Kasumi paused for a moment with the squeal of the pup and for some reason seemed to have frozen stiff. Her dark blue eyes watched him as he disappeared and her hands curled into fists. She fell to her knees and glared at the ground in anger. She removed her fists from her pockets and set them on the ground. She uncurled her right hand pressing the transmutation circle on it against the ground. A few blue sparks came from her hands as large stone spikes shot up through out the alleyway. "b*****d...you'll pay with your life..." Kasumi muttered to herself.

She sat there for a while in anger, a low growl coming from her throat. She stood up, and looked around. 'The eyes of a murder' would be the common term for the look in her eyes. She looked at all the pikes around her and then down at the ground. She changed into the black rave and flapped it's wings and flew up out of the alley and above the roofs. For now, it'd be best to get home, and track down Scar when she was under control.

Mamoru bearly managed to dodge Michico's fireball, but it does slightly burn the left sleeve of his kimono. "It seems that you are a better aalchemist than I had thought. Why don't we see how you do against my wind blades?" Then, with a wave of his fan, Mamaru sent 5 razor sharp blades of wind hurtling towards The Magma Alchemist.

Michiko only had a split second to think. She thought I don't think my rock wall can hold this off but is is worth a try. She thrust her left hand onto the ground, the glove glowed once again and another rock wall came jeting out of the ground. The wind blades tore through the rock wall. This well trained alchemist knew this would happen so she was prepared. She snaped her right hand and a flaming wall appeared out of thin air. The blades were stoped barely but it seemed that it worked. The fire went out immediately and the fighting ceased for a few seconds. Then Michiko put her left hand on the ground smirked and then the glove lit up and there was a rumbling underneath their feet. A crevas began to form under Mamoru's feet is split faster and faster every second. "Now what will you do?" said The Magma Alchemist.

The black raven flew for a few more blocks before landing in an alleyway. Landing on the ground, the bird spread out it's wings and it slowly changed back to Kasumi. She walked out of the alleyway, still keeping the same look in her eyes. Luckily she was actully just across the street from her home. She walked up to a large iron gate, that was the enterance to her property, around it was a stone wall. The stone wall was about seven feet high and foot feet thick. She took out a key from her pocket and unlocked the gate and pushed it open. The gate make creaking noise as it was opened and then closed again, Kasumi locked it of course. She walked down the pathway, that was roughly fifteen to twenty fet to the door to her house.

It wasn't really anything special. A one story house, not that big, and it was painted black, that was the one weird thing about it. She noticed a woman sitting by a window close to the door. She knew who i was though. She unlocked the door to the house and walked in and slammed the door behind her. Her dark blue eyes gazed at the woman sitting there. "I'll be in my study if you need me Shadow." Kasumi replied in a cold and enraged voice.

She walked down the small hallway and took a right going into the first door to her left. After once again slamming the door behind her she went to a desk in the center of the room. The room was lined with bookshelves. The books where military files, alchemy books, and a few things just for fun. There was only one wind in the back of the room, which was the only source of light except for a small lamp on her desk. Kasumi knelt down behind her desk opening the top left drawer and taking out the exam, lukcily it was on top. She set it to the side of her desk and pulled up her chair and sat down. With a soft sigh, she began to realize just what trouble she was in.

If she told Scar he'd with out a doubt tell Matthew then she'd have to kill him to prevent the rest of the military finding out. On the other hand if she didn't tell Scar Joy would be killed, if he hadn't already killed her. If the young pup was dead or killed, Kasumi decided she won't speak one word. It was sad and empty though for her without her little pup around.

What little light there was created a shadow over Kasumi's face, since it was coming from behind her. The homunculi rested her chin on her desk and stared off into space thinking about what to do next, and how to deal with the traitors in the military.

Scar stared with a glare at the young pup as he huddled in a corner, it's beedy little eyes focuseing on the Ishbalan. The pup shivered and squeeled softly nearly freaking out when Scar lifted his left hand and thrusted it towards the dog.

