Yakov sat down and gave Jeff a good snuggle. "So, how would you like to finish off your first Christmas with me?"

Jeff thought of something and managed a grin. "I would like...a story." He couldn't help but feel calmer in Yakovs hands. "Tell me...about...your family..."

Jeff's grin dimed, "If you...don't want to...you don't have to...but I enjoy...hearing...about your...family..."

Yakov had recovered back quickly and was already snuggling against Jeff again. "No, its okay. I just wasn't expecting that."

Yakov smiled. "Well, it was a lot like today really. Minus having to deal with a stubborn, injured, hot man beast. The major difference was that there were more of us."

Yakov sighed a little. "Yeah, my parents, but a lot more generations too. Grandparents, great-grandparents... Since my parents, we all decided it would be safer if we stayed in smaller groups. A few of the older ones died as well...old age though...not like my parents. Oh...and there used to be singing."

It was always sad to hear Jeff talk about his parents but Jeff couldn't beleive his eyes, "Singing?...You used to...sing?"

Yakov smiled. "Yeah, we would sing all the time. Christmas carols were a big hit around here. I imagine that if/when any knew children enter the family, the tradition will come back."

Yakov shrugged. "It was probably because of the year that Erika ended up in a Christmas pagent. We didn't have time for singing because of all the chaos from that thing. I think people started taking that as a cue to do a few of there own things on Christmas and it just sort of drifted out."
