Ok, this is the first RP that I've created, so I'll be honest: I'm very likely to not give you important bits of information sweatdrop . And it's highly likely to suck too, but I'm not going to tell you that xd . If you need anything, feel free to PM me.

Location: the world of Kaoshin
Time: It's been 100 years since the Shrieker revealed himself. All of Kaoshin is in a desperate struggle to defend itself from the Shreiker's hoards. People are beginning explore the use of magic in machinery, which before was impossible due to the small number of known magically gifted people in the world. Swords and similar weaponry are the current tools of war.
History: throughout man's history on Kaoshin, war and conquest have sowed the land with blood. Empires rose through conquest and fell through rebellion. Within the chaos, one EXTREMELY magically gifted man by the name of Euclid Caldreson discovered a new type of energy: Magic. Throughout his life, he studied it, leading to his final discovery of magician, a new language (more info in "magical physics" section). He had 3 sons, all "gifted" as well, and helped them to develope their own skills.
The eldest son, believing that other "gifted" people must exist, founded the University of Magic, the first school of magic and is still the finest today, and raised it into a famous and beautiful facility until his natural death at age 177. The middle son was more curious and tested different uses of magic, but disappeared one night and was never seen again. The youngest introduced magic into the military, quickly rising to the highest of ranks before dying in battle at age 97. Trained wizards or sorcerors or whatever you want to call them quickly became the core of an army's strength, a weapon that could easily wipe out several unprotected infantry OR cavalry units, but were very rare since finding gifted people was difficult and no forms of surveying people for these abilities had yet been introduced.
After approx. 200 years, the leaders of the 6 empires of the world met on a small island to discuss a peace treaty. After some discussion, everyone knew that no peace would result from this meeting. Each leader ordered his hiding troops to ambush the other leaders, but from the masses arose the Shreiker, a black robed creatur whose arms are tied in the manor of a straightjacket, who inhumanly screeched and slaughtered the assembly horrifically, leaving only 3 survivors to tell the tale. It has been 100 years since that day and the world is at constant war with the Shreiker and his minions.
Magical Physics: Within "gifted" individuals, magic is produced as a natural bodily function. Electrical signal from the brain can trigger a reaction with magic, causing it to change into another form of energy (heat, kinetic, light, electrical, matter if Einstein is right, the energies you learned in your high school science classes xp ). This can create kinetic energy to levatate or move objects, heat to launch fire from their fingers, and various other tricks.
Magician is a language that, through exploration of magic, was founded by Euclid. Magician is directly understood and obeyed by the subconcious. Thus reading this language for a "spell" in a "spellbook" will give the subconcious direct instructions on what signals to send to the magic in which area to cause it to do what. Memorizing these lines can allow one to cast the spell without any written aid. Fluency in the language leads to almost complete magical freedom.
Why did I make all this? Because if you use magic, I want you to be able to tell me how you did it. That's my way of eliminating: "H4H H4H 1 5T0P T1M3 AND M4K3 U 3XPL0D3!!1!!!" Hopefully it works.
