He caught her that time, she said she didn't know anything about pirates, and yet she just contradicted herself. A merchant daughter not knowing about pirates from eavesdropping on stories of their trouble or hearing from a father’s rants, beyond unlikely

The second thing she said that told him she wasn't worth bringing on the ship was that she believed in self-preservation. Sure, he wasn't one to throw away his own life to safe another on his ship. However, he did believe in watching out for your crewmates and them you, "So, do you even understand protecting your crewmates and staying alive?"

Now her last words were amusing, who did she think she was, God? "Okay, Ulysses." He gave her the name of the character from Homer's story of the Odyssey. Of the man who could shoot an arrow though tiny holes to a target when no one else could. "So, now if you’re done fibbing, why not just show me what you can actually do, then I'll let you meet the captain. Be smart, Ulysses. He isn't like me."

He wasn't going to tell him what his captain was, just yet.

The dragon-kin female's comment reminded him, he really was not happy with the captain. If he was lucky, and was able to corner the captain and get the permission to speak his mind, he was so going to give the dragon kin a piece of his mind for that!

Whoops. So she'd lied a little. And exagerrated. A little. Well, maybe quite a bit. But one had to prove themselves, didn't they?

"If my crewmates are worth their salt, they can protect themselves. I'm all for loyalthy, but if it comes between my skin and theirs, I'd rather save my own. I'm not one to indulge in the superstition known as religion and believe in an afterlife. We die, and that's the end of that." Elizabeth snorted, her contempt for religion clearly showing thorugh. "Loyalty is a fine thing to have, if you deserve it. So now let me ask you something. Does your captain deserve my loyalty?" If only she knew that this Tracey, whose name she had not yet learned, had conflicting feelings about his captain...

"Ulysses? How apt." Elizabeth grinned. Despite the fact this man was irked at her, though he hid it well, she was amused. Men amused her to no end- they had no patience for anything, and thought themselves so clever! "Come outside then, and I'll pick a target."

Picking up her bow and breezing out the door, Elizabeth eyed the tavern and surrounding area. There was nothing really suitable... Though she could always William Tell the whole process. Picking up the remains of a glass, she weighed it in her hand. "My friend," she said to the general air, not even bothering to see if Tracey had followed, "Put this on your head."

When she asked about loyalty with his Captain, he really had issues with an answer. The Captain put him to the fire without even warning him, how can he be loyal to one that can't even give a guy a little warning? So, he answered the best he could, "I am loyal because he is giving me away off this island, further loyalty has yet to be earned. It works both ways, however." Granted he didn't want to get another dragon-kin angry, especially one that had his sister and the woman he was begin to care very strongly for on his ship. However, the Captain owed him, and he owed him big time for that dirty move!

He followed her, but when she told him to put anything on his head, he was quick to tell her, "We are testing your ability, not my nerves. I will not, you show me what you can do without putting my own life in danger. Loyalty and trust must both be earned if you do not owe it and I do not owe you." She was blooming nuts.

"Loyalty is a two way street," Elizabeth intoned. It was a lesson forced into her head at an early age, one of the small proverbs she had had to learn as a child, though it was an odd one. Children were expected to be loyal to their parents, yet their parents did not have such bonds... But now was not the time to puzzle out childhood and its many mysteries.

"Your choice." Elizabeth shrugged, though the blood lust died down in her eyes. This man was taking away all her fun! Picking up the mug, she carefully placed it a distance away from the tavern, on a tree stump. Picking up her bow, she drew back, relaxing, tightening her back muscles... and let fly.

The arrow did hit the glass, though not perfectly on center. She was far enough away though to let it slip, though she mentally scolded herself. It had been far too long since she had had a proper target to focus on. This was inexcusable. Elizabeth expected perfection from herself at the one thing she found she had a talent for... even if she was a bit 'blooming nut's. "Well, it's not my best shot, but I hit the mark."

Heh, she wasn't good enough, a man who lost his arm can still fight. Hit the heart or head or nothing at all. It bothered him, how could she learn to get better on a ship? Well, it rolls and that might acutally provide her with better training. He was very glad that mug was not on his head. "You'll need a lot of work to be any real boon in a ship battle. That alone doesn't disquilify you."

Now for the final question, he wasn't his captain and he wasn't going to send the girl into something she didn't have any clue about. "What do you know about the Dragon-kin?"

"I'm rusty. Once I get back into shape, I'll be fine." Again Elizabeth shrugged. It seemed to be a gesture she was particularly fond of.

"Dragon-kin?" Elizabeth pondered for a moment. What an odd question! "I don't really know much about them. I think a few of the merchants and buys my father had dealt with may have been dragon-kin, but I don't know. They don't bother me, if that's what you mean. Long as they don't eat virgins." That same wicked grin flashed across Elizabeth's face. "I'd like to meet one personally, talk with it. I wonder what life is like for them. Too many have silly prejudices regarding people who aren't of our race. Pah."