However, Scar began to pet the thing and then dragged it into his lap. He sat there against a wall in an abandoned home; just outside of Central. The dog continued to shiver but with every passing second it began to relax. This side of Scar was never shown to the public, he felt sorry for the poor thing and tried to calm it down as soon as possible.

His mind focused on young Matt Edison, the Forge Alchemist. Weither he liked it or not, Matt was indeed his enemy. Yet to kill the alchemist seemed to be a hard choice for Scar. For whatever reason Matt joined the military, it really didn't matter. What did was the fact of his brother and himself being held captive. It was then, as the Ishbalan recollected his past, he recognized Forge; a young new recruit. Matt was hideing in the corner then and refused to have any part in the execution.

These thoughts plundered through his mind, over and over again. Even though what Matt wore and had as identification which stood for everything he was against, he still couldn't keep his knewly confronted past out of his head. Like Edward Elric, Matt joined the military for different reasons and viewed all races of huming beings as equals.

~~~~~~~~~~~~~~~~~~~~~~~~~~~~~~~~~~~~~~~~~~~~~~~
Matt now sat at his desk again in the main office of Central H.Q. Lieutenant Colonel Hughes was gone for a rather long time, it was like he was digging more into John's pst that Matt himself had wanted. It was taking hours for the Lt to locate the information which caused Matt to fall asleep in his normal, feet resting on desk and head layed back, position.
Soon, about ten minutes after wakeing up, Hughes entered and waved a file around to catch the alchemist's attention.
"I found everything that dates back to when he was born to where he was seen last." Hughes said in a calm manner.
Matt nodded and thanked the Lieutenant heartfully. "I could have gone without the past life of his but I do need to know where he was seen last." The alchemist took the folder and opened it to see dozens of papers which all had information on them. The last location was soon identified as Old Town, just outside of Xing.
He nearly spran up in shock knowing that he could get there by train so quickly. Matt felt as if a piece of the largest puzzle in history had been added and he was getting closer to completing it.
Hughes however interruped Matt before he could run off. "Where are you going?" Asked the Lt. who seemed rather curious about something.
"To grab a ticket Sir, I need to goto Xing." Replied Matt as his green eyes stared directly into Hughes Soul. A sense of determination was running through his blood and showed brightly; Hughes noticed this.
The Lieutenant hustled around but continued to block Matt's way. "It was brought to my knowledge that John was killed in Old Town. May I ask why you're so interested in a dead man?" Hughes' curiousity lead him to the question which hit Matt deeply. Leaving the alchemist speachless for a brief moment.
Matt was unsure what to say but his face soon turned to a dark eary glare, "I don't think he's dead Hughes...atleast not mentally" added the alchemist.
Hughes backed away and smiled seeing the determination and courage shinning brighter within the young adult. "Listen, they're higher powers that might influence you or keep you from obtaining your goal." The Lt. leaned his back against the doorway and crossed his arms as he closed his eyes and continued, "Don't tell anybody about this. I'm starting to think that something is going down and it's right behind our backs. I think we're being manipulated and some of us might be lead to an early grave."
Matt smiled nodding and thinking about the higher powers within the State. "Hughes, if you can't take the heat then you might as well get out of the kitchen. I'll be the one cooking." With a grin the alchemist began to walk off.
The Lt. placed his hand on Matt's shoulder and made an expretionless face, "Becarfule Forge. We all walk on the two feet we were given but sometimes we don't see the ditches in the road. Watch your back kid."
With that the two departed from Matt's office. The Forge alchemist was headed off to the ticket room, which would require confermation from Kasumi the Fuhrer. Luckily the Fuhrer's office was nearby so Matt made a quick turn and knocked on the door. Once he entered he noticed a rather odd looking girl who he had seen around the H.Q. very often.
Kasumi's secretary, Shadow, was rather beautiful in many ways. Why anybody would want to be Kasumi's secretary was behind him. The Fuhrer had a wild temper and it was something many of the State dispised but it made them stronger. The same thing happened to Matt, he of corse was one of the alchemists who took her punishment.
He had to enter and ask for the pass so when he approached the desk he tried to act as casual as possible. Matt tried to ignore the presence of Shadow and proceded to ask Kasumi for permition. "Excuse me ma'am. I need a passport to Xing please." The Forge Alchemist asked and stood in position, clicking his heels together and standing at attention, his righth and resting in mid air just over his eyebrows.
Shadow stopped writing and moved her dark blue eyes up over the rim of her glasses. Her gaze seemed empty, though nonetheless she seemed to always have some sign of unease in her gaze. She looked down to the right and opened the botom drawer and pulled out a passport for Matthew and placed it at te end of the desk. "Why are you going? How long will you be gone?" She spoke, her voice sort of quiet and soft. Unlike Kasumi who was always harsh, cruel, and was not afirid to speak her thoughts.
