"Hurray! Off to Viridian we go!" Aku shouted, caught up in the good vibes. He started marching towards the path that would take them to Viridian City. "It's this way!!!" He said laughing. Emiri laughed contently as Aku took the lead, marching.
The sun was now about late morning high, for it wasn't quite noon yet. The air was warm and crisp and the breezes were cool and calming, carrying the few, but large, pure white clouds with it as they swept over the landscape. Right then felt unusually full of content, knowing that soon she would be a full pokemon trainer.
Emiri took one final look at her home, some of the pokemon still bidding her their goodbyes. She waved, then turned to follow Aku, not only to the path to Viridian City, but towards a new life and beginning.

"I mentioned that I wanted to be a breeder.. that's what my father was my Girafarig was his.." He told her. Emiri thought at this, it got to her. She hadn't thought about anything specific to do, just plain and simple that she knew she wanted to be a trainer.
"I don't really know," she said bluntly, in a kind of happily confused tone. "I've studied so much for so long, battle strategies, pokemon behavior and such, contest rules and combonations," she said. "I'll just go along with whatever comes my way," she said finally.

"My goal is to collect the gym badges.. then I want to be the best breeder. I want to train with Squirtle to achieve that goal." He told her. "Squirtle is one of my favorite species of pokemon.. I admire the strength and adorableness of their species." He was telling her, rambling on as usual. Emiri listened, sort of, as a flock of Pidgeotto caught her eye, flying overhead.
"I can see that," she said, agreeing with Aku's statement about Squirtle. She snapped back to reality, briefly.
"I chose Charmander, because I've always loved flying," she said, as she continued to look up at the Pidgeotto, almost daydreaming.
"Those two Pidgeot that I told you about. We were really close, almost as close as Bulbasaur and I, and they used to take me flying all the time. It was so alluring just to be up there in the silence, but being able to hear everything at the same time. They loved taking me up with them on their backs. I'd do that all the time," she said, looking up at the sky.
"I love flying," she finished, still holding Charmander gently in her arms.

"Flying huh..." He said, thinking and looking up to the sky. "Eh... I suppose it could be fun.. I never tried it though." He said. "Let's rest here and have some lunch." He pointed to a small clearing on the side of the path. "Looks safe enough." Emiri, still looking up at the sky, snapped back to attention as Aku suggested stopping for lunch. Emiri looked down at the contentment that was Charmander in her arms. Charmander looked up with a sweet little smile as Emiri stopped where Aku had pointed.
"Lunch sounds good," she said walking towards a tree in the clearing. "I think we've made a substantial distance, and we're in no rush either," she said, looking up at the tree.

"I agree." He said as he let Squirtle off his back. He pulled off his backpack. "We should enjoy some of the sights along the way, I mean who knows when we'll be here again?" He pulled out some lunch supplies for sandwiches and some pokefood. "This should be good." He said, "My father made it and taught me how to." Emiri sat, putting Charmander on the ground next to her, and took her backpack off as well, under the tree across from Aku. She took out a sheet from her bag, and set it on the ground in front of them to put the food on.
"You're right. It is a perfect day for traveling," Emiri said, agreeing with Aku as she took out a bag of home made poffins and sandwiches, and Bulbasaur's pokeball. She set out the food as she pressed the button to open the pokeball.
Bulbasaur came out with a smile on his face, and a glint in his eye, as he ran into Emiri's lap. She laughed. She picked up Bulbasaur and sat him next to Charmander, and they began to talk, as much as Charmander would allow being so seclusive.

He told her, trying to get a feeling on what she liked. "I can't say really," she said, thinking about it. "All types and species have something unique to offer. It would be hard to choose just one," she said, feeding Charmander and Bulbasaur some of her poffins.
"That's why I'll be looking forward to seeing all the different kinds of pokemon I can. I'll be able to apply my studies to more than just the pokemon on my ranch," she said enthusiastically.

"That is the answer most give I think. Most beginning trainers say that but look at the elite four, they only have one type." He said, nodding his head in agreement. "I know this area, we're close to Viridian, it's only like over that hill." He said happily. Emiri looked at him.
"Every type and species has something special to offer. It would be closed minded to focus on one type alone," she said defensively.
Over their conversation, Emiri had eaten her fill in food, and was full enough that would suffice for the rest of the day. Bulbasaur and Charmander had eaten their fill as well, and were both content together. Charmander had begun to open up a little more as she and Bulbasaur began to talk more.
"Oh, how wonderful," Emiri said, switching gears again, in a happy mood once more. "I've always wanted to see a big city," Emiri said as she began to pack her things.

"Big cities are wonderful, I've been to Viridian once when I was younger my mom needed something from a shop. I just love these places." He said, after he packed up. He let Squirtle back up onto his back and walked the short way up the hill. "Yeah!! It's right there, Race you!!!" He said, running down towards the Viridian City gates. Aku moved to Viridian city.
