As Shane walked the mech forward his thoughts were on his fallen. I know why I am here. To kill as many Russians as possible. They will never stop killing my people until the last of them is dead. He could hardly wait to get to the destination point. The Americans confirmed the location of an underground Russian base, rumored to house at least 700 soldiers. He left with only 32 men.

Only 32 men. They wouldn't know what hit them. Shane's platoon was some of the finest in the business. They once crept into a base at night and killed over 500 men with only the edge of a knife. No survivors. They were trained as both silent assassins, and weapons specialists. Shane's abilities made seemingly impossible tasks possible. He knew where the conscious soldiers were and the sleeping ones alike.

Still, they moved on toward the base. Shane thought again about the mysterious girl back at the docks. No uniform ment rebel. He knew she had something up her sleeve, helping a downed pilot. She was much too cunning to just want to help out for no reason. Thinking again of his dead men....He whispered to himself, "Just wait, we're coming and we're bringing surprises."

~Serin McCloud~

Serin watched as the Mecha turned and attacked a building, it was obvious that the building was where the shots came from. The Russian did a good job, managed to take out a few of the Americans soldiers. But she quickly realized this was her chance, her chance at a escape. Or well, a disappearing act.

So as soon as the Mecha was turned away from her, she slowly crept her way to the dock, moving diligently through the water so she wouldn't make to much noise. She wasn't getting caught, she didn't three years ago, and she wasn't today, tomorrow, or the next. She'd kill every last soldier before that happened.

As she quickly maneuvered her tiny frame under the dock, she could hear the soldiers move out.. Maybe she was wrong, maybe they wasn't going to make a attempt for her in their army. Good thing to, cause she'd just be a double spy. Causing both armies to finally die in the ultimate devistating battle, that would in hopes end the war.. The thought was so alluring she thought about recruiting herself, just to see it play. But that was dangerous work, and she would most likely of gotten caught.

Once the loud Mecha was out of ear range, she showed herself once more, now standing soaking wet, cold, and pissed off. She was still in Ireland, when she was making her attempt toward Germany. A friend had told her that the soldiers left Germany 3 months ago, that would be a good place to start, to start a rebel base. It was time we started to fight back!

User Image The Sergeant was right, he really did miss his plane at that time. He wasn't a great shot, and he was a terrible foot soldier. They told him the basics of ground fighting for a pilot. How to pull the trigger, reload, and run like hell when things hit the fan. He was an officer, capture was not an option. Fortunatly, he wouldn't have to worry about any of that. A few empty heli's showed up to pick up wounded and what not. "Thanks for the rescue Sarge! Maybe I'll be able to return the favor when I get my new plane!" After that, he jumped into the nearest helicopter, and awaited until everyone that was leaving, was loaded up.

After that, the helicopter flew up, and left the insecure area of Ireland, and began flying to wherever they were ordered to be taken. If memory served him correctly, this would be returning to British Isles, the place were he launched from earlier. Oh boy, he couldn't wait to tell his superior where his wingman and plane were.

Alaina saw the rescue boats come return from the docks, standing there even as the rain pattered on her uniform. "Men, they're returning. Medic units must be ready to receive the dead and wounded." She commanded, her face stern as she walked down the dock. It was her responsibility to make sure that these soldiers were well taken care of now, but she couldn't look at them. She had seen enough of the gruesome brutalities of war, and yet she knew that one side had to win. After all of the wounded and dead had been brought on land she went to the commanding soldier of one of the boats. "Where's Sergeant Crowley?" She asked. When she learned that he had stayed behind and continue the conflict she sighed. "Well, he can do what he wants." She muttered to herself. Seeing helicopters some ways away she bit her bottom lip. Maybe she can get more information on the situation at hand from them.

Within moments of the other mecha being killed the man was back on the ground as he patted the leg of his mecha. “Well, I guess that was good for a warm up.” Again he pulled out the same device from earlier and pressed the black button his mecha moving back towards the hole it made prior and disappearing inside it. Looking around the man sighed and headed away from where he was. He didn’t quite know why but, he wanted to just get out of there.

