I'm sure we would have something similar, and to Christianity, we owe nothing but a convenient archetype that accurately depicts our ways of living and thinking. carnygirl As I get older I actually realize that religion is somewhat necessary for most people without it the world would have total anarchy and then the satanist would have no one to trample to the top. I contest the bit about anarchy. Secular societies have not historically fallen into anarchy and chaos. There is such a thing as law in said secular socieities, to uphold some sense of order. The world, in my opinion, would have gotten by just fine without religion, though I think it would be a much less colourful world. I enjoy cultural studies, especially in the field of religion, so I am glad it exists, and had existed. However, it is not, was not, and will never be a necessity to keep order. carnygirl We unfortunately need these moronic sad excuses for humans. The Great Retardo Lavey it seems wants to destroy Christianity, where today we have slipped into complacency. Hmm... at first I wanted to disagree... but think about pentagonal revisionism. It's not an unreasonable destruction though. In some passages he seems angry towards white-light religions. In some passages he seems like he nothings these religions (hah I used a [Scrubs] term) because they are not worth his time. I wouldn't call Lavey unreasonable for saying and feeling what he did. Then again these Baptists have their reasons. Doesn't mean their right. In the end it all seems like harshness based on beliefs. Beliefs you can be so stupid as to blindly follow. Ideas seem like the better strategy to go with. Ideas can encapsulate everything and include everything. With beliefs I see a lot of one-or-the-other. Ever noticed that? Maybe it's just where I live. People tend to be such jerks here.

On another (lighter and funnier) note, has anyone seen the Bullshit episode in which Penn travels on a bus full of gays following the westboro baptist churchers and right in front of every protest, the gay people are kissing and dry humping? It's pretty hilarious. Once they even all got on the bus and rocked it back and forth. Every single protest that Penn's "homo-mobile" arrived at left after maybe 30 minutes of pathetic protest. That church's followers are also only people from his family. The talk like inbreds... They look like 'em too!

Is killing the animal for clothes necessary.....I'd rather use the fake stuff. I hate seeing these rich a** people walking around like they own the world wearing freakin' fur coats....from animals.

What they mean is, if you are in the middle of Antarctica ( or any other wilderness setting) with nothing but a paper sack, you just may have to sacrifice a polar bear, or maybe even a penguin or two, just so you can survive in the harsh cold. You might also have some nice food with that as well blaugh
