Larmyth I'm not one to add a fruity taste to my chocolate. But orange is straight out. I had forgotten about Baileys, I'll experiment with the Rum, and Brandy, but I was looking for a brand or type. I have yet to check the links... on that now. PS: I hate the burn of alcohol so I try to cook that part out, or convince myself that I do. If you used Bailey's with a hot chocolate that didn't neccessarily need milk, then you might not have to worry about curdling, but still get a good, heavy drink out of it.

Depending on the context, I drink because it's the done thing, or drink for the love of the drink (wines and spirits only) or drink to get totally off my face with no limitations and no holds barred.
It definitely plays to my sense of competition and my risktaking/self-destructive side. There's something liberating about walking home after ingesting enough poison to fell a lesser man, or about waking up relatively ok after choking up enough alcohol to kill a herd of bison.
I'm also a developing wine-taster and a longtime lover of whiskies and brandy, and have reached a point where I can teach people to taste the difference between a Scotch and Irish whiskey in just a few minutes.
I also drink to prove that I can defy my family trait of alcoholism. I want to play with fire rather than forbidding myself contact with it, and by doing that I can extract maximum enjoyment without it breaking me. heart

Agreed on the sense of competition...
We were playing 'Balderdash' the other week as a drinking game, though, and I was the first to get wasted because the others drank alcopops when they lost a round and I drank vodka. Plus, I suck at Balderdash, and it's much harder the drunker you are.

But one alcopop is more alcohol than one shot of vodka.

Loli drinks his alcohol by the bottle, not by the shot.

Invictus_88 But one alcopop is more alcohol than one shot of vodka. When I say they were drinking alcopops, I mean they were drinking 'shots' of alcopops, not a bottle for each round lost XD

Show them how drinking games should be played. They'll thank you for it when they get to uni.
...
Wait.
Didn't you say you're at uni? Please tell me these people aren't AT university AND still doing shots of alcopops? O_o

This sort of rubbish. Just 5% ABV, and tastes of over-sweet fruit lemonade.

It's what teenagers who were not used to the taste of alcohol comsumed in mass quantities hereabouts in order to get drunk fast until the government started to heavily tax it. Vile stuff.

Aw, that defeats half the purpose...The enjoyment of the alcohol itself is just as important as enjoying it's effects.

Went out last night and had delicious vodka. Finlandia, now that's decent vodka biggrin
Though, the white Aftershock isn't too great. I was all hyped up for something sweet but it was too sweet. Sickly, even.