Tolerance was another lesson Elizabeth had learned at a young age, and she quite liked that one.

Tracey remarks, not grinning but in his mind he was, "Oh, good then. Here is you last task in order to meet the Captain and ask to join the ship. The ship is called, Aurarius and is docked in that direction." He said pointing the way he had come, a pretty straight shot really. "Head down to the beach and its the ship that is not actually docked at the dock. You'll have to swim out and climb the ropes."

He was sure that task alone would knock her out of the running for sure, and would have been amusing to watch if he did not have others to interview. Hopefully others did not remind him of how much he doubted his Captain at the moment. "If you make it, the captain's name is Captain Aiden. He looks like a captain, so it won't be hard to spot him. A few tips, show respect, and make sure let him know what you can do for him. Also, show respect." He'd have to ask Tia how it went later, he was sure he'd guess the out come on his own. It may be a two way street, but she owed the captain it because the captain was going to take her off the island. He didn’t feel like he owed it so much because he showed it, then it was not shown even remotely back.

Wren laughed softly and couldn't help but gently pet Gabriel's head as he bowed. "No need to bow lover, I am nothing of noblity" Smiling softly, Wren had some how manage to slide her dagger from her boot again and was now holding it tightly againist her back. Glancing around Wren kept the same slightly uneased smile on her face, as she turned her head to look at Gabriel. "Where's your captian love?"

Katherine strode into the tavern confidently, having brushed her coat and adjusted her hat outside. It always did well to make an impressive entrance, especially if one was in search of new crew members, which Katherine happened to be. She was however more concerned with the search for decent food and rum at that moment, so after a shorter pose than usual the captain hurried towards the bar.

She called for the rotund wench that she was vaguely aware worked there once upon a time, not really caring who answered so long as her belly was filled. Arrogantly assuming that the servers would know who she was and what she wanted, Katherine sauntered towards the more secluded tables reserved for those of wealth and reputation. A glance around proved that the Golden Cutlass was more crowded than usual, but Katherine paid the other customers no attention whatsoever except to sneer faintly.

Annie could barely contain herself. Had she been younger and more spry, the woman would have probably pranced over to the newcomer straight away. A captain in The Cutlass, this would surely turn into quite an evening. "Welcome to me fine establishment, Cap'n. I be the owner, Mrs. Wells, but ya can call me Anchor Annie. What'll ya have ta sate your lusts after a long voyage?" With a wink, Annie ushered the Captain to the finest of the private tables and whistled for a couple of idle barmaids.

Gabriel looked around and noticed Katherine sitting at the 'rich people' tables, "She's over there", Gabriel pointed to Katherine, "lets go talk to her," Gabriel walked up to Katherine and smiled, not caring to ask for permission he sat down across from Katherine. "I apologise for not asking permission Captain, but this is Wren I think she wishes to ask you something," he turned to Wren and smiled, "go ahead Wren."

Ara nearly dropped her mug of rum as a captain walked in. Nearly every one seemed to notice her, barmaids rushing about to make sure that she was served, the owner making sure she was seen. Just about every pirate in the place wanted in on her good side, if she had a good side. And that included Ara. But waiting till she wasn’t bombarded would most likely make a better impression. She checked the coin bag that she carried, just enough to make an impression to. She sighed and continued with her rum.

Standing behind, Gabriel Wren tossed her hands on her hips staring down at Gabriel for a moment. "Calm yourself my love, I'll ask her in a moment...But it seems you cap'n is hungry so let her order and eat before I go off shov'n myself in her face" Smiling softly, Wren bowed her head to Katherine, before gently resting one hand on Gabriel's shoulder as if though to calm him.

"Do forgive him, Cap'n ma'am" Wren's smile grew slightly wicked over Gabriel's shoulder, leaning in then Wren took Gabriel's hand. "Come love, lets leave the lady cap'n to eat tis n't right to watch a lady eat"

Katherine smirked inwardly as the owner nearly fell over herself to make the captain welcome, though she kept a disinterested expression fixed on her face. It wouldn't do to have them feel too comfortable with a supposedly dangerous captain. After all, Katherine had a reputation to uphold. "Whatever slop you're serving. And fast. I'm not here to wait around."

Belying the sharp words, Katherine carelessly set a generous pile of coins on the table in front of her. She was well aware of the stares it attracted, and well pleased with them. When the young lad she recognized from her own ship brought forth a wench, Katherine was quite sure he was going to offer the girl's services for the night. She was thus quite surprised to hear what followed.

Annoyed, Katherine didn't bother to mask her irritation. "If you've got something to say, say it. I'm no proper lady at any rate."

"Right away." Annie glared at the maids who hurriedly went to fetch rum and stew. Reaching for the pay, she grinned at the Captain and winked. "Finest rum on the Isla, headed yer way."
