Ben chuckled at Rake's comment and put his hand on his shoulder. "I know I can count on you Rake." Then he turned back to Kale still smiling. "And I'll have whatever you wish to make. Anything you cook tastes good."

Kale raised an eyebrow in Rake's direction; and frowned. "You'll get what I serve." She murmured, though her tone was obviously playful. She looked back to Ben and nodded her head; before going to begin cooking. Kale was quick, she had always been a quick cook -- you had to be in the restaurant business; otherwise people would complain and tips would be lost.
Cooking made her think of her family; but she had a new family now -- and she was proud of them, dysfunctional or not.
As she cooked, sizzling; crackling, splashing -- and otherwise noises could be heard, as well as the tune she was humming. It sounded old time like; probably something she had picked up from her father. Kale couldn't tell she was doing it, it was just a force if habit.
Soon, thereafter -- she began plating the food she had whipped up. "Lunch is on, boys!" She called, her tone was pleasant; not so melancholy as before. It seemed cooking had brought Kale back to her happy-go-lucky self!

Ben smelled Kale's cooking and was lost in the scent of her food made with her special spices and happily took the plate of food and downed it as fast as he could choking on it afew times forgeting to swallow but finished fairly quick and placed the plate back on the deck standing up and wiping his mouth of the crumbs. "Thank you Kale. Guess I'll see you two later. And tell Jesbero about this too." He turned around waving to Kale and Rake walking off teh ship and into Jaya leaving the crew in Kale's hands for now.

Ben made his way into an island by the name of Jaya. It seemed a bit empty, as all he could see from where he was standing was a dense forest. Luckily, he had set foot on one of Jaya's clearings. Ben looked around, seeing nothing but a small house with its door wide open. He found this peculiar and began to walk towards it. Suddenly, a man appeared before him and frowned. "What are you doing here?" Ben tilted his head upward to get a look at the man's face. "I'm just looking around. I don't mean any harm." He smiled and crossed his arms. The man studied Ben for a minute and finally nodded. "Okay. You don't seem like a bad person." He grinned slightly. "My name is Montblanc Cricket." Ben chuckled at the man's introduction. "I'm Ben Dreyan, Captain of the Forte Pirates."
Disarming Strike 1/3
Cricket seemed to take some interest in Ben, now knowing that he was Captain of a pirate crew. "Captain, eh?" He chuckled and began to walk away. "Follow me. I'm going to teach you something." At first Ben gave a puzzled look, but soon did as Cricket asked and followed him. He was led somewhere near the forest, Ben didn't know where. Cricket turned to Ben, looking down to see his face. "I'm going to teach you a technique I call the Disarming Strike. I think you'll need it, being a Captain and all." Ben didn't exactly know what he was talking about, so he just nodded as a response. Cricket nodded himself and got into a fighting position. He then pulled out a dagger of sorts, but made no sign of hostility. "Now, what you do is..." Ben listed intently as to what Cricket had to say.
Disarming Strike 2/3
"You have to strike your opponent right here." He motioned to the wrist of the hand that was holding the dagger. "That would in turn disarm the opponent of their weapon. It might not always work, though, depending on how hard your target has their weapon held." Ben nodded in agreement and smiled. "Now try it!" Suddenly, Cricket lunged forward and brought the dagger down in a stabbing motion. Quickly Ben acted by getting into a fighting position. He then kicked Cricket's wrist, thereby disarming him of the dagger. Cricket grinned, seeing that Ben had successfully performed the technique with such ease. Ben simply chuckled, picking up the dagger and handing it to Cricket. "You pick things up really quickly, Ben." Ben simply chuckled and smiled. "Thanks!" Cricket then took another stance." Hit me as hard as you can." Ben didn't really care so he wound up and threw his hardest punch.

