Aden sank into the chair, Nina in his arms, and enjoyed looking through the scrapbook. For a while, everything in the world seemed right.

Nina finally got to the last picture and closed the album. "Thanks again Aden for the photo album. I really like it." Nina kissed him and said, "It means a lot to me and i'll always keep it close."

The portrait was wrenched open and Arianna ran in, going straight past everyone in the common room without seeing any of them and heading right for her dormitory. The shutting of the portrait was followed by knocks and a few screams of "YOU'LL DAMAGE MEEE!!!" From the portrait itself.

Nina watched Ari go past her and to the dormitory. "Ok..." Nina said confused about why Ari was in this mood. "I wonder what's up with her!?"

"Er...well...Skyler told me that her dad had been diagnosed with this horrible muggle disease, called cancer." He paused for a moment then added quietly "He could die from it."

"That's horrible!" Nina said sadly. 'Maybe I should go see if she is ok! she thought.

Lilliana walked down the staircase of the Hufflepuff Common room, a book clutched in her hand. She was rarely found without one. She had gone barely five steps when someone rushed up the staircase and knocked into her. Her book flew out of her hand and landed a few steps down. Cursing, she retreived her book and walked the remaining length of the stairs. When she got in the Common room, she found two people sitting in a chair. "Er.." she said nervously, "Hi. I'm Lilliana Moon. Um, do you know what that was about?" She indicated to the staircase.

Nina smiled and replied to Lilliana, "Not really, but I was just thinking about going up to talk to her. She's my sister best friend and also a friend of mine." She stood up from the couch and said, "My name is Nina by the way and this is my boyfriend Aden." she paused for a second and added quickly, "and the girl who ran into you was Arianna."

Lilliana smiled at the girl called Nina. "Nice to meet you. So, what was she upset about? Or is it something you can't tell me." Lilliana didn't want to push anybody. She sat down in a squishy armchair and put her book on a table.

Aden interjected. "It's a private family matter. I don't think she'd want people she didn't know to hear about it." He spoke softly. "You understand, right?"
Arianna reached her dorm and flung herself onto her bed. She had only halfway noticed the fact that she'd barelled into someone on her way up. Right now, she didn't care. She lay on her bed, sometimes crying, comtimes staring blankly at the ceiling.

"Yeah. That what I meant. I didn't want to make anyone uncomfortable. It's just, I'm kinda new here. I just transferred from Beauxbatons..." Lilliana trailed off as she fidgeted with the hemline of her skirt. "Anyways. Sorry to bother you." She grabbed her book and disappeared behind its covers.

"It's getting late." Nina said wearily to Aden. "I think I'm gonna go up and talk to Ari and then go to bed." she bent over and kissed Aden, then turned to Lilliana. "It was nice meating you Lilliana." she said smiling. Then she turned and, casting a spell on her trunk, headed upstairs, her trunk floating behind her.

"Er." Lilliana said. She was all alone with Aden in the room. "I think I'm going to go and, um, unpack or something. Night." She grabbed her book and rushed up the staircase to catch up with Nina. "Hey. Do you want some help with her, or should I stay out of it. My friends say I'm good at giving advice and consoling people." She shrugged.

Aden bid a "goodnight" to both the girls as they left, then slipped off to his own dorm room. He jumped as he noticed Skyler sitting dejectedly on his bed. "Skyler? Erm...What are you doing here?"
"It's Ari. I can't get to her room and I'm worried about her, she's been crying and lashing out at everyone, including me, since she got to school."
"She's having a tough time right now. Why don't you go write a note and bewitch it to go to her dorm room or something?"
"Oh...sure." Skyler said noncommitally, but he immediately left for his dorm room. A few moments letter, a note in the shape of a bird flitted down the steps and up to Arianna's bed.
Ari did not even notice the piece of parchment hovering right above her bedside table, she was staring fixedly at a point on the ceiling.
((I control too many characters. I'm tempted to kill one off or something.))
