Oh my gosh! Recently I entered a poem into a contest. Not only was my poem accepted to go into the semi-finals, but it was accepted to be published in a book! I'm so excited! All I have to do to get it published is reply to this letter with my initials. I'm so pleased. Oh, if you want to read the poem, here it is:
Communion
Drink this wine,
Eat this bread,
Words of communion
Which Jesus said.
To represent,
His body and blood,
Bruised, beat up,
And splattered with mud.
This great love,
He's shown for us,
For wicked sinners,
Has he died thus.
The Prince of Peace,
Savior of all,
Now I've learned,
To the Son I'll call,
And to his Father I'll fall.

Very moving and emotional. I like it. Simple, yet the underlying religious themes and emotions invoke strong feelings within the reader.

AH!!
I cringe at the thought of entering any of my work in a contest. I bareley managed to click the submit button here on Gaia! Wow...you're brave! And I like your poem too! It actually made me feel kindof guilty for not beigna very religious person... crying

Thanks for the sig compliment! Thanks for your compliments on my piece! I don't know what the book is to be called. The information they sent me just said that they publish books filled with selcted poems every so often. They don't know the names of the books until very close to the time they are published so sadly, no I don't know what it's called. The way I said that made it sound like a scam. . . It's not, I've done my research!

Wow, that was a great piece. I don't think there's really anything to say about it that's negative! It had great rhythm and I really liked how it ended with five lines instead of four! Great job!
Oh, and congratulations on being published!
