His rudeness was no longer of any importance. He'd revealed what she wanted to know from him. The pack needed more members, and here she was. She'd timed it right. Things might finally start to fit into place.
She smiled.
"Good, looks like you're stuck with me now," she said in a semi-playful way.

The male winced slightly at that and looked at her, baring his teeth in a sickly sweet grin aimed towards her.
"Oh Goody." He said, voice twisted and dark and dripping with sarcasm as he watched her closely before getting up and stretching a little more.
Dammit, he hated getting old, his bones felt as dry as the ones that surrounded the pair.
"So, you have any siblings or pups that have been following you and have yet to appear?" The male asked, bright violet eyes watching the female closely as his large, fang bearing jaws opened in a loud yawn before he stopped to listen for her answer.

His grumpiness was quite entertaining now, and made her smile and giggle slightly. It was a kind of 'love-hate' jab at each other. Sarcasm was fun.
"Oh yes, I have a whole brood waiting to march in here," she teased.
Kisiri could see his slight effort at moving, and ran circles around him in a show of her youth.
"No, I've travelled alone for a long time. No family, no pups...no friends..." she hesitated to reveal that last part, actually feeling somewhat ashamed of herself.

The male was honestly scared for a moment, the thought of more pups was scary and if they were anything like her...a look of terror came over his face as his snout sneered back and he stuck out his tongue.
Until she told him the truth and simply sat there, staring at her for a moment before he let out a little sigh of relief.
"Well thank the Roh'khim for that." He stated quite bluntly before, sneering at the way she flaunted her youth so proudly infront of him.
And yet he couldn't help but smirk at the thought of the female being swollen with pups and having to look after the little buggars.
It made him smirk so much that one of those, memorable, bone chilling hyena chuckles bubble forth from the old male.
"Don't worry about friends, if you're anything like Mafa you two will either but heads till there's only one of you left or get on better than fish and water."

Despite being capable of the same chilling laugh, his chuckle sent a momentary chill down Kisiri's spine and wiped the exuberant smile from her maw.
At least the change of topic onto the pack's leader perked up her a mood a bit.
"Will you take me to her? Or show me around..." she asked hopefully.

The male paused momentarily, squaring his jaw slightly as he thought over her question, he could've easily said no, but that would lead to more confrontation and the swollen scent of youth was starting to make him feel older than he already was.
So he nodded towards her, stretching his paws again.
"Sure, but prepare yourself now Kisiri..." He said bluntly. "Because if you thought living as a rogue was tough, just wait till you've lived here."
And with that he made his way past the skulls towards Mafa's den, but at a pace that the new female could follow.

Was that statement supposed to scare her? Was this just more attempts on his part to discourage new members because he was grumpy? It wasn't working. Kisiri had settled into a stubborn childishness, thinking that, after meeting this old grump, she was invincible.
She followed, wordlessly but with a determined smile on her maw. Whta had she got herself into?
