I'm sick of the reasons,
I'm tired of the tears.
Can't I run away?
Away from my fears. . .
Can't things make sense?
For just once in my life.
I want to feel wanted,
Separated from strife.
I want to feel normal,
Things to stop going wrong.
I don't want to be jaded,
By things that are gone.
I don't want to hurt,
Just why do I weep?
I need just one night,
I won't cry myself to sleep.
I'm screaming inside,
I want to let go.
Wouldn't you agree that I'm good?
At putting on a show.
I'm a pro at acting,
But I don't want to pretend anymore.
I'm not really the person,
That they adore.
So why am I here?
Just wasting my time.
I can't reach the top of the mountain,
I'm being forced to climb.
So won't it stop?
Just for a little while.
Can't I be happy?
Bring back my smile. . .