Muttering to himself, he kept walking no real purpose in mind. He just wanted to clear his thoughts, he needed to. Reaching around his neck he pulled out a gold locket. His fingers fumbled with the clasp on it unable to open it like he normally could, after several moments he finally managed to open the clasp slowly. Inside was a picture of his dead wife and daughter, his finger softly ran over their pictures. It had been awhile since he’d seen them killed, all so he would join up in this God damn war. They were truly pathetic.

He kept walking his footfalls drowned out by the sound of the rain hitting the ground. Once he stopped he looked up and noticed he was at the docks. “Why here?” He asked softly as he looked around and sat down on the edge of one of the piers. “What made me come here of all places?” He again asked himself, his gaze once again looking down at the locket. “I’m sorry I couldn’t protect you. I’m sorry I couldn’t save you.” He closed his eyes, tears flowing from his eyes.

The helicopter Aaron was flying touched down gently, and he hopped out. His helmet still gripped and limp at his side, in the front reading his callsign: Slair (pronounced slayer). Really, if you put it out, it read Silver Hair, but Slair just rung out for him. If you didn't know why he had it, you'd probably love the name.

He looked around for a superior officer, but instead, he saw naval units. This was an airbase, though. What purpose did they serve on his turf? Curious, he walked over to the person who seemed in charge, and realized she was lower rank than he was. "What's the navy doing on our front porch? Last I checked, boats don't fly."

Shane marched the foot soldiers on through the next night and all the next day. They arrived at their destination two hours before sundown. Shane shut down the mech just short of earshot of the base and stepped out. "Ok men! Stay out of site and get some rest! We go in late when they will be resting up for the night!"

As the men layed down to rest, Shane pulled a small leather bag from inside the mech and opened it. He sat down crossing his legs and pulled an item from the bag. One of his men that was resting against a tree nearby watched. He shook his head as if doing a double take at the item in Shane's hands. "Holy s**t Shane! What the hell? Is that a human hand?!!"

Shane laughed a little. "Yes, my friend, it is a human hand. But not just any human hand. This is called a hand of glory, cut from the arm of a hanged thief." "My god Shane, what the hell?" Shane replied back. "The hand of glory holds a very special and dark magick. You see when the hand is lit, each finger like a candle, It renders the inhabitants of a place as if dead or paralyzed." "And let me guess, you intend to use that thing don't you?" Shane smiled. "Just wait and see. Just wait." The men all drifted off to sleep, waiting for the word from Sergeant Major Shane Crowley.

~Serin McCloud~

As she came up to dry land, finally. She saw the faint outline of soldiers marched away. Then the idea popped into her head, what if they where heading toward more Rebels? Surely if she followed them she could meet more like her, those who don't choose sides, ones who want the world to go back to the way it was, well better then it was.

A determined look crossed her pallid features as she began to slowly follow behind them, staying a close distance so she wasn't detected. It wasn't hard, seeing that she could easily see the four story mecha a few miles back. She sighed in relief as they finally stopped to rest. It has been a whole day and night, she was so exhausted from the outrageous hike, she half pondered why she was following them again.

As the soldiers rest, she could over hear the faint chit-chat from the Sargent major to one of his soldiers. Her eyes widen at what she was hearing. So this man planned to light the hand, and use it to immobilize the Russian group, a group of 700 men, no doubt. She couldn't believe it, what kind of sick sadistic b*****d did the Americans allow into their armies? Surely they have no idea on the creep they have allowed, and that he is fighting rather dirty in her opinion.

She decided it was best she settled down for the night, so quietly she climbed up into a tree, resting herself on a set of two thick branches that crisscrossed, so no matter how she twisted in her sleep, she would be safely tucked into the tree, not that she would sleep heavily enough to toss in turn. So with that done, she closed her eyes and shifted into a very uncomfortable sleep

Into the night Shane walked from man to man waking them all up silently, Then leading them close to the base. They all watched him as he pulled a wick lighter from his pocket, lighting every finger of the dead man's hand. They all stayed silent. even the men standing guard were laying on the ground as if they had been knocked out.

