The black Varg padded across the muddy earth, his gold ribbon glinting in the faint moonlight that filtered through the treetops. Adjo's ears were flattened against his head, and his gait was frisk. Melted ice and slush spattered in his wake as he glanced over his shoulder with a horrified expression.
It was twisted. He was a Varg. He's supposed to do the chasing. Nevertheless, he believed someone... or something was on his trail. He muttered a prayer that he didn't accidentally stumble into some unforgiving Dragga's territory. Adjo tucked his tail between his legs and whimpered apologetically. "I mean no harm, I mean no harm..." His gentle words were lost in the breeze as his speed increased. "Please, please... Leave me alone." Whatever was behind him, it made no attempt to reply.

He was between packs, per say. The Gamma was on his own, though he imagined it would be only for a short amount of time. Surely there would be a pack willing to take a large, strong male that new his place in life? He hoped so, at least.
The winter had been a rough one and he wasn't quite as bulky as he usually was. Food had been hard to come by, but hopefully as the snow died away, he would have an easier time.
The male's ears pricked and he tilted his head to the right. He had heard something odd. Something running. Fleeing from a predator? His curiosity was pierced and he couldn't help but to change the direction he had been running. He aimed for the sounds that he had heard, caught a new scent, and was still equally baffled. A Sikla, perhaps?
He slowed as the dark Varg came into view and, hopefully to keep from frightening him, let out a small howl of greeting.

Adjo's heart and lungs pounded against his chest with so much force that he thought he was going to burst. His moist nose and lips stung from the frost that was slowly making them its home. The black Varg kept running despite his numb paw pads and icy fur.
Adjo caught the sent of a second creature, but he didn't get the chance to analyze it. The howl that seemed to burst out of no where threw him off balance sent him tumbling. The momentum he built carried him across the mud and ice, flipping him from flank to rear to head and over again. Once he finally came to a skidding halt, the wolf curled into himself with a desperate whine. Adjo appeared completely masked in mud. The glimmer of his ribbon was the only hint that there was something more than earth in the pathetic lump.

His plan backfired. Completely.
The Varg felt a pang of guilt as the other tumbled, head over paws, in what must have been a bit of a painful blunder. It was that guilt that led him to move over to the other creature, instead of continuing on his merry way. Paws picked quickly through the snow and mud and brought him quickly to the fallen Varg's side.
"Hey, you alright? Sorry if I gave you a fright there, was unintentional. You looked to be a bit upset, so I was trying to make myself known. Can I be of assistance to you?"
