The bedroom for the king and queen, with large windows surrounding the room, allowing light to flood in. Ornate furniture decorates the room, including the bed, a wardrobe, a small desk, and a nightstand next to the head of the bed.

"Honestly, Perounelle! What goes through your mind sometimes!?"! I swear!" Rose said angrily as she was letting her rage out by ripping the cloth off her sticky sweat covered body, and angrily untying the laces of her corset. Perounelle simply looked at Rose with a neutral and bored expression on her face, signaling that quite honestly, she didn't care. Basically, her version of "whatever." Rose sighed and quickly threw her blood and teared clothing in the trash, leaving her bare as she shuffled through her closet for something to wear. "You will make it up to that knight for seeing you in such a state, Perounelle. It's simply not right for a noblewoman such as yourself, dearest." Perounelle sighed and sat down on the ground, wanting to simply sit and relax. She was tired, and sweaty. Rose yelled at her not to sit in the dirty floor, and Perounelle sighed and stood up, shaking her head. She put out a very elegant dress for her to wear, and Perounelle sighed once more. "Rose, It's nearly the end of the night. I do not need to wear something so elegant." Rose shook her head and turned back to the dress, straightening the white satin fabric out. "You, ma'am, are going to take a nice, hot bath, and you will eat a very light-" Perounelle glared at her when she put emphasis on "light" dinner. Rose started speaking again, but Perounelle ignored her and closed the door to her bathroom on her, letting out a very un-ladlylike groan when she lowered herself into her bath, the water turning slightly darker with all the filth that came off of her. She leaned her head on the back of the tub, eyes closed calmly. Gosh, it was so nice to relax like this. She sunk deeper into her bath water, and stuck her foot out of the water, wiggling her toes around and looking at them boredly. She smiled softly and then washed herself accordingly, not having a servant doing it because she wasn't in the mood for nagging.

Perounelle stepped out of the tub and met Rose again, waiting patiently for her. Rose smiled, seeing her queen squeaky clean, wrapped in a robe. Perounelle looked at rose with bored eyes, and Rose picked up the dress and other garments, quickly putting it on her. "Did you enjoy your bath, queen?" Perounelle nodded and then said, "Yes. I'm sure you're happy to see i've healed completely up." Rose nodded and adjusted her dress just aq bit on her, then stepped back to see her work. She had a long, white dress on, that brought out her eyes and hair. Her blonde hair was out, and Rose was currently brushing through it. After Perounelle's hair had no knots in it what-so-ever, she put her ring and necklace on, looking at herself in the mirror. "Beautiful," Rose always commented to her, in her armor or not. Of course, she always said that she was far too manly for queen, but Perounelle always knew she was only playing with her, even if it was true.

Rose hummed and then finally said, "You're all ready to go, dear! I'm going to head back to my quarters. Why don't you head down to the dining quarters and look for that knight?"

Perounelle nodded and they parted ways, going to Vincent's spare bedroom to see if he was hungry for dinner.

The tiny trickles of water in the bathroom and the sound of Perounelle's breathing harmonized together as one, an orchestra of what could be called, "Bath time." It was always a normal routine for Perounelle. She would sit there for give or take 10 minutes, and then either herself or a servant would bathe her, and she would get out. This never changed. It didn't matter if she was ill, or whatever state of mood Perounelle was in, this often wouldn't change.

And now, for reasons she knew she could never explain, for reasons only God could tell, she found herself sitting there, in a state of cogitation that went down into her very soul.

It was so funny, to her. How a few words, a few simple, simple words from someone she didn't even know could change her way of thinking. For the good, or for the bad, she didn't know. Everything was wrong to Perounelle, now. Up was down, left was right, and she didn't know who she was anymore. Perounelle wasn't exactly sure who Perounelle was, anymore. She knew she was the queen. But to herself? She was a person. A confused person, who just wanted answers.

Perounelle had always felt self pride, and just the right amount. She was proud, she was determined, and she was serious. But a few words from a man, a man who knew her better than she knew herself, completely turned her. He left her, in all ways possible, hollow, with nothing but memories that made no sense to her floating around. And Perounelle didn't know how to explain her emotions at the moment. She was confused, she was frustrated, she was....She didn't know who she was! It made her chest want to tremble, made her feel like a child. How a simple man could make her feel so helpless, so confused, and only with a few simple words. She wasn't aware that the strong queen was able to break down like this. And, slowly, like a rotting corpse, it was happening.

