Fae sat close to the den's entrance, just outside of the rain's icy grip, to watch for Niobe and Benoni's return. It had been a long time now since she'd last seen the king, not since... she'd been a cub, hadn't she?
A lot had changed, hadn't it? Now he'd have to face the most jarring change of them all, one the entire pride was left reeling from. Fae had never been so close to the queen, but even she could feel the void of her loss. Especially in Kila's children. The circumstances were different, obviously, but she knew how it felt to lose a mother.
The whole pride suffered in one way or another. If not from Kila, then from Polaris. Even if, somehow, you weren't pained by either... the sadness in the air was palpable. There was no escaping it. She did what she could to help, but no herbs Niobe had shown her could cure these sorts of wounds. Benoni's return, in a way, would ease the pain... but it would be bittersweet. She knew that much already.

Dakota's frame moved with a grace he'd gotten from his mother Ayana, but his shire size was of his father. He'd returned, finally Dakota thought with a flick of his tail, with Kila now gone a weight seemed to be lifted from his shoulders. He no longer felt as if he didnt belong here with his family, padding up besides Fae he watched her for a long moment. She'd been silent for as long as he could remember, but a silent beauty none the less. Peeking out to look at his father, he felt a pang of sorrow at his fathers crumpled form. "Hes home now..things shall be better hopefully." His gruff voice rumbled out softly.
Benoni's sides finally stopped heaving as he lifted his head, eyes closed he took a breath. The silence of the land made sense now, she'd left...and with him gone..He shook his head. "Im sorry, I shouldnt have left..things shouldnt have happened like this." His eyes grew hard, as he closed himself off from the emotional pang that ate at him now.
Niobe sighed, he was hurting..and she couldnt ease the pain. "Tis her loss my dearest brother.." Niobe nuzzled him once more before padding towards the den, soaked from the heavy rain.

Fae glanced at the prince from the corner of her eye as he settled beside her. She may wander alone now and then, to clear her thoughts. But she wasn't a very solitary creature, always grateful for the company of her pride mates. The lioness kept her gaze trained to the rainy scene, waiting for a sign that they may return.
But she stole a shy glance or two at Dakota, nervous. Not the sort of nervous she was used to, forever waiting for the attack that would never come. She wasn't afraid of him. Why would she be? She'd known him since the day of his birth, and he'd never so much as raised his voice to her. No, it was nothing like that. It was just... was he watching her? She didn't know why, but the thought made her cheeks burn.
When he spoke at last, she turned to face him. She gave a soft little nod, her dark eyes bright with understanding and hope. Everyone would need time to heal... but things would get better. They had to.
Maybe one good thing had come out of this. It was subtle... perhaps it was nothing at all. But Fae swore she saw it. In spite of Dakota's sorrow, he'd changed since Kila had left them. Lighter, somehow. The way he carried himself, even the rough way he spoke. She offered him a tiny, sweet little smile that was so distinctly her own, giving his shoulder a gentle nudge. She didn't think she had much to offer, but a little reassurance was better than none. That was something she knew all too well.
When she spotted Niobe heading back, alone, she stood up to greet her the second she set paw into the den. Soaking wet or not, nothing would have stopped Fae from giving her mother a big, loving nuzzle. When she pulled back, her features practically radiated concern for both her and Benoni.

The emerald lioness had return only recently from a short trek around the pride. Seated in the shelter of a tree a little ways away from the den Corbin was still gone, in seach of his sister. Bakari had gone as well, though for other purpouses. A faint smile crossed her maw. Her son had found a love, she had seen.
The sound of the roar make the smile grow and Ayana stoof, ears flicking. So he had returned. Padding silently, as graceful as ever, she walked towards them, spotting the large form of her fon first, with the silent Fae. Then Niobe as she left to the den, then Benoni. Her tail flicked gently, rain falling againt her delicate form.
"Welcome home, Benoni," she murmered gently, nodding her head before making her way closer.

The thorns on his side had grown into heavy vines constricting his movements, dragging his conscience on the mud. Another unsucessful search. though he couldn't go away like Corbin, Cayimmi still ventured away from the pride almost daily, returning with his spirit lower each day. He'd do his best not to let it show to the others, especially his love, not to further depress them... but when he was alone, it was hard, so hard... Even now, as he returned from the fruitless expedition, the rain that started falling and soaking the purple and golden male fit his mood better than ever. Just in time to hear one of the roars he'd longed to have heard for seemingly too long. How could he face Benoni though? He just stopped on his way, watching his deformed reflection on a puddle forming by his paws. Guilt. For being a bad father. For being a bad lover. For being a bad friend. For everything.

He was used to her silence, though it seemed she spoke worlds more than those who actually used their voices. Nodding his head silently, Dakota watched at Fae greeted her mother, his aunt. Smiling he nosed her cheek softly, before about to head out to greet his father, he paused and spied his mother, and then his uncle Cayimmi out as well. An ear flicked back before he moved further into the den silently, going to his little private area.
Niobe nuzzled her daughter in return, her heart was so torn these days. She was happy to have her brother back, full of sorrow at the loss of her daughter, and furious at Kila. But the tender touch of Fae caused her to purr happily, things would get better. Turning she spied her mate as well, she licked Fae's cheek before moving over towards him to give him a loving nuzzle and lick his maw. "She'll return m'love...shes strong like you are.." She reassured him.
A slow grin pulled across his muzzle as he lifted his head and looked to Ayanna with and chuckled. "Aye, what a welcoming eh?" he tried to keep the bitter angst out of his voice, he nosed her cheek softly as he looked over to the den, seeing his son, niece and brother in law warmed his heart. But the look on Cayimmi's face told him everything, Polaris was still missing...damnit he thought. He would kill whoever his niece was either.