Masira jumped into action and took the punch himself, which sent him spiraling backwards, barely missing Cricket. Ben' eyes widened as his arm snapped back into place, knocking him onto the floor. He quickly realized that he had just punched Masira and that he might need help, so he got up and ran toward him. "Oi! Oi! Masira!" When he had reached Masira, Ben helped him up. "That's was my mistake! I'm so sorry! I was just so excited...And I wasn't thinking and- " Masira waved his hand and chuckled. "It's okay, it's okay. It didn't hurt that much!" He got up and dusted his clothes. He then began walking back towards the area near Cricket, Ben followed.
Selfless Guardian 1/6
Ben patted Masira on the back. "Again, sorry for that." He frowned for a few moments before smiling. "But that was pretty brave of you!" Masira laughed. "I guess. But it felt like instinct, you know? Protecting someone I care about. It doesn't need bravery. At least, I don't believe that it does." Ben nodded and smiled. He agreed completely with Masira. He felt a bit enlightened by his statement, as protecting things that he cared about was something Ben tried to do whenever he could. Masira broke the silence by laughing, then turning to Ben. A puzzled look appeared upon Ben' face. "What's so funny?" Masira smiled. "That was actual the second technique I was going to teach you."
Selfless Guardian 2/6
Masira nodded and crossed his arms. Ben was a bit curious, now that he had just learned a technique without even knowing it. "It's called being a Selfless Guardian." Ben listened to what he had to say. "You protect something precious to you, no matter what cost. Even if you take damage, even if you die." Ben kept a blank expression on his face. He knew exactly what he was talking about and could relate to what Masira was saying. "I think I know how that feels." Masira gave a curious look. "You think? Well, it should be a bit familiar to you, being a Captain and all." Ben nodded in agreement. "So how's that Crew of yours coming along?" He smiled and patiently waited for a reply. Ben looked to Masira with a bit of a concerned expression.
Selfless Guardian 3/6
"We were separated for about a year and regrouped just recently." Ben frowned a bit and turned away. It was a bit hard to think about the incident, but he had to endure. Then, a beyond-shocked expression covered Ben' face. He was speechless. Ben had forgotten to ask about the other members of the crew! He had only seen Willy, and just assumed that everyone else was on the ship. "I may have lost a few members, too." Masira turned his face and looked at Ben. "Aw, don't say that. You don't know for sure." He gave a smile of reassurance, which Ben accepted. "Yeah, but it's troubling me. I should ask my First Mate about the Crew when I see him again." Masira nodded, not knowing what else he could do.
Selfless Guardian 4/6
In an attempt to change the subject to a more happier one, Masira spoke. "Where are you heading after you're done here in Jaya?" Ben looked to Masira and smiled. "I don't really know. Wherever this thing takes me, I guess." He flashed the Log Pose that he had bought recently. Ben then looked at it for a moment, admiring its design. "I think I remember seeing one of those before." He smiled. "But good luck on your travels!" Ben smiled and thanked him. "Let's just hope that I don't get lost anywhere." Ben chuckled, thinking of just how big the Grand Line was. Despite that, Ben wanted adventure and nothing would stop that.
Selfless Guardian 5/6
Masira joined Ben in laughter. "I'm thinking that as long as you keep that Log Pose with you, you'll have a good path set for you." He nodded in agreement with himself. Ben chuckled and nodded as well. "Yeah, I think you're right." He tossed the Log Pose into the air and caught it. He then looked around and noticed that it was getting dark. "Well, I better get going now." Ben looked over to Cricket and chuckled. He was still asleep, even now after all the commotion. "And I think you better bring him inside and put him on his bed." He looked to Masira and smiled. Masira nodded and walked over to Cricket, carrying him over to the house. Ben waved and thanked him for teaching him. "I'll visit again sometime in the future! Arigato!" Masira entered the house with Cricket slung over his shoulder. Once more, Ben shoved his hands into his pocket, smiled, and walked away towards his next destination.

Rake walked up slowly to his table and ate with grace. He enjoyed good food and things like that should be eaten with restraints and respect for the chef. The taste and scent of the food was on the edge of perfection. Yet when things wasn't in the heat that Rake enjoyed he cheated a bit by heating the fork and then ate the food. It was a privilege of the Mera Mera no mi. Rake would of course use such as much as he needed. Yet it was very rare that he needed to do any mixtures like that. Kale was a very good chef and just to relax and eat your food was something great.

