Name of Scrolls used: Spear of Waves and Sonic Scream Combination Effect: A dream will open its mouth as if to scream, but instead of any noise coming out, its eyes start to glow a pure blue and the air around gets thick with a haze. Wind picking up and dying like the waves, time seems to slow for a moment until suddenly the dream lets out a scream, ear peircing and ripping through the fog like underwater waves as rings of sound head towards one or a group of targets. Combination Spell Name: Shreaking Brawl New Spell Effects: This attach has two different ammounts. If the dream is attacking one target, there is an auto hit with 2d18. However, if it is attacking more than one target, there is a 25/75 chance that each target might be able to ignore or shake it off. The damage is 2d16 for this if the strike is successful.
Also, a status effect is that the target loses -10 to attack from disorentation and -5 to defence.

Name of Scrolls used: Evening Mist and Escape Combination Effect: The Dream bows in a crouching position, then leaps into the air, vanishing in a puff of smoke. The smoke created from the vanishing spell glides over to the Nightmare, covering its eyes and hindering its vision. (Inspiration from a ninja - vanish! moment. XD) Combination Spell name: Vanishing Mist New Spell Effect: The Dream is automatically brought out of the battle and back to its owner, while the Nightmare suffers a -2 to its attacks, and has a 20% chance of missing its target(s).

Name of Scrolls used: Escape and Sparkler's Glory
Combination Effect: When used, the air around the Dream begins to shimmer with heat, and the Dream itself begins to glow violently. The energy builds, the ground begins to shake, and just before everything breaks loose, the Dream escapes to a safe distace as the air explodes in a brilliant, mushrooming inferno, severely damaging all enemies within range.
Combination Spell Name: Fission Reaction
New Spell Effect:
Main Effect: This spell may be cast once per battle, and is an automatic hit. All enemies, because they are in the caster's focus, suffer 7d10 resulting damage. In addition, any allies (barring the Dream who cast the spell) in the battle have a 65% chance of getting out of range of the explosion. If they fail and are caught in the resulting blaze, they suffer 3d6 damage.
Secondary Effect: Any enemy that survives the spell, or any ally that was caught in the explosion and survived, has a 20% chance of becoming poisoned ( -2 to defense, 1d4 per round from health)
((Inspiration? Uh, chemistry class? XD))

Name of Scrolls used: Evening Mist and Healing Light Combination Effect: Mist surrounds both opponents in battle. It appears as a thick dark cloud that comes from all points of air around the two. The mist gives health to one side of said cloud... (more in new spell effect) Combination Spell Name: Healing Mist New Spell Effec: When casting this spell, a d6 is rolled for the Dream casting the spell, and the Nightmare defending against it. Whomever rolls higher is successful. If the spell is successful for the Dream then for the next three rounds the Nightmare is partically blind and takes a -1 on all attacks and the Dream heals 1d6 points of Health Damage. If by chance, the Nightmare rolls higher and succeeds, the effects are opposite - the Dream becomes partially blind and takes a -1 on all attacks and the Nightmare heals 1d6 points of Health Damage. This spell lasts for 3 rounds. Healing rolls only last for one round.
((*Yes, I understand the effect starts out the same, but there is a twist in it in the end...*))

(Okies, then, Ari's going to have some fun with this. >.>)
Inspiration -- The "Raging Mist" (I think it was called that, anyway O_o) tech from Tales of Symphonia, which made me think, "Hey, maybe you can mix fire and water after all. XD;;; Also inspiration from the Pokemon games for the burn effect, because I don't think most things use it... (I think most prefer to just use poison as the "slowly ebbing away HP" effect.)
-----------
Name of Scrolls used: Breath of Flame, Spear of Waves Combination Effect: Jets of water shoot out from above the Dream's head to combine with a swirl of fire from the Dream's mouth. They explode upon contact with the target, creating a mist and a wave of heat, both spreading in a ripple-like way originating with the target. Combination Spell Name: Searing Heat New Spell Effec: ~100% hit ~2d6 damage to the targeted opponent ~1d6 damage to any other opponent in the vincinity ~1d4 damage to caster and allies ~100% chance of blindness for targeted opponent ~25% chance of blindness for other opponents ~Blindness: all attacks have only 25% of their original hit chance (unless blindness is already defined), lasts for 5 turns ~75% chance of targeted opponent suffering burns ~15% chance of other opponents suffering burns ~5% chance of caster and allies suffering burns ~Burns: opponents take 1d6 damage per turn, allies take 1d4 damage per turn, lasts for 5 turns
----------
(Meow, I think that's all. o.o)

