Yay! It was the weekend! That was all Hinote and Yuu could think about as Nohiro (who FINALLY got his liscense... Geez!) drove them all home from school. "Guess what, mom?" Hinote asked excitedly.
"What?"
"I got an A on my first spelling test!"
"Wow, that's gr--wait, you had a spelling test?"
"Yeah."
"And... you didn't tell us?"
"Well, daddy and you were busy."
Yuumei just stared at her daughter blankly. "... at least I know that you didn't get your spelling abilities from your dad!"
"HEY."
"He couldn't spell 'worst' to save his life!"
"I thought there was an 'e' at the end! So sue me!"
"Worst! W-O-R-S-T!" Hinote giggled, as she looked at her dad's expression. He was always so silly!
He then slapped Yuu with a new marching band glove while keeping his eyes on the road. "Shut up! I know you're trying to contain your laughter!"
"It's just so funny!" the teen laughed. "Our daughter can spell better than you can!"
Svetlana beeped and booped as she floated next her her owner. "They very silly."
Hinote nodded. "Yup!"
It didn't take much longer until they came home. "Ok, everyone out of the car," Nohiro told the girls. "I'm going to get the mail."
"I want to go open the front door!"
"Ok Note. Here's the key." Yuumei then tossed her copy of the key to her, and got her stuff out of the car.
While skipping down the path to the front door, Lana brought Note's attention to the interesting package on the steps. "Note~ boop I think this is for you."
"Hmm?" Note just opened the door and was about to go in when she saw it too. "Ooooooh! Is it for me, Lana?"
"beep~ Yeah, I think so."
"Can you bring it in?"
"Sure~"
Yuu and Nohiro then walked into the house to the sight of their daughter tearing at the paper mercilessly, her eyes full of curiosity. "Uh... dear, do you know who that is from? Or even who it is to?" The father asked.
Lana spoke for her owner. "It's for her. Here's the card." The communicon handed him the card.
"So it is... but... er, who's it from?"
"OOOH! I KNOW!" Yuumei jumped around. "I've been learning hirigana! Lesse... Sa... chi...ya. Oh, it's from Sachiya! That's so cute!"
"SACHY!? OOOH!" Note was even more determined to see what was inside now! As she lifted the cover off the box, she just gasped.
Nohiro blinked. "What is it, Hinote?"
The little girl lifted up the red rose carefully for her parents to see. "It's beautiful!"
"Wow, that's so sweet! I'll get a small vase for you to put it in, dear."
"Daddy? What does this say?" Hinote pointed to the text she found with the rose.
"Hmmm... Alter ipse amicus."
"Whazzat mean?"
"Hold on, dear," Nohiro waited for Yuu to show up before answering his daughter's question. "Alter ipse amicus means 'A friend is another self'."
The teen almost spilled the water from the vase when she heard him. "How do you know that?!"
He just smirked. "And you thought I was stupid, hmm?"

September 17, 2005 (6:14 PM) Dear Diary,
Wow, it's been so hectic, I really can't keep up with what's going around me. @_@ Homecoming was last night - and boy, what a night it was! But practices and tons of homework and relationship problems... Gah. Hinote's been taking good care of herself, though. After school, we go to band practice and watches. Sometimes she tries to help out too.
Lately, she's been hanging out with a freshie named Eleazar. He's a cool kid! Though the other percussionists don't like him as much. I wonder why? He's very sweet to Hinote and even gave her a pair of drumsticks. It's kind of funny, seeing her hold them, because they are so big. But she's really willing to learn for him. I just hope that she doesn't get in trouble for secretly taking lessons... seeing how the other percs get mad at Eleazar. *sigh* Just because he started out as a trombone player... Such prejudice!
Hinote's been very quiet too. Every once in a while, she has this... "empty" look on her face. Her grades are good... she made some good friends... neither Nohiro or I have done anything to make her upset. What if... what if something from her real father's side has affected her? I know that I haven't seen any signs of her manipulating shadows or anything... but sometimes she seems like such a different girl... like she's not my little Note. Right now, she's in her room and locked herself up. What's happened?
There's so much on my mind right now. It's so frustrating not knowing what to do. Nohiro's been swamped with work too... but I swear, he's PMSing... I don't get him anymore.
Why is it so quiet before the storm?
Well, I'll just hold on for now. Maybe during the break, I'll bring Note to the clinic and see if she can play with other children.