All the men followed Shane as they walked right through the door and down stairs making their way to the sleeping quarters. The men were swift each taking a n enemy soldier one by one and covering their mouths as they stabbed them in the neck and cut their throats. They slaughtered them like cattle one by one. One of Shane's men, not understanding why Shane was carrying the hand said. "Shane we have enough light man please put that thing out before it starts waking them up."

Shane laughed as he pulled out his 9mm high power and put two bullets though one of the sleeping soldiers heads. All of Shane's men jumped at the sound, but were merely astonished at the fact that all the enemy soldiers still lay sound asleep. Shane spoke up. "Don't waist your amo, Just keep cutting away!" Dumbfounded the men kept stabbing and slicing until every soldier on the base was dead.

Shane and his men slipped back out and back to where the mech was parked and laid down and went back to sleep. That night whispers could be heard between Shane's men, "What manner of a man were they under that could do such things as render men so vulnerable?" Shane climbed back into the mech. closed the Jaws and went fast asleep.

"Sorry, but today we're sharing this ground." Alaina replied, hearing the pilot's comment. "Since we heard the call for backup and our naval base is currently under construction, we're here to care for the wounded and take in the dead." Her own words surprised her. She hated being the person not in the line of duty and shagging the leftovers, but this was the Sargeant's operation now, and she had no right to step in unless there was an absolute need to. "Anything you could tell me about what is going on that would be useful?" She asked, hoping that the pilot had some information and finding no need to introduce herself. After all, what were the stars on her uniform for? It would only defeat their purpose if she wasted her breath on introductions in a time like this.

She woke up while the child was asleep. “looks like I dozed off.” She looked over at the child and smiled, “You’re a good child, I hope this war doesn’t ruin you.” Walking over to the boy she kissed his forehead. “Goodbye, we might meet again one day.” She put the blanket over where he had pushed it off and left towards the dock.

A few streets away she was ambushed from behind my a couple of Russian soldiers, one knocked her imminently to the ground and restrained her and the other stuck a needle into her. Her personalties switched but the hold was to tight, only managing a kick to the groin before the other solider helped restrain her.
“You’re the b**** we saw take out those American soldiers bare handed aren’t you? Our Captain wants to have a word …” The drugs took there effect making Clare pass out.

Clare woke up, she was in a bared cell of what she could see as an underground area. She stood up slowly the memories of recent events slowly trickling back into her mind and mixing with her murderous thoughts. The ferret can catch the sleeping bird but can it survive the hawk? Let us see how the scum of the earth shall fall and let them feel the very pain that runs though my veins. The hot blooded prey cannot resist a bait it has not had in such a long time. She limped to the barred cell wall with the first few buttons of her blouse undone. “U-um excuse me mister guard sir I think I hurt my ankle.”

“You think we would fall for that trick!?” One of the two guards replied. You will. Clare dropped to her knees and held her ankle her face blushing red with the apparent sweat of the pain.
One of the guards turned to the other.
“Maybe she isn’t faking it?”
“And what if she is?”
“Well then I’ll go in and you keep watch.”
“… fine.” The Guard went and opened the cell door. Idiot. Clare stood up as soon as the door was open, picking up the fork given with the tray meal and flinging it at the other guard's head, the fork priced though the forehead and rendered him unable to move and die a slow death. The guard entering the prison cell did not stand a chance, by the time he realised she had been faking and was reaching for his gun she had her hands on either side of his head. “To slow.” She snapped his neck.

Searching the guards bodies Clare retrieved a pair of knifes and tucked them into the back of her pants. “This is why this war should have been resolved the peaceful way” she said stroking the cheek of the dieing first soldier and bringing her mouth closer to his ear to whisper she continued, “You get crazy people like me who end up killing for no real reason but to make others feel pain. You idiots really should have just killed me on the spot, now I get to see how many of your friends and allies I can take out before they end my twisted life.” With a maddening smirk she left the now dead body and blew a kiss to the security camera before disappearing into an air vent in the wall as the alarm sounded.