Rake sat at the table and had his hand on fire. He was looking into the flame and wondered one the mysteries that his new technique had. It was a indeed a hard technique to figure out. He needed a really good way to execute it and in a safe way. He needed to be able to control it to his fullest ability. Just setting his area of choice on fire. Then maybe he needed to learn how to stop a fire from spreading. Just in case he would ever set the ship on fire. Yet that he had to figure on later. Now was the time for this technique.
Mera Mera Inferno 4-20
Rake had found a good name for it at least, Inferno. For that was the plan with the entire thing and would indeed be worth the name when done. To be able to set anything on fire to suit his style of fighting. Maybe he could be able to trap people inside the fire. Yet as he knew that would not be able to work like that. No he would just set the world on fire for the time being. There was always room for more techniques later. Yet he knew that these big ones where great for he felt that he grew as a fighter whenever he was able to use a technique like this.
Mera Mera Inferno 5-20
Yet then he jumped up from his chair and walked to the side of the boat. He begun to climb the net that reached the highest point of the ship. That would be a good spot to think since they had no lookout. They truly needed a lookout but all in time. They where one of the strongest pirates even if now they where very scattered indeed. Yet Rake soon reached the top and sat down inside the area of the mast. Now he could be able to work on his technique as he had done before. He would create it small on his palm until he continued.
Mera Mera Inferno 6-20
He first created a burning candle light in the center of his palm and he looked at the magic of the fire. It really could capture the mind of a person. Because fire was beautiful indeed and one could think clear in the light of a burning candle. This was very much like that but nothing would stop him now. No, he would be able to learn and not just sit around and think. What could stop him any way? He was as close as being an immortal as any could ever be.
Mera Mera Inferno 7-20
He knew that being as he was, it was easy to let it go to his brain but Rake would not allow it to go that far. He needed his crew as any other man did. Rake was greatly thankful about his crew and that they where around him. They truly worked together to reach the goals of everyone. Yet while thinking of it, it was sad that they all split up and also that they had no real opponents to fight against. If they where the first out of the blues and into the Grandline, then who could stop them when they got back.

((Wait do Kale have a log pose..cause I don't... dam.))
No nothing was there in front of them, nothing that could possible stop them in their way. It was sad but true, it was truly sad to be one of the strongest. Maybe even the strongest swordsman. How did he reach such a level? What was his successions? Who had he taken down. How could he have reached such a level. The Forte hadn't been fighting the marines so much, no great wars or actions being dealt. It was sad when he thought of it. The sword was his partner and bound by life, but what had they done?
Mera Mera Inferno 9-20
No nothing at all and as it seemed he would reach as far if Rake kept thinking about all of this. Nothing would come on thinking on stupid stuff like this really. No he had to figure out his technique, yet he was stuck in his mind. If he only had someone to talk with or discuss things. Yet the others was busy and truth be told he had truly fallen behind. Rake had been full of relaxing and taking it easy that h had forgot to keep up with his crew. He knew that he was more of weight then a sail.
Mera Mera Inferno 10-20
Yet what could he do the others became so strong so bloody fast. He couldn't keep up, there wasn't enough time. The others learned so much from so many but why would he need to learn anything others then burning and fighting. He felt no need to learn how to use a gun or a net. What would that bring him in the end? He had to stop think like this. Yet he could not. He wanted to be as strong as the others but he felt that most techniques open to him would only dishonour him in battle.
Mera Mera Inferno 11-20
How could he be free from such thinking? How could he become stronger? There had to be a way to find out the truth about all of that. He needed to find the truth behind the sword and be able to be unbeatable. He had to become an immortal with the sword, with his fire and then it hit him. His fists, he could still learn how to fight. How to punch and how to kick. That would bring him no dishonour in battle with the swords. That would also be a way for him to battle the weakest ones.
Mera Mera Inferno 12-20
Yet now he needed to learn how to truly use this skill of his. He had been designing it in his mind and with one big leap he jumped into the air. Then he turned into a blazing inferno in the air. With that he landed on the ground beside the ship. "If you need me to set the oven on fire or anything heated I'll be outside Kale!" Rake shouted as he begun to walk away form the ship. Rake would need some space and it would be the safest way not to put the ship on fire.
Mera Mera Inferno 13-20
Now he just had to figure out a way to keep his fire burning even without him controlling it really. Now that was no big trick, because as soon as Rake's feet turning into a burning mass the grass around him was set on fire as well. Rake would need to set a big area on fire but he was not able to stretch as far. It was strange that it seemed as if he had no ability increase the area of fire more then approximately to 4 yards. It was quite hard indeed and Rake stopped his fire for a second.
Mera Mera Inferno 14-20
Rake watched his palm and created a small fire as base on it. Now he begun to spread the fire across the palm. What he could not see that it was several lines of fire that begun to spread across the palm. Yet why he couldn't see it because the rest of the palm naturally caught on fire along with them so it was hard for him to practise in such a way. It didn't give him the answers that he needed just as he had believed it wouldn't either. Now Was just the main question. How could he set the world on fire?