I also have to give Keith back his dragon, as well as the gift I was going to give him the next time I saw him. sweatdrop I feel like I have been such a bad friend. =( I miss them. I think I have changed quite a bit, Diary. I think I'm taller! I grew a little bit, but I'm still shorter than Mommy. XP My hair has grown quite a bit, and getting wavy. I think it looks nice! Because I got bigger, I got some new clothes - shopping ish FUN! As for school, I got Daddy's Science smarts and Mommy's ... well, other smarts! XD Daddy also said that I have Mommy's curiosity and naiveness. ^^; I'm learning how to play the recorder, but I much perfer playing the piano. It sounds prettier and you don't have to blow. ^_~; My spelling has gotten better, thanks to school. It's nice here, wherever we are, but I want to go home. For some reason, Mommy says that she can't seem to find a way to get back to our home in Gaia. Really? I hope that's not true. I want to tell Rei-Rei all about what has happened, and see Sachy again! I think there ish something Mommy isn't telling me. Every time I walk in on her, she's shaking the computer monitor and screams "WHAT?!?!? PORTAL CLOSED?!?!?! YOU STUPID PIECE OF--"... then she notices I'm there. It's funny what happens after that, because her face looks funny! XD Well, maybe when Mommy's asleep, I'll try and see what's wrong with the computer that makes her go all spazzy. Seeing Mommy stressed makes me feel bad for her. I hope that when I'm in High School, I won't be like that! Well, that's all for now. Until then, diary! heart Hinote

6:00 am. Yuu's still asleep. Only the computer screen illuminates the otherwise dark room. No more classes. No more books.... No more teacher's dirty looks. At least, for 2 weeks - it's spring break. Besides, they never gave little Hinote dirty looks, because she's an angel. Well, technically, half an--okay, yeah. We get it.
The little girl looks around the room through the slightly opened door. I wonder if Daddy ever came home yet? she thinks to herself, as she scans the bed. Wait - two lumps in the bed? Could it be?
Note inches toward it, the door wide open now. The light from the hallway makes all the more difference, as she sees her mother's face...
... And a giant body pillow that she is clinging onto. Hinote sighs. I think Mommy misses Daddy. She strays away from the bedside to the computer, remembering why she came in here in the first place. Let's see what's wrong with this computer...
Suddenly... "BEEP~! HINOTE!"
"GYAH!" Note squeaked as she saw Svetlana, her communicon, pop out of no where. "Shhhhhhh, Lana!!! You'll wake Mommy up!" She looked at the bed once more, noticing Yuu was moving. Was she awake!? ... Thankfully not. She was just stirring before continuing to softly snore.
The lights on the communicon's wings slowly dimmed, indicating the volume was being turned down. "Boop~ Sorry Note. But what are you doing in your mother's bedroom chamber?"
"Mommy said that we can't go home, for some weird reason. And I think it has to do with the computer."
"What gives you that idea?"
"She screams at it, wondering why a portal won't open."
"Oh, that explains a lot."
"Yeah. I wonder what's with this portal. I never remember going through the portal."
"Beep~Well, that's because you're always sleeping when we go off places~"
"Hmmm..." Note thought for a moment. "I guess that's true." She moved the mouse on the computer, trying to wake it up. "But enough dilly-dallying. Let's see what's wrong for ourselves."
The screen lit up to a bright blue welcome screen, and icons on the side with names. "Lesse," Hinote whispered as she pointed the mouse to each one. "There's Mommy's account, Daddy's Account, My account... Huh? Portal? There's a portal account?"
Lana whirred. "I think that's the portal thing your mother was yelling about, Note."
"Oh.... well, I'm not totally awake yet, so cut me some slack!"
"What time did you get up?"
"5:30..."
"That's plenty of time to be awake. Besides, you're up and about--"
"Daddy's been using you too much, Lana."
"I'm sorry."
"It's okay. Just get me a cookie, I'm hungry."
"Alright!" The communicon zoomed out of the room, and within minutes, she was back.
While the girl nimbled on the cookie, she double-clicked on the portal account. A window then popped up asking for a last name. Carefully, she typed in "TeNsHi".
"You're not supposed to type it in like that!"
"What?! It looks cooler than just typing it normally."
"Beeeep~ But who would type it in like that?!"
"I would!" With that, her small fist landed on the "enter" button. Surprisingly, it worked.
As the two continued to squabble, the screen started to change. The words "Portal: Open" flashed as what looked like a tunnel grew closer and closer, as if it was going to pop up right out of the screen.
Svetlana was the first to notice. "Boop~ Hinote, look!"
"Wha--?"
And flash.

