuri recognized her. She resettled herself and looked back into the depths of the cave to watch the dark shadows in case someone was trying to sneak around in them.
Nola had wandered off and now sat next to her mother at the front of the cave. "Mama? Can I sleep next to you tonight?"
Adelle smiled warmly at her daughter and nodded. She could move silently enough to not wake her if something were to happen. "Rest now my dear. Morning will come too quickly as it is." She curled her tail around Nola as she laid down.

Akira sighed as he watched shaitani and ling "why must it always come to fighting..?" he said quietly and looked away,he remembered how when he and shaitani had both come to into the pride as kittens, and now shiatani was all grown up and fighting for he and his mates freedom. he looked down at his paws. he never wanted to have to leave the pride, Ling had given him a home and he would do anything to stay.Akira skirted around the adults to were Nola and her mother were sitting "um..could i maybe sit with you guys..?" akira asked quietly "the adults are kind of right over my spot..."

Shaitani had no idea what to say to this, knowing that no matter what his respose, it would be the wrong one. He rose to his full height, as though speaking with a brother now. "I understand," he said, showing no opinion one way or the other. He had toact like the King he would soon be and deal with this rationally and politically, his emotions left out of it completely.
"I just want you to know that I have no plans of cutting this pride out of my life completely. You gave me a home..." He glanced to the other lions that he had grown up with, "And they are my brothers and sisters."

Adelle smiled at Akira and nodded while Nola lifted her head. "Sure thing Akira. Come sleep next to me." She scooted over so he could have room and waited for him to settle in. "Thanks for playing with me so much. I think I would get lonely without you." She leaned over and gave his cheek a small lick before getting comfortable again near him.
