As the tall woman loomed over him, Mort's eyes managed to widen a bit. Even when being delicate, she frightened him - awed him; her burned face, her obvious signs of battle, her in general. All four of them did, even with different auras of seething anger or other ambiguously negative emotions.
"Do not worry --"
How couldn't he . . .?
"-- everything will be fine."
How could she . . . ?
"Rest."
"C-Can't . . . Won't . . ." But by the time Mort spoke and attempted to try and reach out to her as well, she probably wouldn't be able to hear him; War's heir stepped through the door.
"Why . . ."
Slow zombie was slow. Slow zombie was too late.
Slow zombie was tired of always being inadequate in these situations.

Silence.
And then the figure Eris had half-addressed, the only one standing finally shifted, pulling out something from the ground - it looked like a long spear of sorts - before literally tossing it into the abyss where the last of the Heirs had walked. As he stepped into the void of the door, there was a strange hissing sound, from where the odd spear-weapon had been. The noise continued for just two heartbeats-
- Before everything exploded in flames. Thick, blue, coiling flames, the colour unnatural and foreign to Halloween, devouring everything in its wake. Students barely had time to scream, to even understand what before their skin blistered, blackened, their Fear-made flesh split apart, and the agony - a pain familiar to some from Red's final attack - twisted and melted bodies until they could take no more-
- and finally dissipated. The conflagration continued to feed itself, flickering through the forest, black tree branches blazing eerie blue into the sky.
So much for promises. OOC - ALL STUDENTS IN THIS THREAD: YOU HAVE DISSIPATED and are back in the school, in the Nurse's Office. - Congrats on making it this far! You have earned +4 bonus rp points for this RP as long as you posted more than 800 words total. If you did not quite make it you get +2 bonus rp points. So that is +2/4 on top of the usual RP amount for battle rps (+2). YOU DO NOT GET EXTRA POINTS FOR THREAD HOPPING THE MAX YOU CAN GET IS 6 POINTS. - All Hunters are assumed to have left already okay. Please go post HEREGM PRP REQUESTS - GM PRP REQUESTS are now in session. PM Zoomutt with a request for a follow up or GM PRP, or simply feel free to join in the next series of GM ORPS that will happen soon, or use the school office here to ICly book a time or date to talk. - For PM'ed GM PRP requests please request only if there are three or more students. If you would like to do a solo GM PRP, simply use the office, where questions will be answered to the best of IC ability there, and hopefully some follow up. - PM requests also require the people involved as well as a rough estimate of the content that would like to be covered (ie: __ and __ and __ are asking about the status of the Horsemen, or a series of multiple questions is fine, I would just like to know the premises of what, and why they are asking/ what does it lead up to? ) - There is also some follow up rp currently happening here but students are probably too busy recovering their Fear after the last incident....

There were a lot of questions on Minerva's mind, but none of which she felt ready to ask their leader--not when he had...guests...lingering at his sides.
So she left as the others had. As she had been instructed to. Refusing to look back.

Xiu regained consciousness slowly, the fluttering of her eyelids the only outward indication that she was starting to wake up. After a few seconds passed, she finally opened her eyes. How long had she been out for? What had happened? From what she could see, her friends were still exactly where they had been when she had passed out, and the cloaked figures...
They were gone. Maybe they were behind her? The baku didn't check--rather, she couldn't check, considering how weak she felt. She had been stuck in that net for a long time, and it was clear that she had lost a lot of FEAR in the process. She wondered what had happened--had anyone been awake to watch? It seemed like she wasn't the only one to have passed out.
The baku struggled in an attempt to push herself up into a sitting position, but she found that she couldn't manage it just yet. She emitted a sigh--a little one, a frustrated one--and resigned herself to staying in her curled up position on the ground for now. She could see Lacie, Sparrow, and Vaith in front of her...but where was Levi? The tatzel had been beside her when she was caught.
"Jiejie?" Her voice came out as a soft murmur so she tried again, louder this time.
Only, she never got a chance to get a response when her vision went...blue? There was blue everywhere--flames that spread over and consumed her and the others students. Xiu squeezed her eyes shut, not only because of the agonizing and surprisingly familiar pain, but because she didn't want to watch as her friends burned right in front of her eyes.
The only good thing about this "death"? Though it was almost unbearably painful, the flames managed to consume them quickly enough.

