KIYOHIME IS MAD SEXY

They're actually Kiyohime and Artemis. xd

Let's start with the least favorable of the bunch.

Diana... I hated that thing. Honestly, it was the lamest one. Tentacles and mirrors for perverted peeping, that's all it had going to for it. What a crappy little bean, just like its onion-headed owner. Totally useless!

Harry didn't really have anything unique going for it. Even the design was pretty basic. Akane and Harry were just created for an example to show what would happen to HiME when they lost their child. I did like Akane's weapons though, but there was nothing too special about Harry.

Gennai, again nothing special. I get the connection with the whole frog-thing because Akira's a ninja, but nothing in Gennai really made it stand out among the others.

Kagutsushi: I'm not a big fan of main characters - that includes all the bells and whistles that come with them. Really, there wasn't much to Kagutsushi, it was typically super-powerful with a massive attack that obliterated everything. I did like the sword-in-the-mouth thing... and thought the reference they pulled from ancient Japanese gods was cool, but other than that... I found it pretty bland.

Artemis, a satellite... :/ wow. Hated it. And whatever the hell Mashiro was had absolutely no air time, so we just got a glimpse of it.

Alright now that those are out of the way (and feel free to disagree)

Favorites:

Shiho's crow, Yatagarasu, was pretty neat, despite annoying me every time it showed up. But that was probably because I hated Shiho SO MUCH. But pushing Shiho aside (far, far aside) the child itself was pretty unique and better in comparison to some of the others.

Vlas was actually pretty cool, I thought. When it opened up its armor it looked totally demented, I loved it. I really liked the whole chess-piece horse/knight design/idea, I even liked its power... Though it'd only be good against people, wouldn't it? I mean, what the hell would an Orphan dream about? Sadly, I seriously hated Sister. So she knocks down Vlas' "cool" points.

Julia was honestly gross and freaky looking, but I think that's what added to the appeal. It was pretty terrifying overall and was really fitting for Nao. I liked that Julia enhanced Nao's character... an image that really sticks out in my mind is when she "acquires" Natsuki for the second time in her apartment, and there are webs all OVER the place! I thought it was cool how Julia appeared behind Nao too, gleaming and glinting in that malicious way. It added a pretty cool undertone.

Miroku was pretty sweet... for a spiky ball with arms. It's just a shame we saw so little of it... or so *much* of it that we totally missed the detail. But again, I like the design. Had a cool 'samurai'/'ancient Japanese demon' feel to it. It reminded me of a Noh mask, particularly of the Oni variety, (to be more specific, Daikijin "Great Devil God",) which is actually quite fitting when considering Lord Kokuyou.

Gakutenou was one that I really liked too. I might be the only one, though. I love the design. Its amour almost reminds me of medieval times, like a jouster and a knight. Even its attack, it rams you at top speed with its bladed... uh... nose. It even died pretty gallantly by protecting Miyu. And It has this crazy-assed transportation mode that makes no sense (because somehow it flies?! lol)

That reminds me, at the end when all the HiME and their Child's are flying towards the star... Diana was flying with Yukino on it, that stupid bean flying with its tenticles waving about...! rofl

Anyway, I'm not quite sure what makes me gravitate toward Gakutenou, but... I do.

Duran was one of the few Child's that we actually saw the full extent of its power/abilities. We saw a variety of attacks, and even a transportation mode! It also looked pretty sweet, was fast, durable, and powerful... a nice little package! Also, I really like how Duran relates to old mythology, and the whole back-story ties into Natsuki's character. Everything about Duran had a connection to Natsuki, something the other Child's didn't really have an explanation for.

Kiyohime: What a beast of a child, it's freaking massive and a kick a** combination of an octopus and a snake. Honestly, what could be better? Kiyohime was probably the only Child that made me sit on the edge of my seat and scream in fan girl ways. It was terrifyingly awesome, cool looking, and just as crazy as Shizuru. That thing could have literally annihilated anything! It was completely unstoppable. And I'll say this more than once, but Shizuru and Kiyohime would have won the carnival... if Shizuru didn't fall for Natsuki's TRAP!

Mashiro, Artemis, and Diana... suck suck suck! Just full of royal suckings.

I'm a fan of Vlas, Gakutenou and Duran.