Her state of confusion was slowly getting worse and worse. Even if she tried to make sense of the things that were floating around in her head, it made her feel even more confused. And if she simply let them stay there? They lingered. Perounelle was trapped in her own confusing state of limbo, and never had she felt so helpless, so weak, so human, so....so unqueenly. And as her own thoughts rotted away, and internally hurt and maimed her, she felt her emotions spike. She wanted to be angry, she wanted to be sad, and happy, too. She didn't know why. She didn't know anything anymore. To feel like nothing mattered...That she wasn't a person. That she didn't know herself.

Perounelle let out a ragged sigh, tilting her head back to look up at the ceiling. She wasn't actually seeing anything, her eyes were just drifting. Watching, but not seeing. Everywhere felt numb. It made sense to her. With her mind everywhere at one time, it made sense for everything to be numb from the horrible state of confusion she was in. She tightened her lips and got into a crouching position, hugging her legs and burying her head in between them. Tiny rivulets of water dripped down from her forehead, down into the crystal clear bath water. Perounelle watched the little trickles of the water, then her gaze drifted down into the tub. It was half-full, and her body weight added a few inches to the water. She reached a single hand down to bathe her hand in the clear liquid, her other hand tightly gripping the outside of her leg, her body still held tightly against her knees. Perounelle's numbness seemed to become even worse, as she could barely feel her hand inside of the lukewarm water, as well as her body against her knees, and hand tightly gripping her leg. She couldn't really feel anything. It only added to her feeling that she was simply...there.

Perounelle's hands went back to her knees, both of them being hugged extremely tightly, and she buried her head in between them once more.

It was then that the pain started.

It started as a slow burning sensation, and as it intensified, Perounelle's breathe hitched loudly in her throat. The numbness around her seemed to only worsen the pain. It felt like someone was digging their nails into her scars....Like there was something under her skin, wanting to tear it.

Perounelle felt as if there were things that were supposed to be there, and they weren't. That was what was causing her such pain.

It only seemed to progress even more, from there. From the burning sensation, was tingling, and the recurring twinge of horrible pain. Her face buried even deeper into her legs, and she heard the familiar sound of droplets hitting water again. She opened her eyes to see them, and paused.

She was crying.

Perounelle sniffled and wiped at her tears, staring at them with wide eyes as the twinge turned into a sensation that felt like someone bit into her back. She let out a tiny weep and hugged her legs once more, tears dripping into the water nonstop. She hugged tighter and tighter, her nails and fingers digging deeply into her knees, rivulets of what was now blood dripping into the water, dirtying it. Perounelle's tears continued, the emotional pain now adding to the pain she was experiencing. It seemed that from a psychological point, her pain was progressing as well.

The numbness was still very much present, and it was then that Perounelle started to openly weep. She - She didn't know what was going on anymore. She didn't know why she was crying, she didn't know why she was in this much pain....She didn't know why she had to be like this. Perounelle couldn't remember a time where she was so confused, so numb, so weak. When was the last time she felt this much pain? She couldn't recall.

Perounelle opened her eyes, hiccuping slightly. Her vision was wavering, and blurry, and she looked down at the pink-ish redding water. Her bloody grip on her knees wasn't any looser or better than it was before. It seemed only worse.

Perounelle hiccuped again, her face slack, eyes still slightly wide. Her bloody hand came up to her cheek, to feel the slightly cold, and new warm tears streaming down her face.

Perounelle looked down at her tear and blood stained hands, still hiccuping violently. She let out a pained gasp at the sudden twinge in her back. When was the last time she had cried? The last time she had seen herself bleed like this?

Perounelle couldn't remember that, either.

She hiccuped and buried her head again in her knees, curling up as much as possible to try to escape everything. She wanted it all to go away. The pain, the confusion, the memories. All of the things that man had told her...She wished they were never there, and that he never existed. Her nails dug even deeper into her knees, the water turning a darker crimson color. Her legs were stained red with droplets and streaks, now. Perounelle hiccuped and coughed slightly, tightly closing her eyes to escape the realities. It seemed as if the pain in her back had gone away, but it was then that it came back tenfold. She let out a strangled gasp and hiccup, and sobbed out softly, reaching her left hand back, reaching over her shoulders, feeling the scars in the middle of her back that felt hot under her fingertips. They burned even more and twitched as she touched them. Her fingers felt numb over the burning sensation, and she just wanted it to go away. Perounelle weeped over and over from pain when she felt like something under her skin was trying to get out, like there were wings trying to get out from under her skin. Hot tears of pain and agony streamed down her face as she scratched viciously at the marks. One of her hands was wrapped around both her knees, the nails of her left hand digging into her right knee's. Her legs were tight against her chest, her head tucked down in between them as she scratched at the left and right scars on her back.

