Dilly was not often prone to wander in Neverland, but the lure of spectacular wild plants was strong for any Feien grower.
It was in this mindset that Dilly set out of Tirtin Village one sunny day to seek new plants to bring back to her garden. She’d taken Zee along with her and set out farther inland to search her own idea of treasure. But still make it back before supper, of course!

Danny had tramped far and wide from the treehut, stopping periodically to flitch the freshest vegetables from what he considered to be conveniently placed gardens. He hadn't stopped to think that perhaps they belonged to someone, but then he had never paid much attention to the stories Ahja told them. For all he knew they just sprouted up from the ground to help him on what was shaping up to be a horrible expedition. He was almost two days gone from the treehut, and his suppy of peaches had run thin. Before coming across the gardens he had considered climbing the trees for more, but for the time being he was happy as he gnoshed on stalks of bright green, trudging with a huff and a puff through the underbrush.

Dilly was befuddled, what manner of creature was messing up the gardens scattered around Tirtin? Muddy holes, dirt scattered everywhere, and her beloved plants, many ripped up by the roots. Distraught, she halted her journey at once to survey the mess.
“What could be doing this, Zee?” She mused aloud as she worked to make the gardens presentable again. As Dilly moved unhappily around the garden, attempting to repair the damage, she heard a loud noise from nearby in the brush. Rushing to hide herself and her friend among the flowers, Dilly hoped she was about to discover exactly what had been messing with her plants.

Danny grumbled as the garden came into sight, realizing for the third time today that he was going in circles. With a huff he dropped his meager things on the ground and went towards it, scooping a handfull of water from one of the holes as he bent his large frame for another snack. He seemed unaware that anyone else was around, but that wasn't unusual, he had never paid attention when they were being taught to track animals.

Dilly peered from her hiding place at the large boy who was snacking nosily from her precious gardens. It took all the will power she possessed to keep from flying out it a fit a of anger and tearing into him. Only the thought of how much bigger he was, kept her in her place.
She watched for several minuets as he continued to ravage her once beautiful garden, until she could stand it no longer. Hovering upward, and taking care to stay out of his reach, Dilly flew level with his shoulder.
“What do you think you’re doing!” She demanded, her small voice laced with rage.

Danny jerked, spitting chewed up vegetables on the ground. He turned with a shaking frown, hoping it wasn't one of the monsters that supposedly roamed the island. He was almost disappointed to find a tiny woman at his shoulder, and for a few seconds he stared at her. Then, with a scowl he tried to flick her away, saying gruffly, "I'm eating."

“You’re eating!” Dilly worked to contain her rage. “You’re killing my vegetables! Destroying my gardens! Ravaging my beautiful plants! ”
She buzzed angrily around his head, trying to get him to understand exactly what sin he’d committed.

He swatted at her in annoyance, trying not to drop his snacks. "What's the big deal?" he groaned, "They're going to grow back!" It was frustrating to find things like this, especially when they thought they were bigger. "Besides, I don't see a sign or anything with your name on it!" Not that he knew her name.

“You’re not paying any attention to me, are you?” Dilly squeaked, close to tears. “These. Are. MINE. My time. My effort My love. I don’t have to put my name on them!”
The tiny girl was at a loss. The boy was too big for her to force him to listen, and he didn’t seem very willing to corporate on his own. What could she do to stop his savaging her precious plants?