Monday, March 20, 2006 [11:14 AM] Dear Diary, I think my family is trying to drive me insane. As if I'm not insane enough! crying School's been so hectic, I had to leave Gaia for a while through the portal, and the portal won't let me back IN, so Rei doesn't know and I can't tell HER, so most likely she LEFT AND WENT OFF SOMEWHERE AND I DON'T KNOW IF SHE'S OKAY, and Nohiro went OFF somewhere because of his stupid SCIENCE stuff, and so I never see him around and I MISS HIM. AND NOW I CAN'T FIND MY BABY ANYWHERE! gonk What a way to wake up in the morning. Lana's not around, so hopefully it's with her, so I can try and call my baby. I need coffee. Maybe then I can think straight. @_@ x Yuu

2006 GMFC Easter Egg Hunt! + + + "I wonder if this is the place..."
Hinote looked around as she came to the field on a bike she had back at the house. It was odd being home alone, but it wasn't so bad. Thank goodness for some of the company Yuu's pets gave her.
Gaia was filled with people everywhere, chasing after hopping easter eggs. O_o That just freaked the little girl out. That and the supposed "Easter Bunny" looked like something from the Terminator. She wanted to spend time outside, but not around the craziness in the towns.
Perhaps though, it seemed crazy to her since she never participated in an egg hunt. Hmm.
Her little communicon whirred by her side, and confirmed that this was the place. She nodded, and placed her bike out of the way, by a nearby tree. Note looked around, curious if she saw anything she knew. As curious as she can be, she was still very shy around people she didn't know.
"It's starting, come on!" Tiegan squealed, dropping an orange crayon onto the table and snatching up her colorful paper bag. She didn't wait for Elle, who was sitting nearby with her own paper bag, Tiegan was already racing over to where the hunt worker was.
Elle followed, picking up the silly bag. It wasn't as colorful as Tie's bag, all Elle had done was staple a dark purple ribbon around the edge. She stood a little way off with the bag hidden under her cloak. She wanted to see if any other teenagers were going to hunt, Elle wasn't sure if she was young enough.
"Uwha? It's starting?" Hinote's ears perked at the sound of the lady's voice. She went to the table people seemed to be going to and picked up a bag. She tended to look down at her feet while she walked, seeing how Note didn't see anyone familiar.
Not such a good idea.
Lana tried to warn her. "Erm, 'Note, look ou--"
CRASH. Oooh. That hurt!
Rubbing her forehead, Note looked to see what she bumped into. Gah! it's not a thing - but rather, another girl... with green hair. Was she okay?! "OH! I'M SO SORRY!" she said frantically as she got on her feet and offered her a hand. "I'm so so so so sorry! Are you okay?"
The plan had been to drop to all fours, and crawl as fast as she could to that likely looking clump of bush and grass! It hadn't been 'Hit, fall over, create another rip!' But Tiegan didn't mind, she thought her pants were still too boring.
She took the other girl's hand and got up. "I'm okay! The grass is very soft after winter."
Tie took a moment to look at the other girl. They were close to the same height, only the other girl was kind of evil looking like in all of dad's comics and cartoons. But that just made her even cooler! She could probably go 'zap!' with her eyes, and know where the eggs were. "I'm Tie!"
Wow, Tie... this girl seemed awfully chipper. Not a bad thing, though. With a smile, Note's eyes began to glow. After noticing that Tie was fine, how could she not be happy? It could've been worse. "That's good, I'm sorry I wasn't looking where I was going! I'm Hinote... You can call me Note if you want, though."
She then looked around, with the confused look on her face. "Um... what exactly are we supposed to do?"
"Um. I think we're supposed to look for eggs under things or in things. The easter bunny likes to hide them everywhere." Tie scratched her head, looking around as well. "Do you want to look with me?"
"Easter Bunny? Who's that?" Poor Hinote... She was such a shielded little child from things like the Easter Bunny and Jack and... heck, even Santa Claus. But Hinote didn't know anything about it. Could you blame her? When Tie offered to look for eggs together, Note felt more relieved now. Someone to hang out with! "Sure, I'll look eggs with you!"
"I think it's a really big rabbit that makes Easter eggs come out of magic. But he hides them so that you have to look for them, so you don't get fat while you're eating chocolate." Tie shrugged. She, apparently, was very influenced by the 'loose weight!' campaigns on Gaia TV.
"Why don't you look under something, and I'll try and look on top of things?" Tie tried to climb on top of a tall fence pole, seeing if there was anything up there.
"A gold egg!" Tie practically fell back down, holding onto it as if she was afraid it would leap off into vanishedness or something. She shook it, broke it and tried to see if anything was inside. "Note, did you find anything?"
Hinote nodded as she got on her hands and knees to look in the grass. Wow, Tie was quite the climber! "I didn't find anything yet, Tie!" she called back to her. Hmm... She noticed some odd tree roots - perhaps something small could hide in there?
"Well, I guess not." Note sighed after reaching in with no luck. What's in these eggs anyway? Well, no way to know until she found one herself. She started crawling around, searching through bushes, checking behind rocks. Maybe if there wasn't any on the ground, she'll climb up and join Tie in the tree!
That's it... maybe there's more luck looking in the trees, Hinote finally decided. As she began to stand up, she realized how high and rough the trees are... Oi.
Wait a minute... duh! She didn't have wings for nothin'! Note's wings unfolded from her back and lightly fluttered until she was up into the higher branches. "Wow, it's pretty cool under here!" Say, are all those eggs normal? Or was there an easter egg in there? Warily, she looked around before deciding it was safe to check. After all, what if a mother bird thought she was attacking her nest? That wouldn't be pretty.

