I wonder what the band thinks of most people joining the fandom because they won Eurovision. I'm sure there are plenty of mixed emotions with that x_o

Yeah, must be a good amount of mixed feelings for that. On one side, there are a lot more fans, which is great and all, but for so many people to know them through the Eurovision win must be pretty rough for them. D:

Exactly, in fact, I remember reading an interview where Awa said pretty much the same thing.

Hey, I first saw Lordi on Eurovision. I usually just watch it to take the mik out the rubbish gets put up (and sometimes they are actually funny...)

I remember watching Finland, and I was thinking... WHAT?! an actually good band on EUROVISION!

I was routing for Lordi for the rest of the evening. And whats more, THEY WON! Strike a blow for descent music on Eurovision! We might actually see something good this year.

You showed me that interview, right? confused
Can't imagine how the band feels about it all, though. D:

Suddenly becoming so popular, just has to be a shock. With those monster suits they still had a private life but that has now really gone down the drain since they won eurovision. Now they are away touring through the world for a long period. At that point you don't have a private life at all.

It all started right before MGP 2006.. I rember that I came to school schaking and sceared for what I knew would happen, my class mates would laugh of me, make fun of me, throw my bike untop of the school, hit me in the head, tell me I was fat and ugly, a idiot and nothing woth.. And like every day, I took home crying and hopping that it soon would stop.. That day I went on the computer to play a game, witch normaly clamed me down when I saw this picture of a 6 horned man and 4 other creactures.. First I was sceared of seeing them... but after I read what there stood under the picture "The monsters are back and ready to roll, will they become the new MGP winners? I had gotten new hope.. Next morning when took to school I thought about these monsters, and it funny enough seem like noboy wanted to make fun of me, noboddy called me names of had thrown my bike some where I wouldn't be able to get it.. When they then Won MGP, I VOTED ON THEM!, I chose to become a fan.. So after that I have done any thing I could to show that I'm crazzy about them and not sceared of others making fun of me.. Specailly after the time I heard Supermonstars... That song speaks to me! So I'm happy and proud of beeing a fan, and even though the only lordi concert I should have been to was canclet #2, its not going to bring my down..

The first time I heard them was when I was scanning over a friends profile. I love doing that, and I spotted a youtube video with monsters on it so I had to watch it. That's when I first heard "It snows in hell" and I was hooked. I began to look all over youtube for more of their stuff, searching for lyrics and anything else I could get my hands on.

;3 Lordi is the best.

About 2 years ago, I was listening to that radio show that Alice Cooper dj's.
Cooper was complaining about a Finnish metal band that looked like they wore Gwar's castoff clothing, and that this song BLOODRED SANDMAN was illegally sampling from Cooper's own song, POISON.

I listened to the song and IMMEDIATELY loved it.
I didn't think it sounded AT ALL like Cooper's song POISON.

When I got home, I checked out Lordi, Gwar, and listened to the POISON song all on YOUTUBE.

LORDI ROCKS!
It was love at first listen, and then more love at first sight.

Gwar is absolutely terrible. Their songs are garbage. It's like listening to some drunken frat boy band. Their costumes are weak besides.

BLOODRED SANDMAN doesn't sound anything like POISON.

So either Cooper was being trying to be funny and sucked at it, or he was doing the show drunk and/or high.

I think it's a little from column A and a little from column B.

about a year and a half ago I stumbled upon a tribute video to my favorite wrestler The Undertaker that was set to "Devil Is A Loser" with "Rock The Hell Outta You" as the song for the credits. I watched it a few times before I started investigating who Lordi was and listened to a few of their songs and I became a fan. I have almost all of their albums/singles on my iPod and iTunes biggrin