When Shane woke up his attention was called to something he had missed before. He must have been too focused on the task at hand. But he could see her now, the girl from the docks. His mind was clear. Shane smiled, Then whispered to himself, "Little girl, what business do you have with me?"

Shane started up the mech, the engines waking up the rest of his men. They knew the drill. They all got up and started taking their positions around the mech. As soon as they were all ready. They started on their way back. Shane stayed focused on their trip, but his mind never left the girl.

Serin awoke to the sound of roaring mecha. God she hated the noise they made, it was so unnecessary. But none the less she easily removed herself from the tree, dropping to the ground with a quiet sounding thud. She quickly brushed her attire down, smoothing it of any wrinkles, and tousled her hair with her fingers, brushing any knots out.

She still felt dead tired. The tree didn't provide the best of sleep, not only that but her back hurt a bit from it's rough bark. What the hell was she thinking sleeping in a tree? It was something she had to try though, hearing of so many other people doing it. Well now she knew why they where so crabby when they awoke.

Her eyes never left the moving army, watching the giant Mecha move forward, the men crossing in somewhat of a uniform stance. Mainly to keep their srg off their back, no less. It was cute the way they moved, like toy soldiers, heading to their ultimate death. Army men made no sense to her, why risk your life for a fight that isn't yours? Wars where stupid, and she hated anyone in them. But for now, this army would have to lead her to at least a way out of Ireland.

"Right, right. Well," He began, "The Russians had a base over in Europe, and we got a base over here. One of their Generals stole our Generals coffee and doughnuts, we didn't like that. So, we've begun operations to steal their doughnuts and coffee from their base. When we found out they had more coffee and doughnut runners over in Ireland, we wanted them out of the way, too. I had coffee and doughnuts in my plane, and the other guys didn't like that, so they shot me down. So then, I had to take a helicopter back here to report my lost coffee and doughnuts... Ma'am."

When he looked around and saw that the other soldiers weren't really here for a joke, he rolled his eyes. "In simplier terms, we're at a standstill. Our troops over in France closest to Germany are stuck in a stalemate with Rebel troops and Russians. There was a suspected base over in Ireland, so we checked that out. I didn't see anything, then again, I got shot down. So they got something to hide. Sergeant Major Crowley is on that, though. Any questions on what's going down?"

Daisuke awoke to the sight of Clare missing. He scratched his head as he quickly got dressed in his now nice dry clothes. He hated running around in wet clothes, and he suspected running around was something he was going to be doing alot of lately, even more so than usual. He sighed. Just his luck he supposed. The girl didnt look like she could take care of herself, but something about her seemed weird. He would worry about her a bit later. He jumped for his sword as the ground began to shake and the sound of cracking concrete under heavy machinery filled the scene. His brain practically froze when he recognized the sounds of its movements and mechanisms. It was a tank, and from the sound of it, it wasnt passing by, it was headed straight for the place. He grabbed his bag full of papers and headed for the back of the Warehouse. He cut himself a hole in the wall and jumped through, quickly finding a place to take cover on the other side. "So now those bastards are destroying any hiding places." He whispered through clenched teeth. He wished this would just all end.

He quickly made his way to a small village filled with troops. It was time for reconnaissance. He swiftly made his way around the camp listening to the troops conversations. He was getting squat until he came across a few troops in a wreck room or what they called one. Inside he could hear them talking about a squadron heading to the British Isles. Daisuke frowned. He had no connections in Ireland. How was he supposed to get to the British Isles. He quickly left the camp without a trace. He sighed when he made his way to the Highlands. He smiled at the site though. Among all the destruction, this part was almost untouched. He remembered that the war heads were launched. He was curious as to why this place still looked the same as it did almost a thousand years before. However, it also gave him new hope and strengthened his resolve. He would end this war. Daisuke smiled as he headed for the waters of Ireland.
