i heard jared leto's playing chapman in the movie. (i'm not quite sure...)
if it's true, i think i just lost a ton of respect for him...

Yeah, he is.

yeah, i just found out a while ago...what would make him want to play that role???probably the money....thats all people care about today...

I wouldn't take a role like that for all the money in the world. But hey, that's me. But, I despise him now pretty much. And the moron who decided to make this movie. Who IS directing it anyway?

I would hesitate to say he's a bad person just because he agrees to play Mark Chapman. I mean, look at it this way: What if they made a film about the Holocaust? Would you condemn the actor who played Hitler?

To an actor, acting is an art. The less likeable the character is, the more of a challenge it will be to play him. Sure, maybe he hates John Lennon and just wants to play the b*****d who murdered him, but wouldn't it be better to assume the best?

If actors only accepted to play people who agreed with their personal moral principles, how boring the movie-making industry would be! Not to mention there would never be any villains, or historically-based movies.

I suppose so....but somehow that seems different to me......I suppose it's not Leto that I'm really mad at. It's really more the director and the person who thought "oh wow! Let's grant this b*****d's wish of being famous and make it into a movie! BRILLIANT!"

I hope they dont make alot of money on it. They could've made a Napoleon Dynamite 2 and they would've made the same amout of money! And they're giving Chapman what he wants, and that is what is wrong.

yeah, he wanted to get fame for this, and now he is...

I think I've said this before, perhaps in a more round-about way than I should have, but I believe that educating people is more important than worrying about fulfilling some nutjob's dream. Isn't it possible that the director saw the ignorance around him and decided it would be a good idea to change something?

I don't think that Chapman is getting more fame out of this than he did when Yoko testified against him about a year back (something along the lines of she would be afraid if he were to walk out.) Yes, if his story is publicized more then more crazies will follow him, but more will also know about him. It's sort of like Columbine, there are the nuts who believe in what the two kids did, but since it has been so publicized a lot of people have drawn parallels from it and tried to better society.

I don't want to see the death of my hero. <3

Signed a petition against it, I did. And I haven't heard much about the movie lately, so I thought people forgot about it...
I guess not, then?.. gonk

Can't stand it, I don't know how anyone can watch a movie about John's death without crying your eyes out. gonk

This is total BS!! People need to start thinking up better topics for movies, rather than depressing topics like this (or remaking old classics.) scream

3nodding I swear, if I go to the movies and see a trailer for it or something, I'm going to completely lose it right there. I signed a petition too...but I don't really know how well those things work. I hear a blurb about it when I see an article about Lohan, they usually jam in at the end "she is currently filming Chapter 27, which is about John Lennon's killer."

Yes, I've singed a petition. But those things never work.. Anyways.

So this movie used to make me mad.
But now it doesn't, when I think about it..

Mark Chapman is going to be in jail for the rest of his life. He get's death threats every day...I doubt he's all excited right now because of this movie. -.-

And I kinda want to see it. Even if I'm going to like kill myself during the movie. I kind of want to see how it is...
And Yoko seems to have no problem with it...

The only thing I don't like is the Lindsay Lohan part.
John = Love. <3.

That annoys me that they're filiming there, even though Yoko said no.

I hate Lindsay Lohan.

I might go see it, just to see how it is, but I'll probably cry.

Actually, Sean and Yoko are pretty upset. Which is weird, becuase Sean actually used to date Lohan. (Believe me, I about crapped myself when I heard that the first time.) Apparently he begged her not to be in it, but she ignored him. Jee. Great friend.
