battosai matt Officer Hot-Pants battosai matt Officer Hot-Pants battosai matt Whys that? Is DQ7 really that great? I mean I like the few Dragon Quest games I've played, but is it really? I've only played 3 DQ games so I might just be missing something. Well, it starts out on a tiny island. That island is the only island in the world. Well, while invesigating some old ruins, you put this tablet depicting another island back together, and promptly get sucked in. This island is currently beset by demons, and your characters feel compelled to help them. After slaying the demons, you're able to return home. Upon returning home, everybody's excited about a "new land" that just suddenly appeared to the north. When you go there, it's the island fromt form the tablet. Turns out, you prevented that island from being destroyed in the past, so now it's still around in the future. Far as they know, they've always been here, and they think it's awefully strange that your people managed to just completely miss them (seeing as you can see one from the other). That sets off the story, with you going around saving islands--and sometimes whole continents--from destruction in the past. I won't spoil the big, over-arching story for you (like WHY the demons were destroying the world piece by piece), but it's pretty good. The class-system (eventually) gives you the ability to make any character into pretty much any kind of fighter. Does sound interesting but not like anywhere sells it anymore. I could try Ebay but who knows if it'd even be in working condition. I bought two copies, and both had problems: the first copy, disc 01 cracked in half. Still don't know what happened, but I opened it up one day and noticed that there was long, straight break in it. Second copy I bought, disc 01 got a nice, tiny scratch that screws the game up about 20 minutes before the disc-change. Fun. Oh its one of those games. Like Resident Evil 2 or Metal Gear Solid with the whole disc swicthing thing. So you can't even play it anymore? Unfortunately. I would just play my old file, but there's nothing left to do on it.

Well, specifically I never trusted sites like ebay, amazon and such; I'd buy it from Square-Enix or Sony in a heartbeat.

I don't feel comfortable buying a game from a garage sale. I'll buy a pre-owned game from GameStop or some other place because I know that if it doesn't work I can bring it back and get my money back. I did buy a game from Ebay once it did work and still does.

If a garage sale game doesn't work, I'm only out some $10.

However all of the Borders around me closed, theres still a Barnes and Nobles, but they don't have the serise. So I don't have much of a choice but to order it off Amazon. Although it does take quite awhile for it to arrive, sometimes even months, the books are in good condtion. I"ve gotten games from garage sales and they work. Its just that theres nothing I can really do about it. I could sell it but then I'd feel like a jerk for selling a game I know is broken.

However if it's missing a CD-Key or something, then just sell it to someone who can bypass it (which is a surprising number of people).

When you're installing a game, and it requires you to put in a unique ID (included in the box) to complete the process. Games like Starcraft and Command and Conquer use 'em. It's mostly a PC thing.
