Al stood up quickly. "I'm so sorry I should have kept a better watch on her." She looked like she was about to cry. And she grabbed a shall by the door and raced outside. Al knew this city like the back of her hand she knew exactly were a person could become lost or where they might get into trouble. She ran and ran ally after ally she came out empty handed. "Dusk?" she called her voice worried and sad.

It was entirely her fault and now the girl could be anywhere. She felt like crying but knew it would do no good. After her had checked every were that held an immediate danger she started into the residential district. These alleys were mostly just backdoors and garbage, nothing like the deep city's prostitution alleys and white slave companies. She ran down every one calling out for the lost child. She knew that it was only a matter of time before something terrible happened.

"No," I said, fighting tears, "don't be sorry, I will get her it's not your fault just..." I cut myself off by making a quick sprint to the street before anyone could protest. "Dusk!" Hail began to fall pelting my bear feet and arms. I had not noticed until then that I was still wearing nothing but a tank top and jeans. It was so cold. I was dodging foul creatures from the other side left and right. Amazing how we can even call them people. "Dusk, please," she had to be alright, there was no way she could be out of my life. She was Dusk the Amazing! The girl I'd grown up with! We grew together, delt together, even recieved our first bites together! (An experience I do not wish to elaborate on.) I ran through alley after ally, deciding that if she was completely lost, the only way to find her was to get good and lost myself.

((sorry if I babbled, it was a symbol of my characters feelings))

(sorry i haven't posted much at all)

I couldn't tell what the time was, being that it had started to rain and hail, blocking any sunlight which may have came through. I continues to walk down alley after alley after alley after alley (making fun of you both) before I came across lean, tall, rather handsome man, who proudly held a rather sharp dagger in his right hand. At that moment I wanted nothing else but to scream at the top of my lungs. However, I knew it would be pointless for my mouth would only be covered

After watching the two ladies practically stampede out of the house, I thought it would be a good idea to do so myself. Instead of walking down alley after alley after ALLEY AFTER ALLEY ( =] ) I decided to take the main streets first before I risked my life. Already wounded from the previous battle my legs and arms ached in pain, but for now I had to ignore it.

At once Al spotted her target, the girl was being taken by a tall man twice her size. Al let out an enormous growl and sprang at him. She ripped the knife from his hands and threw it as far as she could. It most likely landed a few blocks away. She punched and kicked and clawed at him. Until he let go of the girl. Then she snatched her up and took off back onto a main road. The man did not follow he was to badly injured.

Al held the girl firmly but gently and was back at the house in seconds. In a glance she took in the empty house. "Where is she?!" Al yelled and set the girl down just inside the doorway. "You stay inside. Got it? You’ll just make more trouble going back out to find her. "Al Closed the door leaving Dusk trapped inside the house with no way to get out.
She took off again and quickly came upon Nathaniel. "You let the other one out too." She scolded and slapped his shoulder before scampering into the next alleyway.
Hearing the desperate calls dawn was giving out, Al found her quickly and grabbed her waist carrying her like a sack of potatoes until they reached Nathaniel. "Come on hun." She said and took his hand with her own free hand. And walked him home. When they got home Al Set Dawn down next to her sister and covered her face with her hands.

"What were you thinking?!" She asked shaking her head, and looking up at Nathaniel. "Be more careful with them, they are still children. " She took the girls by the hand and made them sit together on the floor next to the fire place. She took off her shall and draped it around their shoulders. "Never leave the house without one of our permission again, Or you will regret it." She said sternly. Her hair was a mess and her clothing was torn and muddied. She looked worse than she felt.

"That's just it, during the jumble of things I wasn't really thinking, but now I know for next time." I smiled at Al.

I glanced over at Nathaniel and Al, still confused of the blur that just occured. I began to feel faint, as I soon fell to my side; the room went dark

My head turned quickly once I heard the thump, of what I now knew was Dusk hitting the floor. I rushed over to her side, and placed the back on my hand on her forehead. "She's sick." I spoke simply before I swept her into my arms, and ascended quickly up the staircase. I glanced in through the cracks of the doors to see which rooms were taken and which were not. I opened the first one that was vacant on the fourth floor. Gently, I placed her down onto the bed, moving a strand of hair out from her face. I looked back to see that no one had followed and got up and locked the door. I sat back down beside her, awaiting her awakening.

I watched as the stranger carried my sister up the dusty staircase, wishing I could follow. But I couldn't, I couldn't keep Dusk from being with him, that would only make Nathaniel trust me less. The storm outside grew, as well as the bloodshed and tears that swept the road. I slowly got up, Al was in the kitchen making us all some sort of snack or something. Before she could see, I wrapped my arms around the trench-coat on the floor and hopped the window. The streets were cold and unforgiving, but I kept moving. That's when I saw the man. He was sitting on a cracked sidewalk, pressing a rag into his soggy bleeding arm, wincing with pain. I walked toward him. "Excuse me," I pulled a tissue out of my bra, turning slightly so he wouldn't see. (I am slightly insecure.) "Can I help you?"

(the character that eyesofanangel667 is talking to is going to be a main character that she will be playing, the text color will be dark blue His profile will be up by the end of the day.)

I watched Dusk, knowing that the state she would in would only get worse if she didn't feed soon. Her slight fever would only escalate to a comatos state. I looked through my pockets for a small dagger but couldn't find one, i must have left it at the other house. I spotted an empty glass on the night stand, I reached over and threw it at the wall. Pieces shattered about the floor. I gazed over the shards, looking for the sharpest piece. I picked up a medium sized piece and ran the sharp edge against the palm of my hand. Blood began to slowly seep from the deep gash. I gently opened Dusks mouth, just enough to get the sweet liquid through. I turned my hand into a fist, letting more blood run through as it dripped into her mouth.

