Since everything is all piratey I thought I might bring up a subject that has always lingered on my mind...
~Avast!~
-A play-
Avast! is a play that I wrote as a one-act in 10th grade, and got high critique as well as high applaud (critique from my head director, and applaud from the audience and the actors who were in it, XD). I wrote it and then co-directed it to be performed at our school's One Act Play festival, which we no longer do, =(.
The play itself is a comedy and finished within 30 minutes (a typical one-act play length, despite my Creative Writing teacher's thinking of them being less than 10 minutes (that's a scene, not an act)) and was the last play of the evening on that particular night. So we got to do some other stuff plays before us couldn't, =D.
So last year, despite not being in the class, I wrote a sequel "Tales of Another Voyage" (Avast! the Second) which revolved on even less of a plot and more sponteneous and random characters. At the end, I even didn't know what happened. My head director (he did not co-direct the first one, he just was the supervisor for all of them) deemed the sequel "too random" despite having plays even more messed up than my own in the festival that year (last year they did it). And so, I was ticked about that.
But I thought... with all the 3 movies coming out this year, why not give it another try? Though the school year is almost over, I want to at least finish it to say, "I DID IT", despite not being performed. I brought a few characters back from the original cast, along with a few from the second and a few new ones too. I actually hope to turn it into a full story, filled with the humor and randomness (plus I have a good feeling for all of the characters).
Why am I telling you this? I'm currently writing the third one, and I'd like a little critique on it.
Because I'm currently in a hurry I can't give all the details, but I'll do another post where I explain all the events from the last 2 plays as well as the current events when the third one starts (I'm almost done with scene 2, =D. "Avast !!! The Threequel" has a total of 5 scenes)
