Krissie was the first one to answer the scratching at the door, she looked down to see Kass first, she didn't know what was going on just yet, "What is it Kass?" She looked up to see Caiden laying on the ground and she let out a gasp and was over at Caiden's side before anyone could blink.
Darin had noticed the commotion and had come rushing over at Kass's word, followed by the girls. There was a huge squabble now, the girls were upset and Darin was now doing everything he could to keep them calm.
Krissie examined Caiden a little more before she finally slid her arms under him and hauled him up, "KATIE!" The serpents and foxes were keeping out of the way rather wisely, it was the dusts that were causing most of the problems as Krissie was trying to move now, knowing exactly where to go.
Darin finally roared above the noise the girls were making, quieting everyone down and surprising even Krissie. Darin turned to Barras rather abruptly, "Barras! Keep everyone calm and together, I'm following father!" With this, Darin turned and ran after Krissie, who was having a bit of trouble holding up Caiden without hurting him further.

Katie rushed out the door at Krissie’s shout, letting out a gasp as she saw Caiden. She jogs to catch up with her friend and Darin, worry in her eyes as she speaks, “Krissie, what happened to him?” Almost immediately afterward, she added, “Do you need help carrying him?”
Barras had agreed with his brother before Darin left, looking over at all the girls and giving them a weak grin. “Don’t worry everyone, I’m sure dad will be okay... The girls will make sure of it.” After a moment of looking around, blinking in surprise as he noticed they were missing someone. “Where is Toril?”
“She’s on the roof,” growled his mother, glaring up at the roof of their home. Toril was just within sight of the group, flinching as Vellir’s gaze found her and she backed up some more. The other girls were a little shocked at the sight. After a moment, Brighid spoke softly, “But... She didn’t seem that violent...”
“Looks can be deceiving, I guess,” Vellir growled again, her feathers ruffled. What she said was probably a little harsh, but the father of her children had fallen off the bloody roof. She was less than happy about that. “Bloody Demon...”
“Hey! Don’t say that about her!” Kass cried out, glaring at Vellir and taking a step forward. Barras stepped between the younger Dustling and his mother, giving Kass a pleading look. Kass sighed, then looked up to the roof and sighed, thinking of the older girl, his friend. “We don’t know what happened...”

Katie was panting by the time she returned to the house, having run all the way home. As she approached the back porch, she found that most of her and Krissie’s Dustlings were where they’d left them, though Kass and Vellir seemed to have disappeared. Most seemed to be on edge, especially Barras, whom kept pacing along the edge of the house, staring upwards and chirping.
Noticing that most of the Dustlings were looking upward, Katie glancing towards the roof too. She grimaced as she spotted the two pets and Toril, Kass between the golden female and the Demon. Vellir looked unusually agitated as she paced back and forth in front of Kass and Toril, and Toril was curled up and quivering. Despite not having the Demon in her possession for very long, Katie didn’t believe that Toril was one to cower before another Dustling. Damn it... Please don’t let there be a fight... I need to find Caiden’s horn, I can’t stay to break it up... Take care of things, Kass.
“Barras! I need your help boy!” Katie called to the yellow and purple Dustling. His head jerked to his owner, then back to the roof, obviously concerned at what was going on between his mother and house mates. With obvious reluctance, he trotted over to his owner and gave her a pleading look. Katie sighed and said, “I’m sorry boy... I can’t help right now. Part of Caiden’s horn broke off when he fell, and I need to find it before it turns to dust...”
The Dustlings’ eyes went wide at what the human said, and he started chirping to the others. Katie guessed that Caiden in a bad mood wasn’t something they needed on top of the current chaos. Barras immediately went searching around the area where his father fell, along with Brighid. Katie gave one more glance to the three Dustlings on the roof before going to join the search...
Things weren’t very pleasant on the roof. Kass had put himself in the delicate position of keeping Vellir from pouncing on his friend. Toril wasn’t acting normal at all- when he’d flown up onto the roof to protect her from Vellir, she had gotten herself huddled into a ball and was muttering over and over, “I don’t know what happened that wasn’t me, why is this happening?”
Vellir wasn’t helping the situation. “Kass... Get out of the way,” Vellir hissed, more than a little angry at the Demonic female. “Toril pushed Caiden off the roof. She needs to fess up to what she did and accept the consequences of her actions.”
“Please calm down, Vellir. I know you care about Caiden a lot, but you need to think about what you’re saying! This isn’t like you at all!” Kass called to her, trying to get the lovely winged female to come to her senses. He noticed that Barras had stopped calling for them to get down from the roof. Kass might have looked to check what was happening, but feared that Vellir might take the opportunity to get at Toril. To himself, he thought, God let Caiden be alright, and let Toril snap out of this... I’m not cut out for this mediator thing... Please Toril, snap out of it, you’re scaring me.