I felt something warm run along my tongue, as I swallowed it. My senses began to come back slowly. I opened my eyes only to find Nathaniel's bloody hand over my face. I picked myself so my back was leaning against the backboard. I reached over, took his hand in mine; my lips moved to the wound, licking the blood off.

I sat and watched as the girl worked the tissue into a knot around my arm. She shook wisps of thin brown hair from her face, revealing blood shot blue eyes. "It's not much, just a scrape," I moaned a little when she pulled it tighter, feeling the gash in my arm close slightly. "Don't worry about me,"

"What happened? What were you doing?" He was breathing so heavy, as if he had just been knocked in the chest. Blood continued to seep from the cut. "Here hand me your shirt,"

I looked at her in wonder, but did as she told. "What are you doing on the East side? Who sent you?" I handed her the torn shirt, which she wrapped around my arm. "What's your name..." Before I could say any more, I found myself fainted on the ground.

I licked the blood off my finger tips and lay next to him, knowing there was no way I would be able to pick him up without hurting him or myself.

I smiled at Dusk as she drank greedily. "Feeling better at all?"

I nodded, moving his hand away. "Thank you."

I brushed the hair from the man's face, wishing he would awaken. I couldn't stay here forever, and the cut was only getting worse. I licked it a little, praying he wouldn't bleed himself to death. Everything was so dark now, I could hardly see. Finally, unable to help myself, I sucked the cut a little more.

I kept my eyes closed, hoping she would not realize I was faking to see how long she would stay. She sucked hard on my wound, which oddly felt wonderful, in a weird sense of the word. She released her mouth for a moment, as if to listen to my thoughts. "You can keep going, you know,"

I looked up, seeing he had awoken. "That's alright," I wiped my mouth. I helped him up and we went for a walk, while he proceeded to stare at me for whatever reason.

I looked around the room that looked almost identical to the room we were placed in only a day before. I glanced back at Nathaniel to see him only inches from my face. I didn't know what to do. My father had died, our home burnt to the ground, and having someone i just got reaquainted (sp) with about to kiss me. I did the only thing I could, I turned my face away.

My lips planted a surprised kiss on her cheek rather then where I had intended them to go. Had i misread her? I couldn't have, I mean she couldn't keep her eyes off of me earlier. Then again, maybe it was too soon. I stood up, "I'm sorry, Dusk." I walked over to the door, placed the key inside and began to turn it.

"It's okay,' I didn't intend for him to feel embarrassed. I stood myself, keeping a hand on the wall for support. "You don't have to leave..."

We walked slowly, neither of us with much to say. "Come with me," I finally said, "I can take you back to the safe house," I looked at his shirtless chest, noticing how muscular he was.

"Safe house?" I thought about it. I knew there were clubhouses and a few tunnels made in the Eastern side by the Westerns, but I had no idea there was a safe house, or anything of that sort. It must be new. "I suppose," I noticed she was shivering and gave back the trench-coat she had put me in when I had "fainted". "Sure," I looked down into her eyes, which met mine slowly.

"Yes, it wouldn't be safe to go around with an injury like that until the raid is over," He looked at me as if every word I said came out of the bible, or something. I lead him back to the safe house, noticing that Al's light was off, she was probably asleep.

I paused for a moment, contemplating what exactly to do. Should I leave her be, or take full advantage of her in this vulnerable state. I heard her soft foot steps approach me, and run her hands up my back as she leaned against me. I wanted to take her into my arm and never let go, but my conscience got the best of me. "I should go." I opened the door and descended back down the stairs and into the parlor. A soft sigh escaped my mouth.

We tiptoed into the house slowly, and I noticed that the door was unlocked, some safe house. As we entered Nathaniel was on the staircase. "This is..." I paused, realizing I had never acquired his name.

"Asher," I glared at the man, slightly, seeing that he so much as looked at Dawn angered me. I knew his type. He wore a suit with the buttons undone and looked like he desperately needed a female with him at all times. "I don't need to stay, really,"

I grabbed him by his good arm. "Yes you do. Nathaniel is there an extra room for Asher?" I had a feeling there wasn't, and knew what that meant. Asher released his arm from my grip and placed it on my back.

"If you insist,"

Al flipped on her light, she was wearing a short white light cotton night gown, It was very shear but she had heard a new voice and she always greeted every new arrival. She jumped out of bed, her hair was loose around her head, like a black silken river. Her room was directly connected to the front hall and she threw open the door. "Welcome!" She said happily before she had even looked over who had come in.

She opened her eyes and took in the guest. He was tall and shirtless and his arm was wounded badly. "Oh." She stepped over to him and with out even looking back up his eyes she took his arm gently. "Nathaniel I will talk to you later about how to act with children." She said hoping he would understand what she implied. She has very good hearing. "Asher, please have a seat." She said warmly and guided him into a chair. She rushed into the kitchen and grabbed a washing cloth and a bucket of warm water, and a roll of bandage. She ran back upstairs and started to work on him arm.

She uncovered it and washed it carefully then bound it tightly before looking back up at him. "I hope you enjoy your stay with us." She gave him a smile and patted his upper arm. "Dawn." She turned to the girl her eyes cold and pissed off. "Do you remember what I told you?" She asked and stood up, carrying the bucket with her as she stepped towards the girl. "Break one more rule and you will regret it." She set the bucket near the door and walked to Nathaniel’s side; She took his arm softly and leaned her head on his shoulder. "Ever try anything with Dusk again and you will die a slow painful death. She is a child.” She whispered just loud enough for him to hear. She squeezed his arm and looked at Asher. "Are you hungry?" She asked warmly her mood completely different.