Fire?
Fire.
Fire.
Maybe Mort would have attempted a braver end by, say, trying to cover the nearest student. But he was just too tired. Too slow.
For the second time in too short of a period, Mortimer ate fire and crapped out not even enough FEAR to be ash.

Ren did not even move this time. Fingers clenched tightly at his sides, he waited for it to end, waited for it to disappear, along with himself. It was, as Xiu had noticed, a very familiar pain, in spite of everything - and there was only one thought in Ren's mind.
Don't let LW suffer.
But it was a useless, hopeless, groundless thought, because he knew she would be in just as much pain as he would and he could not do a single thing about it.
So he simply closed his eyes, letting the horrible, agonizing pain of the flames engulf him until there was nothing more but blackness and the screaming fire and then -
Nothing more.
---------------------------------------------
Sparrow, for his part, had never been on any of the field trips. He had not yet known what it felt like to die, did not understand what the students had gone through while he had been safe at the school.
Until now, when he caught sight of the enormous, towering blue flames as they swept across the forest, burning and crackling.
No, his mind thought, eyes widening in sheer terror. No, don't, go away, get away -
But there was nothing to stop it, and within seconds Sparrow felt the first lick of the fire against his already bruised and battered body.
A scream escaped his throat, long and drawn out, the pain like nothing he had ever felt before - completely and utterly agonizing.
Let it stop. Please, just let me die.
He closed his eyes, drowning in flames until there was nothing more to burn.

Whatever. It seemed it was time to go and thus the short goblin golem went forth and logged itself off.
The end!

Vaith had never regained consciousness from the attack. Or it was more accurate to say, he was stuck between the middle of conscious and unconscious, which was most unfortunate. If meant that the heirs and their words pieced through his ears, registering that there was some sort of happening ..
.. and that the fierce blue blaze would not allow him to escape the pain. He couldnt open his eyes even if he wanted to-- his sight was burned from him, he had never known the agony of being burned alive. He had taken Ren too lightly when he asked the other.. Of course, nothing was ever real until you experienced it. His body crumpled as his fists dug into the dirt, his knees digging in from that pain--- and that was the end of it.
Before he burned into oblivion, he knew one thing. He wanted to die. And never come back.

One second, he's been wavering in place, everything silent, watching over Lizzy. The next thing he knew, after having blinked perhaps, everything was blue.
Blue, burning and horrific to watch. Lizzy was burning right in front of his eyes, her beautiful skin turning black and splitting apart, her pretty pink hair shriveling and falling away. Her sweet innocent face...
Mot squeezed his eyes shut, realizing he too was burning alive, an agonizing nauseating pain ringing over him. His fists clenched, body hunching over as he screamed in pain.
It was quick, but oh so painful.
Eventually there was nothing left of the cowboil as he dissipated into sweet darkness.

Pain. Excruciating pain. A whimper escaped as LW tried to fight off letting on just how much it hurt. So...much pain....
If there was one thing she had wished to never feel again, it was this pain. Familiar and almost more agonizing the second time around. It seemed to consume her slower than the last time. During that battle...
Ren. Tybalt. Jove. Dear Jack it was too much to ask that they weren't suffering through this as well.
LW curled into herself, unable to keep from screaming as the fire consumed her and everyone else. The paaaain! OhJack the pain. Make it stop...please. Ren! The smiling face of her boilfriend was the last thing she thought of before that oh so welcoming darkness took her and the pain ceased.

