Jeff looked around sleepily, "uh...sure." HE managed to get to his feet but stumbled on his way out of the shower.

Yakov steadied Jeff and helped him to the bed. "You doin alright there?" He smiled as carefully set Jeff down.

The phone rang. Yakov let it go. He didn't want to deal with more interruptions. The answering machine picked up and his sisters voice burst through the room. "You pick up this damn phone right now or so help me..."
"What the hell do you want we're trying to sleep."
"Oh, I don't know, maybe I'm just wondering why a potential informant in the middle of a breakdown got dropped in my lab. Ally said he had 'dealt with her' a little bit for crossing the line at your place, but what the hell happened over there that lines got crossed so far that I have a vampire healing a broken skull?"
"Hey I just told her to that we didn't want to deal with her and she should go talk to you. She's the one who kept pushing and made Jeff..."
"Let me talk to him."
"What? No, he's asleep."
"Yakov put him on the phone or I will come over there."
"Fine." He shoved Jeff. "Sorry, phone for you and I'm pretty sure if you don't answer it, we'll never get to sleep ever again."

Jeff mumbled something as he opened his eyes. He stared at the phone for a second trying to remember what it was. He had to make two attempts before he grabbed it and put it on his ear. "Huh?"

JEff pulled the phone away from his ear. "What you mean?" He mumbled.

"I have a vampire with a caved in skull, Jeff. A potentially very useful vampire. First, I thought I was gonna have to chew out Yakov, but then I find out it was you. I know she did a hell of a lot shitty things to you Jeff, but what I thought you were smarter than this. We're trying to save the world here. Breaking our help is not going to make that easier. What the hell were you thinking?"

Jeff hung up the phone and gently set in on the bedside table. He rolled over and took Yakov up in his arms and just held him close.

Yakov couldn't relax, even in Jeff's arms. There had been far too much yelling. He cringed when the phone rang again.
