A bit of a power trip blaugh Also, in order to have a successful, active, "big" guild, you definitely have to commit time & energy to it, & take it seriously [but not too seriously]. It's definitely a commitment. A [mostly] fun commitment, but a commitment nonetheless.
I really love being the captain of Burn. If I didn't own my own guild, I probably would have stopped logging on to Gaia a long time ago because I wouldn't know what to do 'round here.

Well, the vague desire to create my own guild existed for way, way too long... I think I wanted my own guild for approx. 5 or 6 months [spread out over approx. two years, during which I wasn't active on Gaia for a huge chunk of time]. However, I only knew I wanted my own guild. Once I decided what to call it & what it would be like, it was up & running about a week later. Of course, it's grown & developed a whole lot since then.


Primarily because I wanted my own guild, but had no idea what kind of guild I wanted.
What really drew me to running this guild, aside from that I'd be the boss, was that the whole twisted concept behind this guild & so many aspects of this guild itself really were injected with a lot more of "my personality" then I feel most guilds have ever entailed. From the tongue-in-cheek guild description on the homepage to the enigmatic name "Burn" that has essentially no rhyme or reason behind it that I'm able to communicate, this guild originally was a lot more "alternative" & "quirky" because it was much more personal, & what guild would I rather be in than one that reflects all sorts of elements of me?



Same as above... basically I mainly wanted my own guild. I had been a Mod for a few guilds & the Vice Captain for two, & I was always frusterated by the fact that I put so much time & effort into guilds in which I did not have the "final say". I really wanted to be the boss blaugh But why I created this guild, & not a different guild, was because I had no idea what kind of guild to make. I was the Vice Captain of two charity guilds towards the beginning of my time on Gaia, & have always been really big into donating on Gaia [I was able to master exchanging & vending effortlessly when I first started on Gaia, & I made a lot of gold in a really short period of time], so part of me was really inclined to start a charity guild. Then another part of me wanted to create a guild that was much more unique & mirrored who I am in real life a lot more; a guild that was really about the person "behind the pixels" in much larger & more personal ways than I'd seen anywhere else on Gaia before. This guild began with a guild description written out totally stream-of-conciousness that's very similar to the description that's still on the homepage today. I decided this guild would incorporate both of the above ideas, & in a way be a twisted contradiction of itself. From there, making it an "everything guild" seemed like the next natural move. The only active Gaian who I could think of that I wanted to help me build Burn was Oxymoronic Genocide. I remember right before I made Burn, which was the in Sept. 2008, I PMed Oxy & said that I was thinking of making my own guild, & would he be my Vice Captain if I did. I'm not sure why I chose Oxy; I didn't know him very well at all before Burn, but either way, Burn wouldn't be Burn without Oxy. He replied to my PM telling me that of course he'd be crew & that he'd be by my side as long as this guild existed, & he's definitely come through on that!

I get along with everyone I talk to. I find respect to be a huge thing. I treat people the way I want to be treated, and they treat me with the respect that they think I deserve. Pretty simple right? I was bullied for years, every guild I join, I make sure they know that, mainly cause I think it helps people understand where I'm coming from when I say something, or jump in to help break up a fight. Some people may think that being bullied would make me uptight, always worrying about what people say. But to me, it's helped me, I help people out, I stick up for people that I have no clue who they are. If they are getting bullied, or anything, I jump in. I don't tolerate bullying, or anything like that. I can tell the difference froma joke, and a insult. When I break up fights (internet fights.. not real ones, whenever I say fights, I generally mean in a guild or such.. some in real though..) sometimes people will say that it was a joke. Well, it's not a joke if you hurt someone now is it? there are opinions, and then there are comments directed right at certain people.