Blood seeped down her back from the deep scratches, the water as red as an apple at this moment. The numbness of her entire body helped her fingers not feel the blood surrounding them, but she could barely feel her nails digging deeply into her knees. All she could feel was the pain enveloping her back, the horrible, sickening pain. Her right hand was drenched in blood at this point, her face buried deep between her chest and legs.

Everything hurt. Every motion, every thought, every memory that started racing back to her at this moment. The deal maker's face flashed in her mind, a wide smirk on those lips. Dressed in all black, holding something large, feathery, and black in his hand. She remembered a piercing scream of pain, and she remembered kind blue eyes.

Finally, in a giant burst of pain, her emotions starting fleeing her, tears coming down in waves as the scratching deepened horribly. It hurt, but not as much as the memories. These memories that plagued her mind...She couldn't remember why they were there, what their meanings were...And she wanted to cry. There was that man again. Why was he in her memories!?

The pain started slowly dispersing, and she brought both of her blood covered hands over her legs, hugging them tighter than she had ever hugged them before. Her chest trembled, hiccups lost in her throat that was now raw for some reason. She closed her eyes tightly, praying, hoping for everything to go away, and for things to go back to the way they were before.

Everything seemed to stop, and the light trickling and droplets of her blood spilling into the bloodstained tub was all that could be heard. She stopped breathing and let out a shuddering breathe, opening her eyes to stare down at the bloody water. Watching, but not seeing.

Something stirred inside of her for a few moments. She was thinking of something, before....She couldn't remember. When she tried to recall what had happened a few moments before, there was just blankness and numbness left in her memories. She couldn't remember anything...But her memories were still very much there. All she could do was stare down at the bloody water, and listen to the sound of her blood hit the water. It was calming in its own horrible way.

She could faintly hear banging, and wasn't exactly sure if that was part of her memory or not. The banging stopped and then continued, before a giant bang resounded, making her ears hurt and ring.

"Oh my god!" A shrill voice screamed as the door to the bathroom was torn open. The water made a small noise as she turned her head over to blankly stare at the woman in the doorway. She had tears streaming down her face, her eyes as wide as saucers.

The woman rushed over to her, pulling her naked body up by her arms, putting her hands on her face. "Perounelle, stay with me, are you alright, sweetie?"

Who...Was this woman? She didn't really know who she was talking about. She didn't really think that she knew anyone...Let alone someone named Perounelle.

"Perounelle, Perounelle! Stay with me! It's me, Rose?" She was being tugged helplessly out of the bathroom, blood still streaming down her back and knees from the scratching. All she could do was stare blankly at the woman with her dull, dull bluish-green eyes, wondering who she was. Both herself, and the woman. The woman set her down on the ground, wrapping a lacey white towel around her that was soon stained red. She went to call for help, screaming bloody murder that the queen was injured and out of it. The woman soon came back to her, wrapping her arms around her and rocking her back and forth. "It's alright, okay? What, what happened? Are you in pain?" The woman pulled back, and looked her in the eyes, but she refused to look back. Her gaze rested on the mirror in front of them, that showed the full view of her. "Queen?" The woman asked weakly. Forgetting the towel, she leaned over to touch the mirror, a bloody fingerprint left in its place. Her reflection was one of a dark woman with two different colored angel wings. Her eyes were a vibrant copper color, and the white wing was ever so slowly turning a black, sickly color. Her lips tightened, and her eyes dilated at the sight. It made her stomach turn, and she brought her bloody hand back, crashing it into the mirror to get rid of the image. Glass pieces flew around her, hitting her chest and legs, as well as mutilating her hand, turning it red, staining her naked body with red.

Another scream tore through the air at the action, and the woman, Rose, as she called herself, dragged her away from the mirror, eyes wide with shock, scared. "Perounelle, are you crazy? Perounelle! PEROUNELLE!"

Her voice faded off and on, a lost cause on her deaf ears. She stared at the woman blankly, before her eyebrows raised slightly. That was right, Perounelle.

Rose saw her queen's eyebrows raise, and she sighed in relief, smiling. It seemed as if Perounelle was back with them again.

Her eyebrows raised a bit more, and her head swayed back and forth for a few moments. Yes, Perounelle, that was right.

It sounded an awful lot like her actual name.
Perennial.

Her eyebrows slowly started becoming slack of any emotion, as well as her face. Rose's smile disappeared as she realised it was not what she thought. Just as this happened, a crowd of people started coming into the room, lifting her up and taking her somewhere else. All she could hear was that familiar name she had being called. Yes, Perennial....It was coming back to her, slowly. The beautiful blotches of red that she was seeing all over her body brought back more reassurance. Perennial Rose, now didn't that sound familiar?

Her head and body fell slack into the arms of someone strong and tall, and it was then, she lost consciousness.