Things were indeed really coming together. He needed to be able to spread the fire out and then to set it all on fire. He knew basically how he would do it with style but it was indeed hard to control the fire. Even if it was just in the palm of his hand. Yet Rake knew that if he had been on the ship, Kale might have become mad at him. It seemed they where all grateful when he worked as spare wood to eat the kitchen or what ever but as soon as he got sometime playing on deck every one got mad.
Mera Mera Inferno 16-20
It was indeed quite annoying how it was, but Rake was no idiot and knew that if a fire where to spread on deck then he would be the blame and the ship might sink. With everyone more or less being a fruit user that was death for them. The ship needed to stay afloat no mater what. So now he was just standing there on the ground and having his palm on fire. Rake moved the fire around but as he moved one side the other followed. He needed to learn how to spread his fire.
Mera Mera Inferno 17-20
Time would come for this technique to shine but as it seemed now it was to hard even on a small scale. Yet if he wouldn't be able to master this then it would be no idea to follow up with the bigger version but he would not quit. No chance in hell that he would ever back down. He might be one of the strongest swordsmen but he would prove to the world that he was unbeatable. This would only be a way for him to win supremacy, to take any field into his and conquer everything in his path.
Mera Mera Inferno 18-20
With practise time and hard effort Rake was soon able to spread the fire across his palm but the form was a bit odd. It came as several lines across the palm and that was it. How could any one fear a great technique like that? No one could ever feel the need to use it. Yet there had to be a was and just as it came to his mind, Rake smiled. Soon the lines where moving as a circle around the palm and setting all on fire. The technique was done now and it was only the hard part of doing it for real.
Mera Mera Inferno 19-20
Now the truth would come for real to see how great it would be. Rake's feet was set on fire and soon the entire him. Then the lines flew across the ground. Far away they went and the sound of a burning fire begun to rise. Then the lines started to spin around and soon Rake was able to spin with great speed and the entire area was burning. Rake stood in the center of a inferno and life was good. This technique would be one of his ace cards in any battle. The easier the ground was set on fire the easier this would be.

Rake left the ship and begun to study the island. There was a decent great town but nothing really else. Rake knocked out a cocky pirate on the way through. He hated to be annoyed or bothered when he was walking in silence. Yet no one dared after the man had attacked Rake from behind but even so it didn't hurt Rake. He turned into fire where the knife had hit and it fell through his body. Ten he could leave the village with nothing bothering him. After some time walking he came to a funny looking house.
Disarming Strike 1-3
Outside that house was a man with a funny head. What in the world was that? Well who cared about it any way. It seemed as if this person was one who enjoyed their private life. Just as Rake was and he guessed that for even once one like him could take the disturbance. But as Rake came close he was told to leave the area. Rake got a bit ticked of that, how rude indeed. Not only that it disturbed his peace. Rake would not let that slide. He was not the happy friendly pirates.
Disarming Strike 2-3
Rake got his sword out and begun to move towards the man. Rake spoke about how one should not be rude to what could come and harm one in the end. Yet as Rake went for the cut but the blade was taken away. Then Rake nodded and the next attack from the man went though his body. After some moments the man agreed to teach Rake the move and so it happened how Rake learned the disarming strike. It also was the start of a hostile friendship. The man seemed angry and Rake was a bit mad as well.