After many days of reading, re-reading, and chewing on the keyboard..I've made my long overdue slection! The winner of this contest is:
Fission Reaction by Darkened Horizons
I would like to thank all my entrants. I ~loved~ the combinations you all came up with..so I've decided to enter them into the Magical Compendium with credit given to each of you as the creator of the spell. I have altered some of them a little bit though, but you all still retain credit for the original concept ^_^
Congradulations Darkened Horizons my dear, the mystery box is yours! IN addition, you may select one of your dreams to recieve the pair of scrolls needed to cast your own spell ^_^
So..what's in the mystery box? Well...I'm lazy. I never decided sweatdrop What I -did- decide is that it will be the luck of your rolls that decide just what you have won ^_^
So, what I need you to do is use the Gaia option of rolling to determin the following:
First Roll 1d100 arrow Even number result, item awarded from the Magical Compendium arrow Odd Number result, item awarded from the Accessory Compendium
Second Roll If you rolled a Even number, and hence get a item from the Magical compendium, roll for the following: 1d100 arrow 90-100 Any Item of your choice (Excluding Unique) arrow 51-89 Any Uncommon Item of your choice arrow 1-50 Any Common item of your choice If you rolled a Odd number, and hence get a item from the Accessory Compendium, roll for the following: 1d100 arrow 90-100 Any Item of your choice Including any Special Deejarne Item (Excluding Unique) arrow 51-89 Any Uncommon Item of your choice arrow 1-50 Any Common item of your choice

Dunno if I'm supposed to PM this or post it... Gonna post it so I don't fill up LC's inbox thing. biggrin Lord Changeling As Araku would follow Valerian and introduce himself. Something unexpected would happen. The mountain upon which he, and the dreams Araku had just met stood would begin to tremble violently. From high above the mountain rocks began to tumble down like giant marbles tossed over a ridge. The ground beneath Araku would suddenly split wide open and send the unsuspecting Dream tumbleing wildely down a incline. At the end, Araku came to a stop, unharmed but in desperate need for a bath. ~Congradulations, Araku has stumbled upon the Eath Temple. The incline he took a tumble down was in fact a staircase that had been covered by many years of rockslides. The current mountain quake has cleared the tunnel of derbies, and sent Araku rolling down into it's inner sanctum. Though the Earth Temple is dusty, Dark, and in desperate need of cleaning, it is still intact. The Temple is a wide cavern with many intricate pillars covered in runes spread through out it. There is a small inner building with a stone door firmly closed, and the image of a mountain inscribed upon it's face.~That's on Page 12 and it's the only thing I can find about the Earth temple.

...I was bored... Lord Changeling A river of lava. The slow sluggish flow of liquid fire that cut through the land, melting rock into a soft sludgy mud. As Evvy so boldly approched one of the hundreds of flowing rivers, something would seem to shimmer out of place amid the heat waveletts over the volcanic river. This river was far larger then most of the other rivers of lava that cut across the land, and as Evvy came to the embankment, before her the faint shimmering outline of a black cobbled bridge would take shape to her eyes alone. Arching over the lava river, a black stone island with some sort of building upon it rested in the middle of this lava river. Lord Changeling Evvy alone would see the bridge. The black cobblestone path appearing to grow no clearer as she continued to stare at it. From the middle of the river, the building upon it seemed to almost...awaken. Thin glowing red lines streaked over the blackened pillars and surface. Like drops of dye in clear water, they whisped their way over the surface, then dissolved. Like faint whispers to her they exsisted so briefly, and faded so quickly. As Evvy lifted her paw to touch it down upon the stone bridge, her companions would only see the flow of lava she was about to plungeher paw into. But to Evvy..beneath the pad of her paw, briefly she'd feel the rough and oddly cool scrape of the blackened stone bridge. Both of these are on page 49. Lord Changeling Both sets of eyes that peered upon Evvy would cease to do so shortly after Evvy began her tenative crossing of the bridge. For once she had completly stepped out upon it..she would vanish to their eyes. The faint sound of her flapping wings would be all the clue they would have that she was indeed still there. The faint impressions of her footprints in the soft mud alongside the molten river seemed to be following the way of their maker as well, for they began to vanish rapidly. Lord Changeling Although Phyre and Mel could not see Evvy, she most certainly could see them. The stones beneath Evvy's feet still remained strangely cool, and the dark building ahead almost seemed to becon to her with it's slowly growing in strength crimson strands. The mud where Evvy had stood before vanishing had all but swallowed up her paw prints, leaving not so much as a single indentation of where she had stood a few moments before. As Evvy continued across the bridge, the heat from the lava river would not grow any stronger then it had been at the edge. The closer Evvy drew to the building, the clearer everything around her would become. The shimmering waveletts of heat no longer clouded her vision, and very clearly she would be able to see, upon the black cobblestone path, runes engraved into each and every stone that made up the bridge. lava flowed slowly and sluggishly beneath her, and before her...the greecian style building clearly announced itself as a temple, with a darkened archway that led into it's heart...and a soft hissing sound full of malvolence emenating from within.... Those are on page 50
