Alnette's gaze shot to the door once she heard the second voice. She had to admit that she hadn't expected anyone else and it had taken her by surprise. However, she managed not to jump up and pull her dagger out, as she would have done in the past.

[I'm not a bad person...]♠ Chris thought the voice sounded familiar. "Ah," he said, "perhaps... is that who I think it is?" Emma's changing gown caught his passing glance, of course. ♠ [...I just have bad luck.]

Hrothbert of Bainbridge stepped out of the shadows, bowing to both Baron and Baroness. "Forgive the rather sudden introduction." He gave Emma's neckline a look, and smiled to himself. She was already across the room, standing beside him, couple facing couple.

[I'm not a bad person...]♠ "Ah, hello, Hrothbert," Chris replied pleasantly. "I thought it was you..." he glanced back at Emma with curious unease; would this qualify as a magical wardrobe malfunction? Perhaps someone other than himself would bring it up, but for now, he'd focus on the matter at hand. "So, the both of you are here?" ♠ [...I just have bad luck.]

He nodded in response.
Emma looked down.
"ACK!" She blushed a brilliant shade of maroon, and her neckline readjusted itself.
"Well, that's a shame. No chance you'll keep it like that?" His low, very British voice held notes of amusement.
"Pervert."

[I'm not a bad person...]♠ Chris stifled a chuckle. "Anyways," he continued, "would the two of you like to catch us up on what sort of problems you're dealing with...?" ♠ [...I just have bad luck.]

Alnette watched them, silently listening. She would speak up when she felt the need to, but at the moment, she preferred silence.

Emma remained silent as well, and in that one gesture made it perfectly clear who wore the pants in the relationship.
"Nothing out of the ordinary, but it has come to our attention that allies are necessary. I have not had the chance to thank the both of you properly, but I shall repay the favor."
The ward was struck again, and Hrothbert's blue-green eyes narrowed. This time the release of power could be felt even by those without magic.
Somewhere far away, five wizards gathered around a scrying stone were thrown against the wall and given a severe headache.

[I'm not a bad person...]♠ "Of course," Chris said. "It's always good to have allies. We'd be much more of a force together, I'm sure." He looked over at Alnette. "We'd hate to have anything happen to either of you, so we'll do our best." ♠ [...I just have bad luck.]

The thought had crossed Emma's mind; Lord and Lady, Baron and Baroness...let the world take note.
"As shall we."

[I'm not a bad person...]♠ Chris nodded. "Good to hear," he said with a smile. "In which case, I expect we'll be in close communications with each other in the coming months..." ♠ [...I just have bad luck.]

They nodded in unison, his arm finding a way around Emma's waist. There was an extremely out-of-character noise of affection from the enchantress, who moved closer out of habit.

Lord Discord Vice Captain
|
Posted: Wed Oct 07, 2009 9:32 am
Finding a vacant table, Lord Discord sat down. This room, this place, just oozed with history; he wanted to soak it all in. Though no longer truly human, a fragment from his mortal days seeped through. There was so much he wanted to ask and so much he wanted to see. He was too curious.
Though the room's intended use was long gone, he found its current use to be most interesting. Twiddling his fingers on the table, he sat silently and listened to the conversations that occurred in the meeting room.