Her dark blue eyes looked back down at the papers under her right hand as she continued writing where she had left off. The woman seemed to be a little worried about something, if anyone knew her they would know she is worried what sort of trouble Kasumi is in or what kind of trouble she is causing.
Matt tried to remain as calm as always. Though as he stared at her blue eyes, they seemed to saduce him, like she was planning something. But he put that aside and his green eyes stared right back at her. "There's an investigation that Hughes would like me to take into my own hands." This was fake of corse but Matt knew that Kasumi would question the Lt. Colonel and in doing so he would give some bullshit reply. "As for how long," Matt simply shrugged, "I really don't know. It all depends how long the investigation will last."
With that said and done the alchemist procceded closer to Kasumi's desk and slowly placed his hands on the passport. He did find it rather odd that Kasumi already had everything filled out, like she was one step ahead of him but never the less he ignored the peculiar signs and attempted to slide the passport away from her gaze.
"Two weeks at most. When you are back you are to bring a report of your findings." Shadow continued her wirting while easily remaining valm. Her eyes moved across the paprer following what she writes. She paused for a moment before remembering something that Kasumi told her. She stopped writing and lifted her head up towards the alchemist. "Also when you are back you are to have a meeting with the Fuhrer. " Shadow tillted her head back down and continued her writing. Her dark blue eyes following her hand as she wrote.
Matt froze and suddenly remembering what Scar had told him about Kasumi. He knew she wasn't who she said she would be but he didn't know if she knew about him finding out. Once he returned to the world of the present he looked over at Shadow.
Again, this female secretary was rarely seen out in public or walking about the area of H.Q. Matt always thought of her being the outcast when she was growling up. There was something suspisious but he couldn't quite put his finger on it.
With a calm nod Matt took the passport and slipped it into his coat pocket. Then after giving Kasumi a ferm salute, he left the room and headed towards the boy's outfitting room.
The room itself was rather large and there wasn't any time of day you could walk in without catching someone else already occupieing a small space. The outfitting room was a normal hang out for many male alchemists and it was rare that a female would walk in to chat. There was always a male alchemist or basic infantry soldier dressing himself into either his normal clothes or uniform.
Matt approached his locker and opened it. He removed his coat and rested it on a small nub on the inside of the locker door. His black shirt was sleevless, exposeing fairly descent muscles on his arms, giving others the information that the Forge alchemist wasn't punny. The young male removed his shoes and pants, then put on a nice pair of grey, white, and black camoflauge pants, and a military form of a black tanktop. Once his pants and shirt fit his body he put on his black military boots. He took a sit down on a bench behind him and tucked the legs of his camo pants into his boots. Then he put his red coat back on and slipped his military pocket watch into one of the pockets in his pants.
Once the Forge alchemist was dressed he began to walk away soon leaving the office to head off to the nearest train. The next ride out of Central would arrive in about fifty minutes but luckily Hughes already asked for an escort to the train station.
Shadow lifted her head up watching the young alchemist leave. She knew better then to believe him after what Kasumi had told her. She set the pen done to the right of the papers and stood up. She removed her glasses and placed them on the papers as well. The woman placed her hands in her pocket and walked out of the office. Hopefully Hughes was in his office. She was known for being very quiet and perhaps shy. Though that was all just an act, if anything she is a lot like Kasumi, after all, the human Kasumi, was her sister. Maybe that is why she is so defensive over this Kasumi, even though she knows it's not her sister.
Her dark blue eyes stared blankly as she walked. It wasn't that far to his office, thankfully for her. She prefered to just have people come to her instead but at that's not the way the world works. She came to the door to his office knowing on it. "Lieutenant Colonel Hughes I need to speak with you." She spoke firmly and now did not seem so timid. It was work and there was no room to be timid and weak. A lesson she learned by force from Kausmi.
PostPosted: Thu May 12, 2005 5:53 pm
Hughe's head lifted up from underh is desk. He then quickly hang up the phone who had Roy on the other side. "I know what you came to speak to me about..." The Lt. stood up and walked over to the door, closeing it as he gave her an expressionless stare. The door closed shut and suddenly Hughes, knowing exactly how shy she was, nearly sprang out to come face to face with her. "You want a picture of my doughter don't you!" He shouted as he gave a bit smile and pulled a picture out. "Awwwww wait until this weekend when me and my wife throw a little party, you'll be one of the first to get invited!" The Lt. added with a happy smile.
~~~~~~~~~~~~~~~~~~~~~~~~~~~~~~~~~~~~~~~~~~~~~~~