Maeri scurried around aimlessly, she knew these borders better than any where else. Though she would rather not be here, for Benoni's scents were strong again. If Kila knew he came back she'd be heart broken...again. Pft, she didn't have to tell. She needed to find Jasmyn and this was her first destination. The blood spattered mouse neared the cave and having scented nothing relating to Jazz.
She wanted to get out of here as soon as possible. She didn't think Benoni would be very forgiving if he caught her...or Niobe...or anyone. To them she was a traitor too, she assumed. Plus Tabansi, Anu, Vasilios and Daiquiri were gone.

Adaeze's paw smacked the earth behind the little creature, claws bared slightly. She lowered her head and eyed the mouse slowly, it belonged to her mother.
Adaeze didnt know what to think, or feel of her mother just leaving her. Them. She lifted her head and looked around, wondering if her mothers vibrant colors would appear as well, but when they didnt her eyes narrowed on the mouse. "What are you doing here?" she asked calmly. She was Queen now, til her father was better.

The mouse jumped at the rumble of the earth before she turned to see her mistresses daughter. "Why hello Adaeze..." she smiled weakly. "I was looking for Jasmyn to tell you the truth." the mouse blinked her large eyes at the lion. "If you don't mind I should probably be going now though..." she wanted to scram as fast as she could, she didn't want to face Benoni. Not at all. She wasn't as scared of Adaeze. She personally, liked her.

She lifted her head, and looked back towards the pride for a moment. "My aunt isnt here..Though, what do you wish to tell her?" she asked, she'd use the Q word if she must. She was curious of what her mother had gotten into..and how she was.
"Tell my mother..That she is a grandmother from Sophia.." She flicked her tail. And that you ruined father she thought to herself as she rolled her claws.
Adaeze's happiness had been ruined by all of this, she was angry about it. She'd finally found a mate, in her beloved knight Wii but no one knew as well, she couldnt kill her father, and telling him surely would. And she just sighed, ears flattening slightly.

Maeri smiled, "She will be thrilled!" she exclaimed happily. "Oh well just somethings that have been happening since your brothers, nephew and mother left." she was beating around the bush for awhile before she looked up to see that vengeful look in Adaeze's eyes which was the reason she was. Her crimson orbs watched her as it grew to disappointment.
"Since Benoni's leaving and your mother's growing loniliness...she left....and along the way she met a 'friend.'" she blinked. "A special friend who she is having cubs with at the moment." she hesitated as she said it. "And it has been said to add to the drama that my mistresses, your grandfather has been seen by a local hyena pack yet no one else has." she frowned. "Even worse is the only one Kila speaks of more than is Benoni and the childeren she left behind..."
Her facial expressions grew, "I'm sorry for all of this news but Kila has been known for rash descions when it comes to companions." she didn't know what to say, anymore.

She choked back a sob now, her mother had cubs with another. She looked away, eyes closed tightly, oh how she wished her Wii was with her at this moment...Ears folded back she took a breath. "Where is she?" she asked, she did her best not to growl.
Now even she was betrayed, cubs with another?! Yet she couldnt..Adaeze's mind traveled to her father, praying he'd never know of this. "As active Queen, I would like to know where my mother is...and this b*****d traitor that prays on those who do not belong to them.." She growled then.
He'd watched his daughters face crumple, and that pained him further than the mouses words. His gaze had grown so cold from the news that his mate had left, she was still his he viewed. She hadnt told him it was over, only left. He'd kill the jack a** who had touched what was his, with a snarl he made his presence known. "Yes, were is my darling mate.." He laughed, his insanity was showing.
Little mouse thought of running, and he'd kill her..And he'd make it known to his little queen he'd done it.

Maeri's heart grew faster, Adaeze was Queen now? "She resides in the protection of Santos and his Queen Adia in the midst of Rose Petal Pride." her ears flattened. "If there is anything else you wish to know, if I know the answer I will truthfully tell you but I pray that you will spare me. This news is supposed to go to my mistresss' sister. Lady Jasmyn."

With a sigh, she sat down and rubbed her temple a bit. "Aunt hasnt been around in ages.." She muttered, eyes closed. She was still so shocked, and now her father new.
This could not be good at all.
He nuzzled his daughters shoulder. This all had to be hard on her, and it pained him to know his children were hurting, specially Adaeze. She was always so eager to please her parents, and now look how they were repaying her.
He looked to Maeri now, lavender orbs narrowed. "Tell my dearest Kila to meet us at the boarders of her saftey. Make sure she remembers to cross the lines as I will not be causing a war on her behalf, nor upsetting King Santos...Do you hear me?" he asked, tones sharping. "I believe Jasmyn is with her mate..."