(retconning since her capture + the last few gm posts)
She looked around bewilderingly to see that it had been a creature like her that had captured her. Why..? It was then that she remembered the horsemen's warning -- they had infiltrated themselves disguised as halloweeners. And she had let her guard down. It had only been minutes afterwards that Lacie had been captured. "I'm sorry, I'm sorry." She repeated, hating herself for being so useless. No matter what she did, what she tried, she always failed in the end. She tried to reach Xiu through the net but as the nets strengthened, Lacie fell to the ground, her limbs burning in pain. Her golden eyes were filled with tears.
In the background, there was somebody yelling. "SON OF A b***h! Don't you jackin SLEEP!"
"Hurt yourself if you gotta, BUT DON'T JACKIN' SLEEP!!"
It was hard to do so.. Lacie's capacity for pain and the growing need for sleep dominating her body. But her mind resisted, Lacie begging her body to withstand it. Please don't sleep.. But at the last moment -- she saw several figures materialize themselves. She saw but no longer heard. She did not recognize the head hunter, but she didn't need to, his coat making his identity obvious. It was the same hunter that had killed Red. But what surprised her was the submission of the four horsemen. They were following him? Not Aisa.. why? She remembered how that particular death horsemen flicked her forehead, spoke against the Hunters at the meeting.. why? Why was she going along with them? They must have had a reason. But even then, Lacie worried for them. Please don’t go! Lacie wanted to say but even her mouth wouldn’t move. The simple act of speaking was an exhaustion in itself. Lacie wanted to reach out but her hand, but it only lifted slightly.. before dropping once more. She had no more strength. Even her eyesight was failing her, blurring until she could no longer see what was happening around her.
Even as the nets were lifted, Lacie had already fallen into unconsciousness. But even in her sleep, the searing pain of her burning flesh had her flinching, turning pale as the pain wouldn't even let her speak or scream. Her crumpled form reached out for a way to stop the pain but it was endless. Her body could no longer stand the agony as the fear particles ripped apart inside of her, leaving Lacie to disappear.

Willow watched as the standing figure threw something, and the place burst into flames. OH jack, OH JACKING HELL Willow thought as she tried to move closer to Mei. However, any efforts to move to help the living doll were thwarted the fire moved way too quickly.
She had to wonder why the horseman would go with a man that would set them all on fire... of course there was a reason for everything.
Everything was now burning; ghouls, boils, the forest was on fire. Soon the byakko felt the familiar pains of the fire, it was just like when Red burnt her to a crisp. The pain, the memories it brought back, the tiger was powerless to do anything but to burn. There was a small shudder before she was completely consumed by flames, and dissipated into nothingness. Well at least until she would respawn back at the nurse's office.
((Willow is dissipating to the Nurse's office.))

Moure could only watch, head barely off the surface of the dirt, as the Horsemen finally left and the other standing figure came forward. They were holding something, something long and pointy, much like a stake or perhaps a spear? They then had thrown it down. Moure watched it's fall, wondering exactly what that was supposed to accomplish. It was making some kind of horrid hissing sound, and Moure could feel his brain slowly trying to connect the dots that something probably wasn't right, and that the spear was going to do something that it most certainly was not supposed to be doing.
He was right.
Suddenly, there were curling blue flames engulfing everything and anything it touched. Moure strained backward, trying to move, to do anything that could possibly get him away from the giant deathtrap coming toward him. Moure had slowly been recovering from his fear of fire, and only slightly, due to being friends with Danny, but any slight resistance to the natural undead panic button concerning fire that Moure had made, it was destroyed instantly in the face of the raging monstrosity before him.
The flames weren't normal, not by any means. Moure managed a choked scream, his panic finally finding a voice to use, before the flames poured over him like a burning torrent. His seams snapped almost instantly, his Parts seperating and combusting almost in a chain reaction. He could only watch and yell silently as he watched his body catch fire and burn into ashes, piece by stitched piece. Even the very skin was roasting, ripping open before destroying itself in the agony of the flames. Finally, the waves of flames claimed the rest of him, burning up his undead body like a match to a gasoline-sodden straw. The infinite pain racked his Runner's frame, and somewhere, in some detached part of his brain, Moure could only think, 'Cphira's going to kill me for wrecking my body.'
This was it, though. He was dead. Literally dead. He didn't even need to wait for Cphira to put him out of his misery. The fire would do it for her. There was no way he could come back fromt his, undead or not. Moure was almost completely convinced of this. In the split second before he felt himself fully combusting, disinigrating into ash and Fear, Moure wished he'd told Edel how much he truly cared for her. Then his mind was fully engulfed by the ineffiable pain.
And then Moure was gone.
(Exiting! (and getting off for the night, so Moure'll get to the Nurse's office tomorrow. ^^; ))
