I'm not sure I get it. What does any of that have to do with Set? Is this monotheism dabbling in polytheism, or what?

Basically in the Sethian Gnostic system (and others) the Archons are beings created by the Demiurge, Yaldaboth to keep his creation in order. From what I understand about the Sethians, they had more Jewish leanings and radical interpretations of Jewish tradition and scripture and were very critical of YHVH to the point of demonizing him. They are called Sethians because they saw themselves as sons of Seth, Eve's third child, which had a theological significance I am having trouble recalling right now. Technically they qualify more as a branch of Judaism than Christianity from what I understand but there is some overlap in their Demiurge system and other Gnostic systems. The Sethians imho seemed very pessimistic from what I've read about them. Though my assessment of them might be skewed since my focus is more on Valentinian based systems.