No way... could it be? She took the red speckled egg into her hands and stared for a moment... Yes, it was! "Tie! I found my first egg!" she called out to her new friend - who was... well, somewhere. Now that she thought about it, the girl reminded her about a friend of Rei, her dear sister... She heard about her, but... eh, she couldn't be too sure.
I wonder if I can find more eggs around here, Note thought as she carefully placed the egg in the paper bag. She decided that it'd be best to open it at the end, so she didn't lose what was in it. Just to be safe, of course.
She then began to search around some more, peering into some hollow holes in the tree, searching among the leaves... you never know, right?

After the Easter Egg Hunt, Hinote walked down the path back home. Oh course, Lana at her side. "That was a lot of fun," she said, carefully holding her reward.
Suddenly, SPLASH.
"KYAA!" The girl cried. "Lana, whatwasthat?!"
The communicon scanned the area... "I'm not sure, Note. Perhaps some people are playing at the nearby lake?"
"There. is. no. LAKE."
"Huh?" Lana searched the area again. "Oh! Eh... my mistake."
"THEN WHAT WAS IT!?"
"I don't know! Why you yelling at me?!"
"BECAUSE YOU SHOULD KNOW!--" WHOOSH! "OOF!"
"Hinote, are you okay?"
Finally, that was it. THAT was the last STRAW. WHAT was that thing that kept on blinding her with light as she left, and now splashing water and pushing her with wind - SHE WASN'T GOING INSANE! She knew that! THERE. WAS. SOMETHING. THERE. Hinote hands squeezed into fists as she growled, warning whatever was behind her to get ready for a brutal verbal attack. "WHOEVER YOU ARE, I'M GOING TO HURT YOU IF YOU DON'T STOP IT!" she screamed. So maybe it'd just be a horrible tantrum.
"NOW, WHAT HAVE I EVER DONE TO--" Note then turned around... to see a cute, furry brown...
Puppy?
Big, emerald eyes blinked innocently at her as she lost all sense of anger and squealed in delight. "Awww," she cooed, "Kawaii! It's a puppy!"
'What you mean a puppy? O.o' the kura raised an eyebrow - well, if the little critters did have one, he would've raised it - at the strange human-angel-devil... thing. Never in his small life did he see such a peculiar little girl... though, she wasn't the strangest one, that's for sure. 'I am certainly not a puppy, little girl. I'm a kura!' If only he didn't swish his tail and stick out his tounge to insult her, would she might had figured that out better. Then again, she couldn't understand what he was saying.
Hinote then picked him up and patted him on the head. "You're so cute! Though... hmmm..." after a quick look over his strange, little wings and cat-like ears, she was having second thoughts on what he was. "Okay, maybe you're not a puppy..."
The kura snorted a bit and rolled his eyes. 'Uh, duuuuuuuuh.'
"Hey, I saw that!" she scolded him. Such a mischievous little rascal. "Where did you come from, eh? Are you looking for your owner?"
'Well, not exactly, more like my guardian...' he thought, his ears drooping. He looked at the direction he came, in hopes that would give her an idea. He was soul bound to someone, but he hadn't seen her since the game at the headquarters that one day... Now that he thought about it now though, this little girl seemed to resemble his supposed guardian. Though souls are all different, something about hers reminded her of....
"Perhaps Mom would let me keep you. You're awfully cute and fluffy," Hinote interjected his thought as she picked him up. "That is... if Mom ever gets back here."
The kura looked at Note oddly. "Mom?"
"Just come with me... You look like an Alexei. Come with me Alexei!" She giggled and skipped along the road, while the poor thing wondered...
"How did she know my name?"
