from popmatters.com:
"Wile E. Coyote may have been a genius, but his contraptions always crapped out at some point during a short subject. Here the newly dubbed Tech E. Coyote is a faultless fabricator of everything. He can make canon-like guns that morph into handheld talismans, or a mega-weapon battle cruiser complete with missile launchers."
First off, it's 700 years from now. you'd think they'd be even more advanced than that. And, as one episode clearly showed, Tech *did* have stuff that crapped out. Before the meteor hit, he blew up his workplace. and his boss. even afterwards, a couple of his inventions' motors stopped. good job. he's not perfect, so don't expect it.
"Rev Roadrunner is lightning fast"
Well, no s**t. Talk about a stupid comment
"While Ace Bunny uses his laser vision to death-ray his opponents."
yeah, that'll happen when you stare at a flaming meteor for too long. Like it's any different from cyclops in X-men...
"Taking one too many concepts from the now tween-friendly world of anime,"
Pardon? this is related to anime in now way whatsoever. Teen titans is the cartoon with all the superdeformed and *gonk* expressions.
"Loonatics doesn't tell stories so much as it sets up fights. Narratives stop and start, rewind and change direction midway, and just when you think the Loonatics have run out of options, they pull out that shortcut known as the "secret weapon" to save the day."
Well, yeah, they always gotta have gadgets and tricks up their sleeves. they're well-prepared. what do you think they did for a year in the show...
"One moment, Slam Tazmawhatchamacallit can melt ice, and in the next, he is helplessly frozen in a mammoth-sized cube."
That'll happen if your hand is frozen with your flamethrower.
"Danger Duck can teleport anywhere he wants to, except inside the Vikings' starship to disable it."
Yeah, if i teleported into somewhere without knowing the structure... well... i'd rather not be stuck in the floor.
~Try thinking. It's a cartoon. Just because it's new-style and you *think* you can pick out everything wrong with it, doen't mean that it is,in fact, bad.
from toonarific.com:
"The Looney Tunes as futuristic superheroes is clearly a terrible idea to anyone who had exposure to the characters other than seeing them on t-shirts."
"We Looney Tunes fans are like that; first Warner shut down Termite Terrace, and the animation department started to suck, and it just got worse and worse to the point that you couldn't even count on Bugs Bunny to make you laugh. Those were the dark years, when Daffy Duck inexplicably chased Speedy Gonzales, and unfunny new characters made their presence known. After thirty years of disuse, the occasional Looney Tunes project was enough to entertain mildly despite the original material not being funny -- The Bugs Bunny Mother's Day Special and Daffy's Fantasy Island, for example. Loonatics Unleashed might even have been welcome in 1995, but in 2005 it's a reminder of far darker days, and possibly (pray to any gods you worship that I am wrong) a harbinger of more to come."
Just the comment i was looking for. This is exactly the problem with everyone who reviews this show. They think "Oh, this is a rip-off" or "it's not classic" etc. etc... here's an idea. Try looking at Loonatics *without* the biased way of thinking. This isn't the original loony toons, and don't even groan because i said that. Biased comments are more then common these days when it comes to anything. Hell, i find Loonatics more interesting than looney tunes ever were. what's so interesting about anvils dropping on peoples heads, and elmer chasing bugs. it was always the same schpiel.
Here's an intersting little comment i found about bias in itself:
Another kind of bias was found in the New York Post article, which is a movie review for an anime movie that just got a domestic release, named Tokyo Godfathers. In this article, the author, V.A. Musetto, presented a good but satirical review by also commentating on:
"This isn't your usual anime. For one thing, there are no panty shots, an anime staple."
Now this is a clear example of bias-based critique. Sure, panties are a common thing in anime, but there is no clear research that proclaims that they are required to appear in every anime. The author just said that so he could sound more informative on anime than he really is. Either that or he wanted to connect with the readers who don't know anime all that well. Of course, once they have read that quote, I doubt they would feel more comfortable with the notion of anime in America.
which leads to these comments, found after all the bickering and complaints at http://asmallvictory.net/archives/008209.html
(Note that "Buzz Bunny" was being used in place of "Ace Bunny" at the time)
(Also note that the material is somewhat dated, from february...)

"Okay. You guys are officially buying into the hype.
THIS IS NOT A REMAKE. It's all the characters' DECENDANTS in a future setting.
The spite and hate you are feeling are exactly what WB wants: interest, even if negative, in the show.
When I watch the new show, I'll be thinking: "Yakko, Wakko, Dot" not "Bugs, Taz, Daffy"
They're different characters. WB saying that they're "remakes" is a bunch of baloney. Bugs still exists. He's Buzz's great great great grandfather.
I am not a troll. I am asking for logic."
Arthur J. Pearson
"I think now it is much better i am a guy who will really like the future we have to go on with life and make more interesting. We can not stick with the same thing forever. Well because people are voting against it you should make like a two show thing a show for the LOONATICS and the LOONEY TOONS. it would be a fair thing for everyone. i really love this new loonatics thing, good job guys i love it.HOT!!!!!!! Do not listen to bad comments from people do what you like sooner or later when the show loonatics goes on they will start liking it. You know it's just the begining of the show so they do not know what is packed for the future. follow your decisions and life stick with the loonatics"
What Garrett says is EXACTLY my thoughts. Remake schremake...