Aletta had made her way home and was still shaken badly from the ecounter with Octavian. She hadn't said a word to any of the others when she had returned. She was an emotional and physical wreck. She spend hours grooming herself, making sure her fur and feathers, which she had lost some of, were looking better before she simply laid down in her human's room, alone, and cried. She had never been more scared and confused.
You should seek him out... to let him know that everything's okay... But everything was not okay. It was far from okay. She'd be forbiden from seeing that male again if her father or the others found out, because they'd eventually tell him. He was too dangerous and Caiden wouldn't let her leave again if she's be getting in trouble like that.
But you're an adult... you can take care of yourself...
No you can't... you called for your parents when you were in trouble...
She covered her head with her paw and sobbed. Why was she so weak? NO! She wasn't weak... as long as she had the clan to back her up... She sighed and snuggled down into the comforter on the bed, the room was dark and her human had the insight to isolate her from the others for a while.
What is she going to do...?

Special arrangements had been made for Caiden to be taken home, because it was hard for him to walk and Krissie wasn't going to carrying him again. But sure enough they returned home and all the other dustlings went into an uproar over his return. They were happy to see him
But Krissie didn't stop to let Caiden socialize, she got him inside and set him down on a big pile of warmed blankets and pillows to cushion his ribs. Caiden was greatful for this. He sighed and sunk down into the cushions. He needed rest, it's been stressful.

Vellir, who had arrived home a few hours before Caiden, and had spent the majority of the time preening herself to make herself look nice for him, had slipped in after Krissie before the door was shut. She waited patiently until the human had made sure Caiden was comfortable and had left the room before walking in quietly.
Oh... Poor thing, Vellir thought as she looked at him again, better now that Krissie wasn't trying to get him into the house. He was pretty well bandaged, and it looked like the Professor had done an excellent job of reattaching his horn. You couldn't tell it hadn't broken off, and Vellir wouldn't bring it up in case he didn't even know. She felt a little flare of anger at Toril for doing this, but it quickly went away as she remembered how pitiful the Demonic had been since it happened.
The golden dustling smiled and moved closer, standing before him. "Hello, love. I just came to see how you were... It's wonderful to have you home." She bowed her head respectfully, smiling gently, and asked "Is there anything I could get you, or should I leave you to get some rest?"

Caiden looked up at the winged dustling and smiled, "Oh gods Vellir, I missed you." He was genuinely happy to see her and he stretched out on the blankets with a contented sigh. He was injured but he knew his human would treat him even better than usual.
"No, love, I'm fine for now. Thank you though. You can lay with me a while. Tell me, how have things been in my absence?"

Vellir returns Caiden's smile and steps onto the blankets, settling herself next to him. Not to close, as she was worried she might accidentally hurt him. She did lean over to brush her beak against his neck and said softly, "I missed you too. We all have. You have no idea how chaotic this place gets in your absence."
She chuckles softly and brings her head to rest on her forepaws, her wings tucked against her sides. "Well, we're grandparents now. Aletta has had children... Your grandson just poked his head out of the dust the other day. He looks good deal like our girl."
The female squinted her eyes, wondering whether or not she should tell him some of the other things. He needed to rest, and telling him about all the problems would only cause him more stress... If he asks, I will tell him. If he doesn't, I will just let him be in peace for the moment.

Caiden smiled as he laid his head down on the blankets and chuckled softly, "Another son. I'm sure Darin and Barras will be glad for him." What he meant by that was that his sons were basically the police force of the clan. It was large enough that Caiden recognized that even he himself could not control everything all the time so his sons helped.
Krissie was running around though now with a phone to her ear and papers in her hand. Only Katie knew of it, but the human was busy putting together a plan to get a barn of sorts built for the pets of this house. The house itself was getting too small all of them so a larger building would be good. And they wouldn't have to worry so much about making sure everyone was there. Going up and down the strairs counting and recounting heads.