Rake and the man spoke about things and then it came to his mind that he had seen such a head before. That it hadn't reached his thoughts before was quite odd, but that was the same head that the man in the bedtime story for kids. Something about a liar he was and a traveller at the same time. He couldn't really remember the time but if he kept thinking about it the name would appear in his mind again. Who wouldn't remember such a good bedtime story character and then name it for one who was so alike.
Selfless Guardian 1-6
Yet it seemed as if Rake and the man who was named Cricket, got a long on a thin line. Yet so it was between two men with some aspect being similar, but truth be told not much where similar between these two men. This man had friends closely and didn't seemed to be bothered by disturbing friends. Rake might have killed if he had nakama as the two apes this man talked about. Just hearing about how they where or what they did annoyed Rake a bit. Yet how could he help but be annoyed.
Selfless Guardian 2-6
Then it came to his mind. Montblanc was the name of the man in the story. Also he remembered that this was the island in the story book that was mentioned. It all made sense but what did a diver do here that looked so close to the man in the story 400 years ago? So Rake took the chance to ask about Montblanc and the story begun. Rake soon got t know why this man dived for gold on the bottom of the sea. It came a bit clear what this man did and why his friends had the same goal as well.
Selfless Guardian 3-6
Yet it was still quite fun to meet the ancestor of a story he had heard many times when he was just a child. Yet this Cricket didn't seem to share such an enthusiasm as Rake did. It was more seen as a bother to this man. Who could blame him in the end, his family was marked liar by a king. Yet Rake knew very well what as true and so did this man for someone had shown him the truth about the sky. That was good for this man to prove his family was not liars.
Selfless Guardian 4-6
But that was still a good story and couldn't be the same of the king had found the gold and the villages slaughtered. This seem to send the conversation over the edge and hell brook loose. The man took a swing at Rake and Rake retaliated. Soon both stood outside and Rake had his sword drawn. He swung at the man and this time evaded the disarming strike but then something happened. A big ape took the blow and it was amazing how long this ape could hold Rake.
Selfless Guardian 5-6
Rake stopped his attack and notice that this ape was the one Montblanc Cricket had been talking about so long. Rake didn't say that he was sorry but did stop his attacks. By that he was soon taught how to save someone dear to you with all your strength and even a bit more. A power from within. It was something good to know but he hoped he would never need to use it. Yet with it he would be able to go a bit longer just to save that one. Most likely to be Kale form his crew but that would be a dream. "I'm back Kale!" He said as he climbed on board.

Rake knew what could be cool to use in a fight when two swords locked at each other. His mouth was a great weapon with his ability. If he could be able to breath fire as a heat dial, it would be awesome. Who would see it coming and fire did very great damage if it stuck on the clothes. He would just think of a way to do it. yet first it would be time to rest a bit on the deck. Rake walked up to his usual corner and leaned towards the cabin wall. Then he slowly and gentle lowered his butt to the deck.
Mera Mera Fire Breath 1-6
How would he be able to breath fire with a great effect. It most likely had to be with his lungs. Yet how could that be? Rake looked around and didn't notice Kale around. Great was it indeed for now he wouldn't need to move around and there was no sail to be set on fire. Rake turned his lungs into fire and soon smoke came out of his mouth. With a deep breath, well it just stroke him that the deep breath was hard to get. Not to mention to get the wind out. When on fire his breath was taken by the fire.
Mera Mera Fire Breath 2-6
Well he could breath it was just a different way really. So Rake turned his lungs back to normal and knew that he needed to force of his lungs as normal and had to find a new spot. The next obvious choice was the throat and it was just as easy to set on fire. Now there truly wasn't much to about things like that. He was now able to turn almost everything into fire and hold it on fire. Nothing could really stop him now. His training had given him great control of the flames.
Mera Mera Fire Breath 3-6
What he would do now could be a great way to fight in the future. Later he could play with his swords that he just bought. Not to mention the log pose which would make Kale and him able to travel with the ship. They could leave this ship and rendezvous with the captain sooner then he could believe. Maybe he was living in his little dream world, but who cares. In his mind there was only him, his swords and his fire. Speaking of fire, where was he now again.
Mera Mera Fire Breath 4-6
Okay time to practise again. With the throat on fire, smoke once again rose from Rake's mouth. Well this time it also came from the nose. Yet it kind of backfired. When Rake breathed in and out only smoke came out. This was bloody annoying and he was more or less running out of time where he could practise on deck. It was something calm and relaxing training on the deck, his home. Yet when an angry chef, who was able to kick him down, was walking around it was a game of dare.
Mera Mera Fire Breath 5-6
Then it came to him, he just needed to heat the air in his lungs and then send out the inferno. The tongue would be the best thing of course. Rake set it on fire and took a deep breath. Then with all that he blew out a great fire. Like those fire eater but this was no trick. Rake blew out another breath of fire. It was kind of fun to do but then he realized what he done. "Oh Crap!" The mast was setting on fire. This was most likely one of the reason he was not suppose to do this on board. Well none had actually told him straight to the face, because he had never been taken. yet his mind was kind of set of what the other might think. Rake stood up and clapped out the fire and then leaned towards it, just in case.

