Ash nodded understanding. I guess I'll have a replica made. If that's the case it's probably too dangerous to keep this one. Think I should have Haisyn burn it?" She made herself as comfortable as could be managed and hoped she'd set herself up so she wouldn't fall over sideways either. Banging her head along the railing probably wouldn't help any if she got a headache from memory overdose. "And let's just do it now. You know me, I'm horrible about giving my watchers surprises." There was that mental feeling of sticking her tongue out. "Besides, for all I know, it might not keep me out long. I don't know how long you or the others might have been out, but I don't have powers without the stones, either, so that might be a factor. And I don't have those with me right now, anyway."

"I'm not sure how well they would respond to heat, but, you can definintely try," Nika nodded. He'd never considered that there might be more than one way to destroy the mask, "The others, as far as I know, have been smashed."
He watched quietly as she got comfortable and rearanged himself so that he was sitting cross-legged. His stomach was twisting in hundreds of little, obnoxious knots. It appeared, just by looking at the pair of them, that Nika was more nervous than the masked girl that was about to be knocked out and have her life changed forever.
"It's better that you don't have any magical abilities right now. Otherwise, they would interfere with power of the stone," Nika said simply.
Slowly, he lifted the lid of the box to reveal the beautiful crystal, tucked within the folds of a red velvet cloth, that Sei had given to him. A rush of feeling flew from the box and floated, wonderfully delicate and wild at the same time, around their heads.
"Sei called this the melody stone," he mumured softly, and gestured at it with his his hands.
Then, he looked at her with a pointed expression, "Take it in your hands. It might feel a bit strange, but don't worry. I have a feeling it's supposed to be that way."
Nika had never actually touched the thing himself. He didn't need to.

Ash was anxious, and it was hitting her harder now that she saw the stone and the fact that she was about to be... well she wasn't sure what she was about to be. But also, in a way, this was just the next step in whatever journey she was on. She and Haisyn had both had their worlds turned upside down repeatedly since her Guardian had first encountered the Joker Whimsy mask and Ash began to wake up... It was frightening, exciting, and at the same time seemed like another matter of course. But she wanted this... and that held her in check as much as anything else. That... and knowing that whatever she was going to remember, none of it could possibly be as bad as some of the things Haisyn had been through and had finally, slowly, been telling her about.
She carefully picked up the stone, eyes fixed on the facets of the crystal. It was beautiful. Her hands were shaking just slightly, and she couldn't tell if it was something the stone was doing to make them vibrate, or if it was just nerves... "What... do I do?"

Nika didn't need to reply or explain anything and, if he had, the blond man wasn't sure what he could have possibly said. He didn't know.
The moment Ashi's hands enclosed around the stone, it's magic began to work. There was no noise and nothing to see, but a hell of a lot to feel. The crystal's temperature increased in her hands and flowed up her arms, past her shoulders and into the flesh of her flesh. When it reached a point of almost unbearable heat, the crystal started to glow.
Nika watched with wide, blue eyes as Sei's spell flowed out of the Melody Stone and into the air around them, combining with the other, wonderful feelings that already hung there. The maskless man raised two, shaking hands to the side of Ashi's mask and pulled gently.
It came away with a cartoonish pop and he laid it on the ground beside him before turning to stare at the beautiful and very unconscious young lady in front of him. It had worked. Nika released a long breath of air, one he hadn't known he'd been holding in.
A relieved smile found it's way onto his face and, with a sigh, Nika dug the stone out of her hands and returned it to the wooden box.((Many congratulations, Hai!! heart ))

Haisyn showed up a few minutes later, though it wasn't until she was actually on the porch and looking down at Ash that she realized the mask was gone. "...Well. Every time I think things are starting to get settled... she just had to do something, doesn't she?" She shook her head and sat down, examining her friend for a moment before smiling slightly. "She's even got an impish little face behind the mask."
She didn't bother asking Nika for an explanation. The mask was gone, so she basically got all the explanation she needed right there, after what happened when Ash grew. She just waited a few minutes to see if Ash would come around or not before picking up first herself and then her charge. "I guess we'll come see you and Gee after she wakes up. We can barbeque or something to celebrate. Just... don't let the guys do it. Tavil would blow something up and Verran would eat it all." She grinned at her own little private joke and stepped carefully down off the porch and headed back to the house to put her friend to bed.
