Many of us in the JCC are seniors and will be graduating this year so I decided to make a lil thread bout colleges some are going to or would like to go. Underclassmen can join in too if they know where they wanna go or have heard of some good colleges!
For me I've got really 2 main choices but 3 just to be safe really. What I plan on majoring is Video Game Programming and minor in Game Design
The first one is of course, University of Advancing Technology in Tempe,Arizona. It's sooooo cool! Just readin bout it gets me all excited! They've got anime clubs, DDR contests, stuff that I totally LOVE and even XD get this! a Japanese language class! WOOHOO! LOL Sensei I'm comin for ya! Teach me oh great one! LOL
The 2nd is DeVry. They called me not to long ago and what not. A lot of people go to DeVry since its right here, but I don't really want to stay here in Texas, I wanna go 'splorin! LOL so eh maybe
The 3rd choice isn't really a good one but whatever, its the Art Institute of San Francisco. Eh its okay I guess, but I'm tellin ya... UAT IS FOR MEEE!

Well I've been getting offers from a lot of art schools on the eastern coast. I wouldn't mind going to that one in New York... forgot what it's called, and i'm too lazy to get up and go get that letter.
I wanna major in something artsy but if not i wouldn't mind majoring in something like foreign language (perferrably Japanese. wanna get me a job in Japan!) My main choices would be:
UT, it's right up there in Austin and well it seems like it would be a cool place to be for seriousness. lol
UAT, c'mon man, dis place be pimpin yo, right up my alley!
A&M: If i plan on becoming a Vet for reals and stop my now reputation as an animal killer, then all will be well! It's hard work but somebody's gotta save the pets of da world.

im going to be starting fullsail in november so i guess thats one
and my second is UAT..... i hope i make it to that school and if not im stuck in FULLSAIL crying
Where did the last option come from elba? not even a well known school im guessing. I see more Devry, fullsail, and UAT being advertised than that.

The Art Institute has been around for a while. Every state has at least one x_x. There's the AI of Houston, Philly, San Fran, Austin, all that nice stuff lol its more of an, dur, art school for like culinary and what not. Not really gaming.

I really have no idea what I want to major in for the future so I'm still skeptical about my college choices. For now I'm sticking with UT Austin since it's a well rounded school with a relatively good reputation. If I do decide to go with graphics then I'll consider UAT but the fact that it's in Arizona kinda irk me a bit. I wanna stay at least a bit closer to my family and my friends here.

There's an Art Institute in Chicago that I got some mail from... ._.; I never thought my steeck figures could be that phenomenal.
I'm getting all sorts of out-of-state colleges mailing me, probably so they get more money from out-of-state fees. rolleyes (I always think of college as a business first and an education center second. >.>; )
UT Austin doesn't sound too bad, but I wouldn't mind smaller classes. Maybe I'll transfer out after I've gotten core classes out of the way.
Cornell College in Iowa is pretty cool for liberal arts, I heard.

Ever since the UT seminar at school, I've been more inclined to apply there. It seems likely that I can get in and the prices aren't too bad either. >.> So I think my decision is pretty much finalized.
College: UT Major: Digital Graphics and Animation
Screw my parents wanting me to be a doctor. xP

I know right? But still, it's hard not to be able to go for the big jobs even though it's a high salary job. Honestly, I have no clue where to go or what, but my parents want me to be a doctor and I'm like I guess since I'm indecisive about my choice.
Possibilities: UT at Austin- pre-medical
North Harris/U of H- pre-medical

Maybe the reason the salary is so high, is because no one takes the jobs (medical)! I don't mean to be mean but like I want to deal with daily deathes and illnesses everywhere! (plus I faint at the sight of blood)
Major: Psychology aka therapist College: Where ever the road will take me to... aka Undecided(sp?)

I think the salary is high because there are a lot of downsides to it.
-Require extensive studies that can range from 5-10 years of college. -Dealing with sickness and deaths on a daily basis. -Possible infection due to spread of virus from a patient. -Long, unpredictable hours. -Liability for injury/death of patient.
Seems too much to me. From what I've seen, most doctors take the job because they really want to save people's lives and that's what keeps them going. =|

Parents can force all they want but not that many kids actually do what their parents tell them too.

Screw my parents wanting me to be a doctor. xP Jah, everytime I see myself as a doctor, that TV show 'Scrubs' somehow comes in... *mini female Dr. Cox=WTF?* I can't handle daily deaths, either, and I'd probably mess up patients worse than when they arrived... The moral of the story: Keep in good health and don't die. 3nodding