Matt was escorted to the terminal and then stepped out of the car when it came to a complete stop. Once he had gather a medium sized suitcase and entered the building, the escort drove off. Now he was on his own but headed towards the ticket booth. Once there he purchased a train ticket and then headed to the train where he could find a seat and relax for a couple hours until his destination would be reached.

As he boarded the train he noticed a rather large male and a femal counter part. The female herself wore a white large shirt and black pants, her black hair was curled and most of it was tied behind her head. The two sat next to Matt but didn't say a word, however the women tended to pass glares to the young male.

Her partner was the size of a grizzly bear and very quiet as well. Matt felt the need to move but he didn't flinch, instead he looked to the side and took one last long look at Central before he would head off.

Matt could still feel the gazes of the two strangers but he was rather polite and said nothing. In the past he would snap out like the military dog he was made to be but he had grown out of his arrogence, atleast he thought he had. After a few moments the train began to ride off, Central slowly passing by him until it could not be seen. Matt sighed unhappily, he felt bad leaving his friends behind, the only ones who knew about his asbence didn't talk much to others.

Shadow closed her eys and let out a small sigh and crossed her arms. Her right fingers tapping on her arms in annoyance as she shrugged her shoulders a little. "That's nice to know but skipping to the point since I still have a lot of work to do. What would be so important or unimportant that you would have to send Matthew away to Xing?" She spoke in a slightly annoyed voice. She opened her eyes and gave Hughes the same glare Kasumi was well known for. The classic annoyed and angry glare, which for Kasumi was normally followed by a little violence, and for Shadow, that might end up being the case one day with someone. Hopefully not Hughes, since he was nice though a little obsessed with his daughter.
PostPosted: Thu May 12, 2005 6:17 pm
Hughes froze for a moment, yelling mentally at himself. Of corse the Lieutenant knew well enough that either Kasumi or some one of a higher rank would speak to him for more information. Quickly his mind thought as fast as it could for an excuse and then he tried to make up a false story. "Well you see, the thing is...I'm working on something at the moment and Colonel Mustang is too busy shopping with Riza to give the little squirt a mission." Hughes replied to her question and stood up straight to help make her believe him. He then added, "We herd from an anomonious tip that our recent crew of State Alchemists were being killed just out of Xing, in a small city called Resembull. I sent him to investigate since he was the only free State Alchemist and qualified for the job I might add." The Lt. pushed the ridge of his glasses up and gave Shadow a rather confident stare.

Shadow narrowed her eyes, her right fingers still tapping on her left shoulder. She didn't believe him if such things where happpening she and Kasmui would know. She didn't know so it must be a lie. "I want you to tell me the truth Hughes. If such things where happening I would know." Shadow voice was serious and her gaze would easily unsettle someone, at least if they knew what she was capable of which very few did. In fact very few knew of her automail arms either. She always wore gloves to hide her hands, that might be a hint but it didn't matter. "And how is a traitor the only on quilified. If it wasn't for him Scar would be dead right now." Shadow added in a final comment and would wait to see what Hughes would say.