Rake knew that he had great techniques for fighting one on one but time would come when the marines would surround him properly and then h would be in problems. Of course Mera Mera Extension was a good skill and would prove useful because of his ability to move within the fire. Yet he needed somethign more directly crafted to fight for then one opponent. His sword style worked on that way. It was long and effective and he could spin around with it. That was the key.
Mera Mera Spin 1-5
All that Rake had to do was to sue a spinning move and combine it with another. Yet would that truly be the answer, it seemed a bit to easy. Yet Rake took time and activated the Mera Mera Fire breath as he spun around. It was to hard to aim though and the spinning made everything more difficult to get an even attack out. Heat fist wouldn't work wither for it was just as a fire canon shooting a great amount of fire from his hand. Now he needed something more effective.
Mera Mera Spin 2-5
Now he knew exactly what he had to do. He would turn himself into a deadly spinning fountain of fire. He would use his hands as base and work as a double flame thrower. From there would he just continue to spin until everything around him was on fire. Just like Mera Mera Inferno but far more easier to control and use against enemies. Not to mention how much faster this sort of technique would actually work. This would be an instant spinning attack to knock out greater amount of opponents.
Mera Mera Spin 3-5
Rake knew that in the end only a fool would attack him or any one he enjoyed. He would truly fight bravely and effective for the Forte pirates. He was their swordsman after all. At time being he would enjoy the silence of the Jaya forest. While thinking on his new technique, Rake entered the forest and took a deep breath. Others had talked about great animal attacks but he couldn't say that he truly he faced any problems so far. Stories was just stories to scare new and naive people.
Mera Mera Spin 4-5
Yet as it seemed it wasn't just empty talk. A strange bird flew over and noticed him. Then it came. Several huge maggots approached and crawled towards Rake. This was annoying like hell so Rake decided to attack the crawling bastards. "MERA MERA SPIN!" Rake spun around and his hands turned into flame throwers and soon all maggots was set on fire. This was a great win for Rake indeed. He grew in strength with his ability, yet in the same time he set the forest on fire.

This was definitely not a good thing, it was really bad and Rake couldn't blame it on any one. One tree was on fire ad Rake tried to beat out the fire but nothing seemed to work. After all it had eaten up a great amount of the tree and begun to start on the next tree. Now to have a water fruit might have been a great thing but that would not be an issue here. Now he was the logia Mera Mera no mi and he had to find a way out of this mess. Now fire wouldn't hurt him but if it spread towards the village.

The town was in trouble, or might be in trouble. Yet any how Rake had to find a way to take out this fire quickly before it grew to strong. He was to far away to get any help so he would need to do it on his own. Rake put his hands on the fire and tried to suck it in but it was a failure. By setting his hand on fire he just increased the fire on the burning tree. This was really placing pressure on him. He didn't want to be the one who burned down Jaya. Even if he was a pirate, it didn't suit him.

Yet Rake's only hope was if he could suck up fire as well as use it. He needed to think backwards in a way to figure this out. During the time that Rake's mind was working on a solution, the fire grew much stronger. It Ate happily through the burning three and just kept digging in the fresh glorious wood. It was on it's way to jump to the next tree but that tree needed to dry up a bit before the fire could continue. Yet it didn't take long for the fire to spread to the second and then third tree.

The fire increase it's number by four burning trees and Rake was still thinking. This proved to be harder then Rake had guessed. He had to figure out a completely new way to use his ability with the fruit. This was indeed the hardest way to use a fruit. Rake begun to test several tactics but each one of them just increased the power of the flaming trees. The entire scene was truly working it's way up to a nice little forest fire. Yet Rake had not given up yet. He had a few more aces up his sleeve.

His more or less final attempt before he would leave to find help. Rake both hands turned into fire and he placed them into the fire and begun to concentrate on sucking in the fire. He looked to the sky and it worked. The fire was slowly increasing it's area of effect and within a minute the fire was out. Thanks to Rake the fire arrived and thanks to that he learned a way to kill any burning fire with his own fruit. This was a good day and time to get back to the ship.
